    Pros +

    • Location was good - close to trains and some popular tourist sites.
    • I liked the common area to work, and the kitchen. It was clean and quiet and secure. The room was comfortable and I liked the TV.
    • Great location , nice wide bed, friendly staff, cute common space

    Cons -

    • Room was very cramped - the only free space for luggage was essentially a hallway, which made it very difficult to navigate it with two people. This is listed as a ¿Hostel¿. However it lacked the social aspect you¿d expect. This is more of a micro-hotel.
    • The room could use a ledge or shelf or more hooks or something for more storage, as we ended up shopping a lot and needed more space to put our luggage and things.
    • The room is too small

This was an excellent stay. Super close to the main hub of Asakusa/Senso-ji, friendly staff, clean and spacious private room with private attached bathroom, communal kitchen and lounge area. Our room AND bathroom were larger than other hotels we stayed at during our trip. We could open both large suitcases at the same time! Water pressure and water heat was great. Staff answered all questions and acted as a great guide. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom very clean. If you want a very elevated hostel experience stay here. Though remember, the community is only built if you are social in the communal area! Be aware that you'll have to walk a bit from the nearest station, it would be smart to forward your bags when staying here (super easy to do, your previous hotel can help you out with this). I would stay here again.

Would have loved a water kettle in the room instead of only one downstairs in the communal kitchen area. Not a deal breaker though! Still 24/7 accessible if you want hot water, just an elevator ride away.

There are hidden fees at this hostel. 1400¥ check in fee, 20,000¥ fee to throw trash away, 1000¥ if you want your room cleaned, there were several other fees too many for me to list here. They make you sign a twenty four page contract when you show up (not normal at all for japan). There was one friendly person, I think his name was Daniel. The other employees were very cold and didn't seem to hate their jobs. The floors in the room were dirty when I arrived. I had a seven day reservation, i left as soon as possible. Loseing nights of pre-paid cost just to flee this hostel. Please reconsider booking this place. Nui hostel close-by, where I change to, is much better. Or, you can stay at Apa hotel, a decent chain hotel in japan, for practically the same cost.

This was our second stay there and it was as wonderful as our first. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. It was nice to see the same faces especially Kira! Our room was small but quite comfortable and clean. The location is very good as well. The small lounge area is quite nice for breakfast and to just hang out as we did waiting for our flight. We would definitely stay again!

It would be nice to have bedside lights and more hooks for towels!

Clean, new/updated, well regulated temperature. Bathroom/shower well maintained

Overall good experience. The staff was friendly and provided clear instructions. Check in and check out experience was smooth.

A little bit of a walk to the closest train station - probably 8-10mins. We had a good stay but felt like the room, sheets, and towels could be cleaner.

    Good location and friendly staff.

The room had major humidity issues, the bedroom was damp and the walls and floor covered in moisture. The bed sheets were also damp. The room is also pretty small for 2 people but we could manage.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff is super nice and helpful especially Kira. The kitchen and common area is quite nice to have.

The rooms are small and don't have much storage or hooks for your clothing. The only light was the overhead light which was super bright.

It’s very small they claim 10m2 but compared to other 10m2 we did in Japan it seems way smaller and our room was not in good condition.

Kind ans helpfull staff. Comfy beds. Close to stations so great location.

    9VictorPosted on: 7-20-2025

It was a pleasant and surprisingly quiet stay (everyone very respectful of their noise level when entering and exiting). They have complimentary toothbrushes, disposable cups, earplugs if you need. However, laundry can be a little tricky as you will need 2 hours to wash and dry your clothes if you plan on using their combo washer-dryer units. Room size is tight but enough space to fit 2 people on the bed (6'2" and 5'2" couple), we chose a unit with our own compact, Japanese-style fitted shower and bidet-toilet, and we were able to fit 2 duffel carry-ons, and a small check-in luggage (carry-on size) into our suite. Front desk staff all speak English well, and are super nice and helpful. They even let you leave your luggage at their desk if you let them know you will be arriving before check-in time.Very walkable and safe. Close to subway stations, 5-10 minute to the big Ueno station, and you will be in the Asakusa district, well-known for selling kitchen utensils and pottery goods (Kappabashi Kitchen Street), if you're into those.

One miss was the wall AC unit being temperamental: one moment it was be a quiet whir, and next moment it would have a loud, rumbling and gurgling noise. Maybe it was just our unit with this issue. Also, it would have been nicer if they had more wall hooks or shelves since the room is so small. We were running out of space hanging our damp clothes and towels in our room.

    Location was great.

Room is very small, a bug found in bed.

Great location and extremely friendly staff. A must stay place if you're staying in Tokyo Ueno area.

Sweet stuff and helpful! Really friendly and curious about your day in japan. The location is really interesting about Kappas and lots of stores related to kitchen/house tools and close to Kaminari and Ueno

Rooms are small and minimal but great for solo travellers and small luggeges!
