Pros +
- The refurbished finished. The friendliness of staff
- Very beautiful location, seeing the monkeys everyday. Staff are welcoming.
- The facilities.
Cons -
- Didn’t stay long enough to determine what I didn’t like
- The breakfast was not really good and very limited. The beach is about a 22min walk away. The rooms need an upgrade. The zip of the cover on one of the garden stools on the balcony was broken. The cocktails was not of the best. I feel like more can can be done with gardening around the pool area, if the gardeners could just trim properly around the rock pavements where the palm trees are located.
- Information regarding the activities and places we could access within Zimbali Estate. It was our first time there, and we were travelling with a 7-year-old child, so we were not aware of the existence of Bushbuck Par

Breakfast was perfect but renovations in ur rooms and telephone service
View outside
The overall experience was great, the food was amazing, the staff was really friendly and accomodating
They tried to sell us timeshare. They said they were taking us for a tour of the resort, which I thought was really great but next thing they are trying to sell us timeshare, it WAS NOT APPRECIATED!
Beautiful views , nice location
Some facilities were limited .
Pool area, Bar area, Room Porters very friendly and helpful
Dining staff were not welcoming and made errors with billing
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, The property was exactly the same as the one in pictures.
We tried opening air conditioner and it gave us a very bad smell.
Warmest staff ever ,in the various roles.Zimbali is a whole adventure, had good fun within the property.security is tops!!Nice facilities, girl slept on a King Bed? Thandi's restaurant gave me a sweet treat for my birthday during breakfast,I was humbled at the gesture ?☺️ highlight of my stay !!
Nothing,I plan to come back soon
The room wasn’t cleaned. The curtains were not cleaned. The neighbor was smoking on the balcony and the smoke come into our room even at night.
I told them about the cleaning
The massage at the spa was lovely. The pools are warm so coming here in winter is not a problem. Being out there in nature was the most peaceful feeling. Zimbali lodge caters for your needs.
Lots of monkeys.
Location is perfect
The smell of sewerage and finding a bug in the sheets
Always a beautiful location and exceptional breakfast
Impossible to get hold of reception. And don’t get fresh towels. They took the dirty ones and never replaced.
The staff, especially the shuttle drivers. They were very accommodating and really friendly
There was no WIFI for the entire stay,no access to the telephone. There was spider web between the bed and the pedestal, the room had a very awful smell. The toilet had running water after flushing it
Wonderful experience! Upon arrival we were welcomed by Manish at reception and he was very helpful throughout. Terrence was also such a legend helping us with our bags etc. would definitely be back asap!
Everything, in touch with nature. Staff are very friendly. Would definitely come back again!
Security at the main gate, extremely unhelpful. We did not receive a code to exit, security literally walked away and we had to figure out how to get out by calling the lodge. Female security walked away while we were in line and other cars were behind us.
Not even sure where to begin. The lodge rooms are so, so incredibly filthy. You can actually see built up dirt from decades ago on the bathtub, shower, furniture and carpets. We asked for the carpet to be removed on the second day because it STANK so much we couldn’t sleep or sit in the room. We were moved to a different room but it was all the same minus the large carpet. We had to cover the couch with towels and doeks because you just can’t sit on it. I really do not understand why they won’t deep clean and upgrade the rooms for what they charge. There really is nothing worse than having to wash yourself in a dirty tub and shower. It was so bad we had to let go of 2 of the 5 nights that we had booked. We booked an apartment to sleep close by on the second last night (at a THIRD of this lodge’s price), and moved our flights a day earlier, so overall letting go of two nights at Zimbali lodge. You just couldn’t catch sleep. If you want to be at Zimbali estate just book the Capital hotel or any other place, not this lodge. The pictures are very misleading as far as cleanliness goes. They must be 30 years old. Sad because the staff were very nice, but that’s about the only good thing.
I disliked the beds, they are high and hard, not comfortable at all. Buffet breakfast, mushroom were black. Dinner, prawns were not fresh.
Location ,pool, view and beds were excellent.Receptionist were friendly and very helpfull.
Staff at the bar could be friendlierThe lodge neglected to replace our towels had to ask.
The pool and the smart TV (access to Netflix or Prime Video or any streaming service you use)
WiFi wasn’t working, property is very old! The door from the bedroom to the balcony wasn’t opening due to the very old lock. We had to get maintenance to come open the door for us.
