Tubo Tulum Hostel - Unique Stay

This hostel has very friendly staff and is very clean. Unique concept. For younger people who want a cost effective way to stay in Tulum is petfect and in a great location.

Shared bathroom is only downside--had to cook own breakfast that was included

Turbo Tulum was the best! Ritchie, Joel, and Yvonne were all very helpful with friendly, practical advice for food, activities, and transportation. My room was so clean, comfortable, and cozy! I recommend the partial day trip to the underground cenote, which they sell admission for — amazing underwater views of the caves, and reasonably priced. Easy to walk to El Jaguar Park beach (about 30 minutes to park entry) or catch transportation. Biria restaurant just a small walk away had good food.

A lot of thought went into the design of the tubes. All the things a person might need were there: air conditioning, storage space, hooks, lights, outlets for charging. The greater space had a nice garden with seating, cooking and meeting space. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The room is literally a bed, nothing more, you can barely stand inside the room.

A pretty cool hostel with individual "rooms" inside concrete tube sections. The "rings" seen in hostel photos are chunks of industrial concrete tubing cut cross-wise. Inside each ring is a bed spanning the diameter of the tube, a few hooks, lighting and an air conditioning unit.Pros- Private rooms for a very economical price- Very clean- Good air conditioning, adjustable temperature- Beautiful grounds- Well-maintained communal space- A big supermarket within a 5 min walk- Super friendly staff

- Next to a busy road with trucks and buses, very noisy diring the day.- A bit far from Tulum center and bus terminal, 15-20 min walk. As a side note, there is no public transportation, no Uber/Didi, and taxis are a mafia with exorbitant prices (not the fault of the hostel obv)- A single cloth for cleaning up in the kitchen that get yucky as the day progresses and no paper towels (I asked)- The floor inside the tubes/rooms is concave with no flat surface to stand on. It would be nice if it was fixed because the tubes in the common area do have a flat floor.

It is very well positioned for both reaching town and the national park with all the gorgeous beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Jose was a gem! He is so calm, professional and beautiful human being. Richard complements the place so well.

I loved everything. I came with my partner who is little older than me. We are 53 and 62 ) this by no means indicates the place is for old people!? it’s just the best hostel I ever stayed and it totally changed my perception on hostels in general.

The hostel is ideally located, very close to restaurants, bars, the beach, collectivo service and a grocery store. The hostel itself is an oasis of greenery which makes it very pleasant to hang around in the central courtyard. As a solo traveler who was planning on mostly moving by bike, Tubo was perfect! Each tube come with AC which keep them very comfortable even during a hot day.

The tubes are a little small and can get easily cluttered if you're not careful, they might be a bit cramped for two people

The friendliness. Richard and Yvonne were very helpful. All guests were very respectful. I had privacy and it was clean. Very Safe!!

The bikes were a bit run down in repair. I’m short so I would’ve really liked a step stool to get up into the bed. Frigerator could be larger.

Love the design, the staff is great, friendly and helpful, is chill and comfortable, loved that they have rescued dogs and cats.Environmental mindfulness and is a good place to do community!You can rent a bike here, is close to good restaurants, grocery shops and downtown

We started our vacation here and came back after 10 days. It felt if we came home ?. It was a good end to our roadtrip. We received also good information from Richard. Very very relaxing spot.

The scenery is good, a very well decorated place.Some staff were really helpful.

Did not have the (social) cohesion you'd expect of a hostel. Nobody really talked with each other, no incentives from staff or organization to create bond between visitors.Some staff can be a bit moody.

Very clean, great atmosphere. Green garden with hammocks in it. We loved the green spirit!

The atmosphere in the hostel is very friendly - especially if you love cats and dogs. :) The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.

If there were power sockets available in the communual area that would be helpful but internet connectivity and power is avaialbe in your 'tube'/room.

The men at the reception were nice and helpful

- really humid, all our clothes were wet and we got sick- the female manager was not good at customer service, she accused us of stealing the bikes, even though my passport was there

Cute little place that provides an oasis. Tubes are small, but comfortable. Common area & bathrooms are well taken care of and clean. Staff is super friendly & helpful.

Location wise its neither here nor there. Out of city centre (quite the walk from the bus terminal) far from the beach. But they have bikes to rent.
