    Pros +

    • Friendly staff, accessible water, toilet and shower both great
    • Close to train access, kind staff, comfortable bed, great shower
    • The hotel was close to the train station, which made our journey much easier. It was cozy and comfortable, and they even offered some snacks for breakfast.

    Cons -

    • Shoe lockers in lobby are unventilated which leads to shoes staying sweaty. Leaving bag on day of is in lobby which is nice service but security concern. Maybe can use spare room or utility closet?
    • The pillows were slightly stiffer than I would have liked.
    • The bed was a bit small but I think it’s the standard size in Tokyo.

Shockingly affordable, plenty of space in the room, updated amenities, in an extremely quiet yet accessible neighborhood. No frills, limited amenities.

Everything was great about the property, the welcoming warm staff, the rooms, the location. Having the Barn as my home base while exploring the city was perfect.

The breakfast was nice and the extra amenities and drawer of things we could borrow was a nice touch. The location was good in a quiet suburb in Tokyo.

We had a lovely stay at The Barn. It is in a quiet, residential area with good public transport access. We were greeted by the lovely Ef who works there, he was super welcoming and helpful. The room was more spacious than other Tokyo accommodation we’ve had so that was a nice change!

The bed was a bit small but I think it’s the standard size in Tokyo.

Located in a residential area, the property was very quiet, but only a couple minute walk to Uguisudani station. Directly across the train tracks is Ueno park with lots of museums, art galleries, etc. that make for great trips in the morning before exploring the greater Tokyo area. The property itself was modern, with enough space to sleep and a little table to pull out and eat at. It is the perfect setup for explorers who want a homemade to sleep at between trips around Tokyo. The breakfast is some packaged muffins, buns, and donuts with bananas available too. Nothing fancy, but it doesn’t claim to have a breakfast experience. A bakery down the road that opens at 7am is a good place to grab food that is really good. Perfect location.

This cute little boutique hotel in a residential area of Tokyo was absolutely wonderful! The property was in a quiet area just a very short walk from the JR line and the staff was so helpful and accommodating.

We love this hotel, everything about it, wifi is free. Good rooms, lovely staff, close to train station.

We love everything about this hotel, the only reason I would not recommend for a romantic stay, is the walls are thin. You do have to be respectful of others in the hotel, but that is not a problem for us as we are pretty quiet, we have stayed here 3 times upgraded rooms on the last stay and glad we did.

nothing, we do love this hotel.

modern looking boutique hotel.beddings are very comfortable.very friendly and warm staff.

we have been travelling in Japan for a while and this is the 7th hotel we stayed (2nd hotel in Tokyo).- this is the only hotel that we stayed without a bath tub in the room, and there's also no public bath, which is almost like a basic amenity in Japanese hotels.- this is also the only hotel that doesn't have febreze or fabric freshener for your clothes.- there's no drying rack in the room to hang your bath towels to dry although plenty of hangers but lack of hooks.- they have the loudest hairdryer I've used in Japan, and it's the older ones where you have to keep pressing down the button for it to blow...- as we have been forwarding our luggages from city to city using Yamato, every hotel can help us facilitate the delivery, except The Barn. they told us to bring our luggages to Family Mart to deliver instead.- lastly, this is the most expensive hotel we have paid in Japan, 1.5x more expensive than another chain hotel in Tokyo which had all of the above amenities. so we will definitely not stay here again.

Great hotel for exploring Tokyo! The staff was great and the room was peaceful and quiet after hectic days out in the city! I really appreciated the info book with restaurants and neighborhoods. And it was very easy to get on the nearby subway line.

Quiet in a residential neighbourhood. Convenient to transit .

Rooms are a little small but expected in Japan

Nice quiet location Clean Have stayed here several times and always been excellent stays

Try to get a room on 3rd floor as you might be able to hear footsteps above you ... with 3rd floor room no one is above you

The staff at this hotel are exceptional. They are helpful, friendly and the hotel is really nice. The little yard to relax adds a great bonus. The room was big and exceeded my expectations.

Nothing! I really enjoyed my stay here and plan to book it again the the future. Thank you for you great service and accommodations. I look forward to staying here again!

Staff was greatQuite, cute locationClose to transportHigher priced, but worth the money

    Firm bed and firm pillows

The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to the train station so it was easy to get around. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area, away from the hustle and bustle so it felt very cozy. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The room was larger than most Tokyo hotels with plenty of room for opening suitcases. The complementary coffee/pastries as well as complementary luggage storage was a huge plus!

The bed was slightly too firm but still pretty comfortable.
