NOHGA HOTEL UENO TOKYO

Beautiful hotel, perfectly situated between Alihabra and Ueno. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms Tokyo-sized, but prefect in every detail. We loved the bikes available for 1,000Â¥ and used the daily.

Breakfast bar was more than enough, but was not available without the purchase of an entree.

The hotel is amazing. Excellent location, amazing staff, great food, comfy and spacious rooms. Breakfast is really good and has a great selection of courses. Dinner was amazing, on par with any high-end restaurants in the area and had one of the best chicken salads we ever had. The rooms are super clean and larger than the average hotel room in Japan. The location itself is perfect, just 5 minutes walk from Ueno station.

We liked everything.

Loved the location. Easy train ride from Narita. Lots of nice inexpensive restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good. Close to Ueno metro so easy to get to places.

Rooms are on the small side.

Only 2 laundry machines for entire hotel. We ended up going to a nearby laundromat

On my bad was a weird kind of bug.They switched my room but it seems they didn’t really care of the serious issue. No apologies and no compensation. Staff very cold and not helpful.

The hotel has great vibe — hip yet mellow. There’s a nice space to hang out at the end of a day of Tokyo madness.Alan at the front desk was wonderful. He’s a gem.

The breakfast options were frustrating. There’s a great buffet but guests have the pay for the full course breakfast and purchase a coupon the night before. You can’t just pay for the buffet— which is standard in most hotels— or just get a cup of coffee. We felt forced to hunt around for an easier and less costly breakfast elsewhere.

Two things make a hotel- the people who run it and the location. The people were top notch. Friendly and worked well together providing a lovely and welcoming atmosphere. Location wonderful. Quiet yet close to train, lovely park, waking distance of amazing sushi, bar nightlife, shopping, electronics district. Breakfast outstanding with amazing friendly service with both service and food some of best we’ve ever had at a hotel. All staff were helpful and spoke very good English. We had some unusual requests and they helped by calling venues and ordering delivery for our teens. Also helpful with luggage forwarding. We had 2 rooms for our party- one suite with a view of the skytree and another corner room. Both quiet, comfortable and clean.

We liked being in a quieter section of Tokyo for the beginning of our trip. It was close to a lot of sites we wanted to see Senso-ji, Tokyo National Museum, Uneo Park and Ameyoko Market Street. We pre paid for the breakfast and I this was a very good decision. You could choose to have a traditional Japanese breakfast (fish, miso soup, rice) as well as a more western breakfast or get only a western breakfast. It was a great mix for our family so everyone got to start there day with amazing food.

We loved so much about this hotel. The location was a quick walk to the train station. Right next to the zoo, museums, and even walking distance to some cool neighborhoods. Oddly enough, we loved the fragrances of all the toiletries too!

It had a formal dining area downstairs that I wish was a little more cozy.

The authenticity of the Japanese esthetic. The commodity and interior Japanese style. The breakfast was really over the top and the staff young and dynamic.

Location to ueno train station and Tokyo University area was the reason we booked there,

Collecting a 400 yen tax upon check-in was a little annoying. Don't know why that wasn't just billed at checkout

Overall, it exceeded our expectations. Staff was friendly and the food at the restaurant was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower and the toilet were clean and great.

We liked room comfort, location close to train station, shopping and beautiful Ueno Park, check in was good. Received a token to plug into a sake dispensing machine.

No coffee making facilities. They wanted 900 yen for a coffee - majority of hotels we stay in (and we have stayed in many) offer coffee making in room or complimentary in the lobby. In Kyoto they offered this, most appreciated. Local coffee shops were just 500 yen. Breakfast for 4000 yen? Really? That is $40 Canadian. We did not partake, picked up light breakfasts at nearby supermarket for fraction of that. Not asked how our stay was upon check out, felt rushed.

This was a lovely boutique hotels. The breakfast was excellent. It was close to the train station. Allen at the front desk was so helpful. He cleared up all our confusion with catching a train out of town.

Gorgeous property. Well appointed and designed. Smelled delightful and jazz music throughout common areas. Small but efficient and clean workout room. The entire property was spotless.

We loved our stay at NOHGA Hotel Ueno! The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from one of Tokyo’s main subway stations. They even upgraded us to a bigger room for our honeymoon and helped forward our luggage to our next stop — such amazing service! The food was excellent, and the hotel’s minimalist design and cozy vibe made it the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. Highly recommend!
