Pros +
- location and price
- Small, but everything you need is there and staff are friendly and helpful.
- Great location and very nice lobby area. The lobby had free ice, coffee, and a decent variety of tea. Every morning they would put out little pastries. Hot water on tap for any midnight ramen! No matter what time I would go to the lobby area there was always people there hanging out and enjoying themselves. It added to a very fun atmosphere. Hotel had a drink special. Buy 3 get the 4th for free. How can you not have an awesome time!Self checkin and check out was easy.
Cons -
- the bed frame was odd and awkward at times but made best use of small space. it would have been nice for the vent holes in the frame to have some screen or something to keep items from falling down
- Although they allow you to keep your luggage there before you check-in or after checkout, but they use a machine system which was too cumbersome for us, and we'd prefer to use the time to go around with our luggages as we didn't have a lot of luggage.
- Rooms were tight! Probably the smallest hotel I have ever stayed. But for the price and location you can’t beat it!

Great location!!!
Tiny room but you know that upon booking and designed very well to make the most of the small space!
The staff is very courteous and friendly. We received a calligraphy lesson from one of the staff. The lobby was a welcoming place and we met some nice people. They also gave a free tour of Senjo-ji Temple.
Hard to regulate room temperature.
Good location. Definitely a small space, but it was fine for my boyfriend and me for a few nights. I did appreciate the free coffee in the morning and the accommodating staff.
The beds were uncomfortable and wifi barely worked for me.
Location's a little far from the train stations, but the route is on main streets so it's easy to negotiate. Also, we liked the sushi place right across the street. Great fish, friendly chef who likes to practice his English and appreciates it if you practice your Japanese. (When we went, 5/2025, he was offering a 10% discount if you were staying at Hotel Tavinos.) The hotel also offers some helpful info about Tokyo, including how to travel to Narita from Asakusa station for cheap on public transportation (you need to scope it out carefully to figure out which is the right train, but if you do it right, it's cheap and easy, and we were very appreciative of the information).
The room is SMALL (BUT it's adorably put together, and if you take advantage of all the hooks, nooks, and crannies, quite livable. And hey, for the price...) Also, the shower is quite roomy. The only real problem we had with the room was that we didn't pay extra to have the bed made, and since the sheets are short, it got kind of messy -- maybe splurge for the service, if you can).
The location was excellent and close to the temple and subway station.
Beds were uncomfortable. The mattress was very thin
Location was great and staff was accommodating.
Pillows were barely pillows and was way too flat and bed sheets didn’t fit the bed right, so it kept coming off exposing the bare mattress.
Location
I was feeling hungry at 8:30 am and asked the staff if I could have two packets of corn soup, as I had tried it the day before and found it to be good. The staff replied that there was no more available for today.
Great location, clean rooms, free coffee, easy luggage storage
Rooms are small. Included breakfast was plastic wrapped pastry
Convenient location, very affordable and comfy. Very friendly staff.
Convenient location and lots of automated services. Check in and check out could all be done without the front staff. They had lots of luggage storage available for before and after check in and check out that also didn't require front staff. Laundry room had 4 each of washers and dryers and you could check the availability of them from your room's TV. Lots of common room tables and amenities including drinks and manga collections. Even a small claw machine.
The later evening hours the common room gets very crowded and noisy and the laundry room can be a little uncomfortable for women if trying to do laundry during this time. It would be a little more comfortable if there weren't men hanging out in the small laundry area and were instead in the common area. I can invision more timid people feeling intimidated to be in the smaller secluded space.
The location was perfect
The room was small but good enough for a solo traveler
The hotel was nicely decorated and the rooms were in good condition. The common area was pretty nice, and had free coffee, tea, and a library of Japanese manga for guests to borrow.
The rooms were pretty cramped, with barely enough room for me to open my hard sided check size suitcase.
Really nice staff, great facilities, comfortable bed, convenient location
Nothing I do not like
Clean hotel with good facilities, location is good as it is in the heart of Asakusa district near major attractions but still on a relatively quiet street. They do not offer luggage forwarding, but you can leave your luggage before check-in/after check-out for a couple of hours. Luggage forwarding can be done at the nearby convenience store. There is a coin laundry right next to the reception, which is really convenient.
The hotel had distinct hostel vibes, especially in the lobby. The elevators were constantly busy and crowded.
Great location, great staff and nice hot showers.
Pillows are little flat.
We enjoyed the hotel’s proximity to Sensō-ji and other sights. We liked that they offered breakfast, laundry, and baggage storage.
The rooms were quite small and compact, including the bathroom area.
Location is AMAZING. Hotel room was nothing more or nothing less. Great and helpful staff.
I woke up day one of my stay with bed bug bites all over my neck. There were blood stains on the linens evident by the bites. I chose to not say anything as i was only there for a short stay and did not want to have to worry about looking for another accommodation as this hotel as fully booked. if you book here and you get room 501; PLEASE ask to be moved!
