Fantastic staff!! Good location. Clean place that is well appointed for families

The beds were smaller than expected - they were all twin size (and length if your are tall) we had small children whom were expected to share the bed with us, however a twin size bed was too small for an adult and child.Long lines for laundry

I loved that there were bunk beds for the kids and for a Tokyo hotel it was spacious (we had 2 very large bags and 4 smaller bags and still had room for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the staff was terrific. I was grateful that they had baggage storage and were close to Ueno as our flight out was at 9pm from Haneda.

I had a great experience there. There was nothing I didn't like. I guess it was a bit further from the entrance to Ueno then I thought it would be. The pillows were comfortable and the room was actually very silent despite how close it is to the train station.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We appreciated the proximity to the Ueno train station, as well as multiple restaurants and convenience stores in the area. The staff had restaurant recommendations, as well, which was helpful. The size of the room was a big bonus as we had two teenagers with us.

We stayed at this hotel twice - once at the beginning of our trip and at the end. The second stay was in a “train view” room. While we enjoyed the other room, the train view room was better. The ability to have natural light in the room (and watch the trains!) made our stay more enjoyable.

I liked that it was walking distance from the train station. The staff were always friendly and very helpful.

Friendly front desk staff all spoke English and were very helpful, rooms were clean and spacious, A/C worked well and we sure needed it, location excellent for Ueno park and public transport.

We almost always want to pay less for things and this hotel stay was no exception. Maybe a good value for Tokyo, I don’t know, but definitely pricey.

Ueno was great for our family for four! A 5-7 minute walk to the station, and we had a spacious room for our family. The front desk is english speaking with 5 star hospitality. The facilities are unmatched for a family. We were so comfortable with our large room, seating area, kitchen area and toilet room and shower. 7-11 and Lawson's were close by for snacks and easy breakfast. We made coffee in our room with our electric kettle. I would stay here again and again and again. Loved it! Thank you, Mimaru Ueno North!

We stayed at Mimaru in both Tokyo and Osaka, but this was our least favorite experience. Our room wasn’t cleaned on the first day, and the hotel didn’t have a water cooler. When we checked out, our kids wanted some water, but the staff couldn’t provide any.

The room was sufficient for my family of 6 and the staff was very nice and helpful. There was kids playing area at the reception. It’s near to Ueno station which helped in our commute.

For our purpose the location wasn’t the most convenient. It was a good accommodation for two nights. Surrounding area is not pretty if wanting a place to relax outside.

It was mostly clean—but very musty in our room. Staff were very nice

Hated the location, right next to train tracks, rooms were lackluster, far from everything except Ueno park. Felt like a youth hostel. We stayed in 3 mimaru—this was the worst.

Amazing experience at this hotel. Close walk to the steer markers and the beautiful Ueno park. Laundry facilities were great for our family. Hotel room was beautiful and spacious.

Really friendly staff. Lots of helpful advice and useful tips. Super comfy beds. They made a special effort for my husbands 40th and gave him a really special personal gift. Brilliant location. Loved Ueno.

A bit far from station

I booked a family room for six, and the room size was good compared to other accommodations we experienced in Japan. The hotel was close to a park, and the nearest metro station was about a 10-minute walk. There were also several convenience stores nearby, which was very handy.

The hotel was a bit far from major Tokyo attractions, but they were still reachable via a direct metro line. The dryer in the laundry room was not very effective.

We had the family room for 2 adults and 2 children (age 11 and 12) and stayed 5 nights. Fantastic layout, plenty of room for everyone. We really liked the location close to Ueno station and easy to get to major sights.

Nothing we didn’t like.

The staff were communicative and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Location was ideal. A few steps away from the Ueno station, that made our commute on the subway a breeze. We got to see a lot of Tokyo for much less because of the location.

We were unable to open the windows as it said there was some danger in opening them. Besides that, there was a strong light coming from the other side of this window, during night time.

Great location close to train station, Ueno park and shopping. Spacious room for family of 5 (hard to find in Tokyo!). Very clean and laundry facility on site makes travelling with kids easy. Staff friendly and helpful.
