    Pros +

    • I liked that it was very new and updated. Nice AC, bidet, tall tub/shower, defog mirror, tv, elevator, hair dryer, outlets light switches on the bed frame, and coin laundry, vending machine, and microwave downstairs.
    • Great part of town, great subway access, really polite staff.
    • The staff crew was really nice and helpful.

    Cons -

    • The room was really hot, I did get a fan from the front desk but it was still tough in there. It was cold outside too. I turned the heat off completely and still slept without a blanket. The blanket provided was thick and plush, which certainly didn't help
    • There wasn't cleaning the room everyday, but the trash would be cleaned if disposed in front of your room's door.
    • Room service is only every three days

Simple check in, very central, and quiet.

    9HolleyPosted on: 1-19-2026

The location is awesome - far enough away from the tourist hubs but also inclusive enough to be close to several train entrances while sandwiched in between Asakusa and Ueno. The staff were super helpful and extremely hospitable.

Room service is only every three days

Location is relatively central. Surprisingly the fact that have international electric outlets is a blessing

Room is a bit small even for Tokyo standards

The room is comfortable. You have access to convince shops and restaurants. You're 10 minutes away from Ueno park and station. The hotel has two washing machines and two dryers. You can check the availability from your bedroom on the tv. If they're busy, there are a few coin laundry places just a few blocks away.

There's only one elevator and it gets busy. If you have to leave at a certain time, have reserved a taxi or platforms drivers, I suggest leaving your room at least 10 minutes in advance. On several occasions, it took us around 7-8 minutes to catch the elevator.

cozy and easy to check in and check out. staff was great. super close to the station

    8PawelPosted on: 12-6-2025

Super clean, well maintained hotel, small but comfortable and quiet room. Excellent location 10 mins away from Ueno station plus subway station just across the road.

Breakfast room / restaurant small quite small, can get crowded. Only one lift - you may have to wait for a while to get up or down.

I will keep this brief:- The staff as expected are very polite and helpful.- 7 Eleven is pretty much across the street.- The beds are comfortable.- The upgrade didn't cost a lot and was arranged adequately.

I'm going to be blunt: after a great first APA stay in Tokyo, this one was a huge letdown that just kept getting worse. The first room was very poorly designed and felt much smaller than our previous 11 m² APA room. Moving around was a tight squeeze, while my in-laws had what seemed to be the same size room but laid out much better and feeling slightly larger. We accepted that and arranged a paid upgrade for the next day. Then the real problem started: the heat. Our room was over 25°C, stuffy, and we couldn’t open the window because it was labeled for emergencies only and literally screwed shut, so we just suffered through the night. We mentioned this to staff the next morning and were told the building was on central heating and it would be switched back to cooling mode that morning, which sounded reasonable at the time. We got our upgrade the same afternoon. The upgraded room initially seemed great: more spacious, comfortable, and on a cloudy/rainy day the temperature was okay. We even paid extra for a late checkout (which, honestly, cost more than the upgrade itself) so we could rest properly before heading to the airport. That decision was a complete waste of money. On our last day, with clear skies and large east/south-facing windows, the room turned into an oven. Direct sun heated it up by about 2°C in an hour (starting from about 8), the system was locked to heating only, and the only “solution” offered was a small fan. Outside was around 18°C, yet the AC was still in heating mode and with full sun exposure, our room hit about 29°C hours before checkout. Our toddler was sweating, couldn’t sleep, and we ended up spending our paid late-checkout time sitting in the lobby just to cool down. At that point it felt absolutely insane: how can a hotel knowingly keep heating on in sun-exposed rooms on a warm day, with no way to cool or properly ventilate?

    Clean, warm, nice bed.

They only offer continental breakfast which is nice (as they cook it there) but not much to choose from for picky people. ;)

Clean and comfortable in a quiet location, but easily accessible to many sites

    9ZacPosted on: 11-6-2025

Property was great in a good location next to two big train stations so easy to get around

For an bigger American the bathrooms were a little tight for me personally but did not take away for the fun. Elevators were pretty crowed in the mornings had to let it go by a couple of times

Clean towels everyday. Room was clean. Location is very safe.

    8MorganPosted on: 10-14-2025

APA hotels are very consistent in my experience and can always expect cleanliness and comfort. Staff is always helpful, putting up with my poor japanese. It's very close to multiple stations, and I had no trouble getting where I needed to go or coming back.

    8HasnainPosted on: 10-11-2025

Fabulous location close to train station and most sites easily accessible. Hotel area is quite yet you will find plenty of Restaurants, bars and entertainment on 10 minutes walk. The rooms are small but thats how most rooms are in Tokyo, however, for a single occupant like me, it was more than enough

The hotel has one lift only, with the guest and staff using the same lift. During peak times, it takes a long wait for the lift

    7MiltonPosted on: 10-10-2025

    Clean, helpful staff

Room size, smallest hotel room I have ever seen. The Ueno APA hotel would have been a better location as it is closer to a major train station, more restaurants and shopping

    8AlejandroPosted on: 8-25-2025

Friendly staff, has the essentials including washer and dryer in the lobby, is well situated next to a subway entrance and one stop from Akihabara.

There's no pool or anything like that, it is a place to stay and sleep, but that's it.
