Pros +
- This room size of this hotel is relative better compared to other hotels in Japan, you can open up your suitcase easily. They offer complementary breakfast in the morning although the breakfast is very simple. Also, there is a coffee machine in the lobby which you can enjoy. It's close to Ueno station with easy access to JR and underground (Metro).
- Amazing location. You are right next to Ueno station which is one of the best train stations in Tokyo. You can easily go to anywhere in Tokyo and even outside of Tokyo because it also has a bullet train. And the hotel staff are very friendly, they offer room cleaning service, and even free breakfast! :) a real GOAT of a hotel for anyone who wants to crash in Tokyo for a while.
- The staff were very friendly and the location was perfect
Cons -
- This is an old-fashion hotel which is still using physical room key with a huge key-chain, you have to leave your key at the reception desk when going out.
- So the catch is that, Ueno station is close. However to get to Ueno station, you need to climb up stairs to a pedestrian walkway and that might be problematic if you're carrying a lot of luggage. Personally that is no fault of the hotel but it is something to be aware of.
- They had problems with the elevator for 1 day but understandable

They had problems with the elevator for 1 day but understandable
The staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel is 2-3 min walk from Ueno station which is a great starting point to explore the city. It's in a quiet street. Has a laundry space with separate washing and drying machines.
The rooms are small, we couldn't lay down the baggages.
Hotel location is ideal in regards to sightseeing, shopping, dining out and the subway system. Keisei Ueno is very near so travel to Narita airport is easy. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Room is a bit small but it had everything I needed. WiFi was a bit choppy!
Extremely tiny rooms nearing claustrophobic they would be ok for 1 person Provided plenty of towelsGood locationMost staff were friendlyWe paid each day for our room which was strange we've never encountered that ever before but not a lot of English was spoken so there were some communication issues
The room was cleaned every day and they let us keep our bags in reception, also very close to Ueno Park
The bathrooms were a bit small for someone like me
Location of hotel amazing, close to train, restaurants and shopping. Staff friendly and most spoke some English. Quiet hotel and location.
The room was extremely small (standard for Tokyo) as a couple no good. Size ok for solo travellers. The bed and pillow uncomfortable.
Location was greatStaff friendlyPlenty of towels provided
Very small rooms which is to be expected in Tokyo just didn't think it would be that smallTerrible pillows
Cheap pricing, clean rooms, friendly staff.
Each guest must leave their room key with reception when ever you leave the building, this adds a security concern for me.
I have never wanted to leave a hotel before, regardless of how bad it was but I couldn't stay at this one. Even if this was half the price, I still wouldn't consider it. I had to forfeit a lot of money to leave and rebook somewhere else on the same day but it was a loss I was willing to take to get out. Beds rock hard, key security concerning, mould on the bathroom roof, very old and dated plus expensive. Thankfully booking.com came to the rescue with a financial credit after contacting the customer service team.
Strategic location and it is walking distance to Ueno station and market
Very good location, short walk from Keisei-ueno, Ueno station and the Subway lines, walking distance to Akiba, as well as one of each of the main Conbinis within close walking distance. Rooms were surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel. Very good value for money.
You do get what you pay for, bedding was slightly uncomfortable, whole place looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 80s and there is no key cards to unlock your room like a modern hotel, you must hand your key to the reception everytime you leave and ask for it when you come back. Not so much a dislike, very neutral, but there wasn't a good spot to add this, but staff don't speak much if any english, all in all it wasn't a big deal for me, I can understand but I can't speak it, but be prepared to have google translate on the go for check-in.
It is located very close to ueno station very convenience you can get everything what do you need.hotel staff was very friendly and nice and tidy.
To be honest.I didn't get anything wrong over there.
Room and the private bathroom is nice and clean.Comfortable .Staff were extremely friendly supportive.Great location closer to Ueno station
Small hotel located within very walkable distance from ueno station - has all the basic amenities and room features. Room is appropriately sized as far as budget hotels go, but staff are very friendly even with limited English. General Japanese amenities contain: daily room cleaning (or request to not be disturbed), Dailey fresh body and face towel, bedrobe, slippers, bath wash/face scrubber towel, toothbrush, disposable razor, shoehorn, clothing deodorizer. Room has a small fridge, TV, and very quiet split AC. Bathroom very clean.
General 90s design - older yellow colored bathroom with older style bidet toilet with manual lever flush, but everything is kept very clean. Older styled carpet. The window has no view because it is glazed and presumably overlooks an alley.
Very nice staff and it had all the basics I needed. It is in an excellent location both for the subway/train station and for all the exciting restaurants and shops around Ueno.
It's not as new as some other hotels, but I shouldn't really hold that against them.
Check out time on 12:00
No ice maker machine Elevator too old
Location, friendly helpful staff, value for money. Cooling foyer
Lack of menu in adjoining cafe.
A very old-fashion hotel in Ueno area. However, you can feel the old style hotel and it recalls my travel memory in the past. It offers free coffee and tea in the lobby area. Room size is larger than expected where I can fully open my 25-inch suitcase. A 7-11 convenience store is just 2 minutes away.Big Tips: Using Okachimachi Station instead of Ueno Station is much better and easier if you are carrying large suitcases.
Guests are required to leave their room key at the counter when going out, which seems quiet unsecure. Bathroom and toilet area is relatively small.
