Pros +
- Is in a very good location in this very pretty seaside town. Hotel is tastefully decorated. Staff are friendly & we had a lovely breakfast overlooking the marina. Look forward to revisiting.
- Nice room facing the SeaNice breakfast.Rooms are new.Beds are comfortable
- Love the hotel! Beautiful property tastefully decorated. Pool, sea view room, patio with food and drinks, ice room and spa, local wine options, walking distance to restaurants, cute town, near collioure, near snorkeling in protected reserve, near jet skiing.
Cons -
- Our A/c was broken so room wasEither too hot or too cold. We complained but nothing was done. Need more pillows for the bed. Need more avail for massage. Only one person on shift? Even tried to book 2 weeks in advance with no morning avails. Strange. Need milk in room for coffee. Limited menu on patio- needs more kids options like ice cream and dessert. Bikes to borrow would be nice. Parking can be challenging. Bed not super comfy. Could use a pillow top.
- Could use a few more service staff or training. Seems to take too long to give and receive an order for cocktails & tapas.
- The service at dinner in the restaurant was poor. The staff were unsmiling and surly, giving the impression that we were a tiresome inconvenience. Even though only three tables were occupied service was agonizingly slow, and after every course we had to ask for the table to be cleared and then ask again for the next course to be served. The food was adequate if not memorable, but the whole dining experience was a disappointmernt and a classic example of how to alienate the customer trhrough a bad front of house approach. We would happily stay in the hotel again but would eat elsewhere, which is a pity given that so few affordable hotels now have their own restaurants. In fairness I should say that the staff at breakfast the next morning were a complete contrast, smiling and helpful.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Extremely kid friendly while still being a luxurious and sophisticated hotel. Spa was excellent.
Such a lovely little gem. Historic & right on the water. No detail has been forgotten. Pool was very relaxing and nicely situated so that you weren't too exposed.

The hotel was perfectly situated on the seafront, with plenty of parking on the road opposite. The hotel was very attractively decorated and furnished, in particular the large and airy dining room. The breakfast was easily the best and most varied that I have ever experienced in a French hotel, with an especially good 'full English' offering. The room was impeccably clean, comfortable and well equipped, although benefiting ftom an uninterrupted view of the hotel's air-conditioning plant and fire escape!

Yes the pool and sauna and restaurant
It’s in progress! Lack of pictures especially in stairwell
Very fine old hotel with class and charm. Wonderful view over the bay and the marina. Excellent location for walking into the old town, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, ... Room was very comfortable, bathroom was small but well arranged. Sink in the entry way was a bit odd, but fine in the end. Very good restaurant on site, pool and spa quite OK. The bar was a friendly place for a drink at the end of the day. Staff were all warm and welcoming.
Really can't complain about anything. Would gladly stay here again.
Very clean. The crew is super nice. They helped me with everything I asked for.
This is a great place at a very nice location, but the people make the real difference. Very nice staff and always with a smile!
Nothing really
The staff were very helpful. I loved the look of the hotel and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was large and luxurious. I appreciated the request to save water via the "eco setting" on the taps. I also liked the self service still or sparkling water dispenser and glass bottles available in the lobby.
My room was quite small; there was nowhere to put my suitcase ( i had to balance it on a chair, not ideal!). The bed was right up against the curtains, which meant drawing them over was a bit awkward. As the hotel is on the seafront, I was surprised there was no option to hang a swimming costume to dry after a swim (aircon in bathroom meant it couldnt dry fully). The floor of the bathroom wasnt super clean unfortunately (you really dont want to see any trace of previous occupants in the bathroom eg nail clippings, hair etc!). My room wasnt serviced on the day before I checked out, although my stay was 3 nights, which was disappointing.
Overall a pleasant stay, fresh breakfast, fabulous decor inside the hotel, friendly staff, lovely pool with a sauna and an ice room
very small bedrooms with a bathroom directly next to the bed. Bed was very hard, uncomfortable pillows, we had terrible sleep for 4 nights
The breakfast was nice.
The pool is much smaller than it looks and access to it is very difficult if you have any type of mobility issues at all - narrow steps no rail. It is more part of the spa with spa silent atmosphere. Therefore it does not encourage any type of family activities or even conversations. No real ‘breakout’ spaces in the hotel. No couch even in common areas. Felt this was very inhospitable. There is a marina outside the hotel not a beach - the beach is further down the prom past a funfair and is more industrial. There are two beautiful sun rooms which are completely unusable by guests - no comfort offered just street side type bar stools on tiny high tables - a lounge would be much more functional for guest experience. I had injured my leg, needing a walking stick and not once during my stay did any staff offer any type of assistance. I was with a small child and had to hobble around up and down to the breakfast buffet repeatedly. I found this all very strange and not what is expected from a property supposedly 4 star. Even practical things like they had milk inaccessible in a fridge on the floor. Overall we were very disappointed as it was not as sold.
Ambience and location. Historic yet beautifully modernized
Coffee at breakfast
The bedroom, the pool and the restaurant
We loved our very pretty room with a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean. Having cocktails in the charming courtyard and spending time in the beautiful spa. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.
Everything is exceptional. From how clean, neat and modern the rooms are to how artistic the room and the whole place is. Dinner at this place was a whole experience. The Spa is very relaxing and exactly like the photos. Will definitely repeat.
Nothing, everything is top notch.
Amazing hotel in and amazing town. We stayed for 11 days. Banyuls was our first stop of a 2 month trip to South of France with my wife and 2 kids. The family suite was perfect and the hotel had so much to offer to keep us entertained. It’s ideally located as well with just a short walk to everything in the town
Not really in their control but there was a lot of construction and roadworks happening suring our stay so a lot of dust and gravel got blown around the place and ragged though the hotel
Sheek, newly refurbished hotel.
I think it’s a shame the spa doesn’t have a private shower. As a hotel guest it doesn’t matter to much but if I was a Spa guest for the day I’d want a proper shower. Also I’m sure they could fit a jacuzzi around the pool and that would really finish the space off.
Fresh renovated Villa. Great Spa. Very good location. Top friendly staff.
