Pros +
- Great position with spectacular views. Clean and comfortable. Interesting building. Unique experience
- The overall place is very well maintained and clean. Breakfast is sufficient (I'm not complaining) and the staffs are all really friendly (including the nuns)!
- That was one of the most unusual hotels we have ever stayed. It is run and looked after by the nuns. Don’t get me wrong, they are the most amazing people to have a conversation with. Alcohol is available instantly via a honesty scheme. There is a lovely communal lounge where we managed to watch the football and even ordered a takeaway. Stunning views. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was excellent.
Cons -
- Everything was good
- Top of the hill - a bit of a trek up but you get rewarded with great views and a massive welcome.
- A bit on the hill, but I knew that. A slight hiccup at check-in as the late check in code had a typo, but nuns fixed it fast.

Spotlessly clean, everything in working order. Breakfast is amazing, better bread than Gail's :D Architecture is beautiful and there's always someone playing something beautiful on piano at lunch time. Nuns are cute. My room had beautiful views of ilanz and mountains.

The staff were friendly. Dinner was a hearty lasagna, which we really appreciated after a day of cycling. The dinner was reasonably priced by Swiss standards. We had a double and a single room. Both were clean and well-designed to make the best use of the space. Our beds were comfortable. There's secure bike parking.
It's up a pretty steep hill, which isn't ideal after a long day of cycling (especially when you are an out-of-shape prairie boy). However, we knew what we knew this in advance, so we had nothing to complain about!
Genius architecture, spacious rooms light and bright. Furniture was a bit dated but otherwise fit for purpose. Good breakfast and the Nuns come around and say hello which is great !
Space, comfort, peace, nature around
calm clean and peaceful
kindness of the staff
Cleanliness, uncomplicated, simple but good food, value for money.
No WiFi in the room.
Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere.Gorgeous views on the valley. Tasty food. This kloster was built by famous architect Moser. All interiors renovated and feels authentic. Interesting place to stay if you want to explore the region.
Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming staff, a number of nuns greeted you at meal times in a lovely way, all the facilities were spotless, located in a lovely location and the nearby town, Ilanz is very nice.
Nothing really. The only thing is if you are relying on public transport the local bus only runs once an hour (or at least this is the case after 5.30pm) - not that the convent can do much about this. I just thought I’d mention it!
Great, clean room with comfy bed, excellent shower and good wifi. Breakfast was vegetarian and good quality. Parking on the grounds of the convent - I could see my car from my room! The view over the local town and mountains is excellent.
The place is like a maze. I couldn't find an entrance. I had to ask four different sisters for directions and was still lost! Some signposts or directions to reception would make it easier, as not many of the sisters speak English.High price for the single room.
The rooms offered comfortable, basic accommodations. We were welcomed by name by several sisters, whose average age is 80 years old. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. The breakfast and dinner were basic menus with drinks (wines or cokes) at extra cost.
We expected basic accommodations without television, etc., and the Kloster offered that.
Food was very good. Staff and nuns very helpful; at dinner the Reverend Mother (I assume) came and spoke to each guest about where they came from and whether everything was to their satisfaction. The single room was not luxurious but a decent size and fully functional. The shared toilet / shower was always vacant. Good value for money. The location was convenient for my purpose, close to public transport, with a nice view over the surrounding landscape.
The 15-minute walk up the hill from the station with a backpack after a long hot day's hike in the mountains, but then I knew that before I booked :)
Beautiful setting above the town with mountain views. Friendly staff. The beds were comfortable.
The layout of the building is somewhat confusing.
Very clean, good food, parking for free, quiet
I liked the view from my room, the exceptional building and the sober but perfectly complete room. I also enjoyed the stillness room for meditation and yoga.
Everything was great especially the friendliness of the staff. This is a place that Doctors should send their patients to when their suffering from stress. To just 'be' on the terrace is heavenly.
I didn't like that I had to leave.
Great value for money
Walls are thin and noises carry easily. By 10pm it was quiet, so not too bad
The property has a bike storage, which was very convenient. Large rooms, good value for money.
Checkout is early at 10am.
