Clean and comfortable room. Walking distance to good food and Takachiho gorge.

Room was comfortable, cozy and rather spacious. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There are parking lots available on the premises. Takachiho Shrine is nearby and is very beautiful. Takachiho Gorge is also in walking distance but I recommend driving if you are comfortable as the slope is a pain to navigate on foot.

Breakfast variety wasn't large, but this wasn't a big problem for us.

I enjoyed the breakfast, rooms, location, and the staff were incredibly hospitable, it was an amazing experience!

In my personal opinion everything was perfect! I thought that there were no more improvements that could have been made, and I would recommend anyone who is driving to Takachiho to experience the shrines, kagura, or gorge to consider staying at Solest Takachiho Hotel!

They should mention at check-in that reservation is required before 4pm if you want to eat dinner at their restaurant. I didn't know until I started reading the info binder in our room.

Clean and close to the Takachiho Valley.

The Wi-Fi connectivity was bad. It frequently phased out and stayed out of service often. The breakfast buffet could improve. The breakfast buffet did not include western style egg offering such as scrambled nor fried eggs.

I’ll admit i do love staying up in the mountains sometimes, and it’s a cool little town.

Uber doesn’t exist so having to call a taxi . But still a cool town

Customer service and staff weren’t very friendly and welcoming.

It was very difficult to communicate with the staff. There was nothing close to the property. You need a car to reach all the interesting sites. The quality of the dinner was good but the seats are very limited and the price is high.

Enjoyed staying here during our visit to takachiho gorge - very very clean and comfortable rooms - walkable to the gorge (although the return walk is mostly up some steep inclines). Rooms are small - but still worked for our family of 5! Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had both western and Japanese options. Would definitely stay here again for a future visit!

The staff was lovely. They really helped me out arranging a (delicious) gluten free meal at their restaurant, even without reservation. Would book again!

Parking on site. Room was fine - enough room for two of us to have our stuff out. Staff was very nice and accommodating. They have cushions for you to borrow for going to the evening show at the temple, which was a nice touch. There's a grocery store within easy walking distance.

A little bit expensive for what it is, but it seems that this area was overall more expensive, given it is a touristy area.

This isn't right by the gorge but it's pretty centrally located. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a two bed room on the fourth floor for two nights. The room was gorgeous and breakfast was pretty good. Our biggest issue was the room itself. Being on the top floor, it holds heat and moisture. The AC only lets you set it to about 68ºF and isn't as powerful as units we're used to so when it rained during our stay the room was very moist and very warm. It made sleeping uncomfortable (the beds also aren't so comfortable and the AC shuts off when not in the room and we were out before bed to add context). I would absolutely stay here again, but I would request a room on one of the lower floors for April through maybe August. There's a place to put your luggage in the lobby before check in if you want to look around or eat and then come back at the right time, and the room was clean and tidy. It's really just the humidity and warmth of the room coupled with hard beds that made for an unpleasant sleep.

No facilities in the hotel which is just a sleep over for a day. It is close to Takachiho Gorge and other famous places.

Perfect location. Amazing service and staff. Super helpful. Comfortable bed and spacious room for a standard double. Highly recommended. Lovely hotel!

hotel is new. amenities are great. location is at the heart of the town (which has nothing anyway hahaha). room is great.
