So little space which is understandable.
The staff was very friendly and cared. Hotel rooms were pretty clean and it was super super close to the train station. Rooms were quiet wifi was fast and my room had a view of tokyo skytree which I was really happy about. Prices are hard to beat for the new year!
Bathroom smelled a little bad? Shower curtain had a mildew smell and the toilet looked clean but it didn't always smell clean. Room clean up was up to you, which saves money but the clean up job was minimal. The rooms were VERY small, bed toilet halls, were very small for two people. This place would be great for solo travel. Wifi didn't always work, I had to restart the router some times.
Genuinely the best place we have ever stayed. We have done many snow trips in Aus and Abroad, this takes the cake. This is the best place we have been too. I'll try to keep it short:- Staff all genuinely care and check in with you each day. Brendon the owner continually goes above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. - Great food, drinks and service. We found it great eating Japanese on the mountain while snowboarding and then coming back for something a bit more western and close to home for dinner. - The lodge is family run and feels like another home when abroad, multiple spacious areas to relax, wood fire, drying room, kids room, lounge, vending machines, restaurant. Honestly what more could you ask for. - Convenience: Chairlift is right outside the lodge, food onsite as well as a conscience store a 3 minute walk away. They let you arrange pick up and drop off to the train station or town so no need to worry about taxis or buses. Lastly, the care. We were late, lost a room key, mixed up our days up and missed check out (don't copy us). Their first priority was to make sure we were happy and had a roof over our heads. They were booked out and still managed to sort us somewhere to stay. Great Lodge, even better location, and best of all, the amazing staff.
Very convenience location just 3 minutes walk from Ueno station. easy to find hotel by the roadside. very helpful staff during the check-in. Room size just fit well for 1 person stay.
TINY!! The room was tiny, but the bed was tiny for two adults--little sleep.
bed needed to be larger.
Location to all amenities
Small washroom and desk area
Room was small but it's perfect for a solo traveller like me.Location was near Ueno station and Ameyokocho so it's very convenient.Everything in Japan is clean, this hotel isn't an exception.
The small lobby area, I am actually working remotely and needed enough space to work, it was my checkout time and planned to stay a bit in the lobby to do my work but it's very small.
friendly staff location cleanliness
Very good location, service and room
The staff was beyond helpful and kind, they went out of their way to give the hospitality that was expected of a high caliber hotel in a more budget friendly facility.
Kindly, this is a property in transition, with some renovations underway and some needed. It was very acceptable for the price and location and I could see the extra effort being put in by the staff to create a good experience. Not a complaint but an observation, the history of smoking floors in hotels and more modest amenities was noticeable in this facility but it appears there are plans to work towards a more desirable ambiance and efforts underway now to reach those goals. Overall, it was above acceptable, not unpleasant, and I was happy with the location and access in this area.
The closeness to the Ueno Station. The local shops, park, and museum. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and orderly.
I didn’t like the one elevator that made getting up to my room take forever.
Location and price
Mattress and pillow were rock hard. Comforter was dirty
Right next to station and has a family mart less than 2 min away. No long walk to and from station. Staff can speak English well enough and assist in whatever way they can.
Convenient location near train station
No frill. Bed hard.
Clean and comfortable
Host/ staff on day 2 accused us of damaging a mirror and was going to charge us for it and then we contested it.We’ve had an incident re : drainage in the bathroom as we had a senior citizen. We’ve already cleaned up them mess before asking help on the drainage to allow us to completely clean the bathroom and host and staff were rude even asking us to watch the hygiene and that would cause damage on the property.
check in check out sleep
Great location, very clean and perfect for an overnight stay. Process for checking in and out quick and efficient
Wifi wasn’t working in the room
It was very last minute as our flight was delayed we had to book 1 night, it was quite close to the station
very small rooms, the bed was too small for 2 people and barely room for bags
