Hotel Livemax Ueno-Ekimae

Location is close to Ueno Station. 7-Eleven is about two blocks away. Another laundromat with good fast dryer machine is nearby. Hotel dryer doesn’t work well.

Hotel clerk was rude and cold. I can’t see that they have so many problems with their customers who kept stating and breaking. So now they have so many strict, detailed inconvenient rules for customers.

Charged an additional fee for checking out 15 minutes later. Actually less than 15 minutes!

The location was amazing! Close to Ueno's busy markets and the subways. Everything was straightforward and simple. This is a barebones hotel so had to keep that in mind. Staff were very nice!

With the perspective that this is a barebones hotel, cleanliness was okay and room is small. I wish the hotel had TA-Q-BIN service, figured this out the hard way.

The japanese man at morning reception is rude. He is not welcoming for customer. He always speak rudely and not helpful at all. but the night shift (2men) is very good a help us a lot. We lost a watch and iphone charger. we back to hotel after that bit they are gone.

Everything is good, except the japanese man manager at the reception in morning shift.

Great location five minutes walk from Ueno station, and super value for money. Staff were great and everything needed was there.

Too expensive, i had to pay 135.000 yen /1 night for 4 pax. Check in 3pm, check out 10am. NO BREAKFAST INCLUDE. When we arrived the hotel and ask the receiption staff about this price is real, she said maximum offen around 5.000 yen, may be it is a problem from booking. Other guest came to check in and paid around 5-6 000 yen. She asked the manager man again, then the men said that we were be charged extra fee 280% because this day is holiday ( she didnt know which holiday and why other guest was not be charged the same us. I messaged to the hotel on booking before check in and then but no one reply us. However, the room for 4 people is too small with 2 single beds inside under 15 m2. The working talbe to small with iron, microwave, ... Dont have enough space for open our luggage. we could see dust flying in the room when opening the curtains early in the morning because the room too small.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. Location is strategic, walking distance to public transport and attractions.

The bed no so comfortable and not clean enough. And the room quite small

Looks can be deceiving. The front desk looks presentable. The room we had was less than appealing. The beddings were stained, and the room was so dusty. The robes were so old and disgusting.

there is dust under the bed, which i am allergic to so it made my stay a little bit less special

Where the hotel was located was perfect.

We couldn’t open the window so a bit dusty and not able to change air from time to time, the room was so so tiny, if you are claustrophobic this hotel isn’t for you.

The location is amazing the mayority of the staff was pretty cheerful. They store our luggage before and after the booking, that's is very convenient to look around the area.

There was a slightly sewer smell around and within the hotel. Was pretty annoying but not unbearable. This is not very important, but there was a lot of dust and stuff under the bed.

The location could almost not have been better, very close to Ueno Station to connect to the larger Tokyo subway and train network, as well as Keisei Ueno Station to connect to Narita Airport. With a nicely functional airco-unit even the hotter few days were very manageable.

The amenities were very basic, which is to be expected of a business hotel. However, the bathtub felt grimy, as if it hadn't been wiped down properly in a while. The room was a bit small, which made opening my suitcase a bit of a challenge at times but not impossible.

It's location is perfect for tourists solo travelers and very close to Ueno station.

Unfortunately there was a bit of mold in the room I wasn't staying too long but still it didn't like being exposed. I wouldn't mind a retractable clothes line in the room or washroom to hang dry laundry. Bathroom door didn't fit the washroom and wasn't properly closing and left a large opening at the bottom I wasn't sure if that was on purpose or not? That's all.

Have a snack vending machine, staff that welcomed you with eye contact or a smile, smaller beds so there’s more room to walk around beds or attach tv higher on wall for more space, poor house keeping not cleaned under the beds, stains on the walls beside beds, ripped wallpaper, tv corner plastered up and the whole floor & bedroom stunk of stale smoke

Rooms smelt. Rooms ridiculously small even for Japan. I fellow very helpful otherwise staff unfriendly and un helpful

Close proximity to the train stations. There were 3 convenience stores around the hotel. The area was also very quiet.
