    • Very out dated no tables or chairs in the room nothing to put your luggage and no space on sink to put hygiene products

    Cons -

    • Gorgeous setting in nature park, right on the beach. Amazing food. Staff are excellent. Manager David is a great host. Alito has unique vibe. Its totally intact with nature and is such a great getaway.
    • I wasn’t a fan with the seaweed on the beach. And I did find the drinks quite expensive.
    • The pool is horrible

The location is perfect But the facility is a bit dated and the pool was not inviting. Staff was very friendly and our stay was very pleasant. The chefs did a great job and the waiters were attentive. Just the room was not first class, but the price was right!

the pool is deplorable and the facility is a bit dated

    The setting, absolutely stunning!

The rooms are very basic, no facilities in the room, no full length mirror or hairdryer

    8MonicaPosted on: 9-5-2025

The location! It was not only right on the beach, it was also only 10 minutes to the ruins

The sargassum. We were unable to swim in the ocean due to how much sargassum there was.

    10LAURENTPosted on: 8-19-2025

    Close to Tulum ruins.

Breakfast is very very small portions.Dirty swimming pool , green water that we couldn’t swim ‼️‼️‼️.Also we had to pay extra fees to “ stay in hotel “ was not worth it !

I stayed for just one day in a bungalow and loved the experience of being surrounded by a beautiful coconut grove by the sea. The hotel is located within the national park and close to the Tulum archaeological zone, which can be visited on foot, although the park also offers internal transportation via small electric buses.

Sargassum: it is not the hotel fault of course, but it should be taken into consideration. Our main goal was not swimming in the sea but visiting the Tulum archaeological site, and since we only stayed one day at the hotel, the large amount of sargassum in the sea didn’t affect us (the trip took place at the end of June). On the other hand, I recommend avoiding sargassum season, as the beautiful beach in front was impossible for swimming and the smell was very strong throughout the area including the hotel premises. Additionally, since the hotel is inside a national park, it’s necessary to purchase extra bracelets to move around, which is an added expense to keep in mind.

The Alito Hotel Tulum is a delightfully earthy hotel inside the Parque del Jaguar. I found it wonderful and will return. However, it might not appeal to all, which is probably the reason for the mixed reviews. Why Was Alito Nearly Perfect? Peace and Quiet. Charming Huts on White Sand (clean space, excellent bedding, A/C, toilet, sink, and shower). One with Nature Vibe (sand under your feet, palm trees, ocean breezes, beautiful beach). Caring and Friendly staff (special people - Carlos Renato and David- front desk, Oscar, Luis, Jesus, and Abraham - restaurant, and Josefina - housekeeping.) Safety and Security (the park is overseen by the military, friendly officers, no one hassles you, no one trying to sell you anything on the beach). Big Plus - you can walk to the Tulum Lighthouse and Tulum Ruins (you are in the national park.) And, if you tire of walking, the transit system within the park is excellent.Recommendations: Deal with the Park Fees. The park is clean and secure, and peaceful. Rent a car (easy to arrange before your trip, or at the Tulum Airport) in order to avoid having to taxi in and out. A car will also be useful for trips to cenotes, other ruins (Coba, Chichén Itzá), restaurants and shops in town or at other hotels, and the Súper Akí for groceries and snacks. Deal with the Service Charge (griped about in other reviews) at the restaurant. It won't kill you, and it's actually less than you will find at many other hotels and resorts. And finally, bring a thermos or hydro flask for water as plastic bottles are not Allowed inside the park.

What Could be Improved?: The Restaurant Menu. Breakfast is very good, but beyond that, the menu needs a serious overhaul. The beach/lunch menu - though all over the place - is far more appealing than the limited and pricy dinner menu. Overall there is a lack of good vegetarian, as well as Mexican options. In other, the pool area is not very appealing - but you're there for the beach anyway. And though I never felt any threat, it would be nice if there was a safe in the hut.

Location staying right on the beach is amazing and the staff is absolutely fantastic! The wildlife is also so special. The beach is not crowded and the facilities, bar and restaurant is great ! bungalows bathrooms are not private as there is no real door or roof of the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower could be better but you are staying at a beach !

The bathrooms are not private so it’s just something to consider and the bungalows could use some more hooks to hang stuff on.

Customer service was awesome! The scenery was amazing.

The bed was awful. It was very hard

    8WilsonPosted on: 4-24-2025

The hotel is right inside the national park "Parque del Juagar" so you really get to disconnect from the world and just enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. It’s super relaxing, and to top it off, it has a beautiful beach front perfect for unwinding and soaking it all in.

Just a heads-up—while the hotel is in a beautiful setting, there are a few things to keep in mind. The on-site restaurant is quite pricey, and there's an additional fee since you're inside the national park. If you're someone who likes to unwind with a little TV, the rooms don’t have televisions. The pool is on the smaller side and didn’t appear to be in use during our stay. Overall, the hotel could benefit from a few updates, but the location and natural surroundings definitely make up for some of that.

Great location on the beach. We received upgraded bungalow for free. Thank you very much.

    8AikateriniPosted on: 4-15-2025

The staff, the location, the beach, the beach restaurant, and that special light, were all outstanding. We had a lovely brief stay that allowed us early, direct access to the Tulum ruins (as you are already in the Jaguar park), and a lovely time at the beach with the unique colours. The restaurant is at Tulum-level prices (i.e. expensive) but everything we eat was excellent and the staff were very efficient, fast, kind and friendly. The breakfast was very good too, and kids friendly, and mostly included. We saw no evidence of what other travellers complained of.

We stayed in a room in the main building, so cannot comment on other room types. Yes the room facilities are somewhat run down and simple, apart from excellent aircon which is essential. Do not come here if you are the White Lotus kind. If however you are not, this will be a comfortable enough stay, very clean and pleasant with its own relaxed charm and decadence in a simply unique and stunning location. All families and adults around us seemed relaxed and happy and we loved our brief time here. While expensive, and please factor in extra costs for access to the park (every time you enter) and separately the ruins, this was much cheaper than the more pristine resorts further up and down the coast, so overall good value for money.

The setting is absolutely magical and the staff super friendly. We also enjoyed diving with the turtles and stingrays.

We were a bit disappointed to not get one of the bungalows (which we understood we booked). Also, we were a bit confused on how the entry to the park worked as we understood if once checked in we would pay less, but we ended up having to pay entry fees daily.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bungalow was lovely and the surrounding area was beautiful and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful—special thanks to Carlos and his colleague at the reception for their warm hospitality and assistance throughout our visit. One suggestion for improvement: it would be more convenient if the cost of park entry were included in the hotel price. This small change would make the experience even smoother for guests.

Like:-location was amazing -food was good but expensive -located more remote-staff was very friendly -internet was good-free drinking waterDislike-located in el Jaguar Park-you had to pay for park entrance -rooms itself were run down-bed was small-no space to dry cloth or towels

Lovely beach and very exclusive location, felt safe

    Super expensive

    5GabrielaPosted on: 3-29-2025

Two good things: service, great attentive staff at hotel, not so much at restaurant. And nice well kept leisure areas. But the rooms where bad, basic, bare, not even a glass to drink from. Not a good deal. Plus I was sick and the restaurant did not have a healthy choice for me. Far to expensive for what you get in return.

    10AptekarPosted on: 3-9-2025

Not only is it directly on the beautiful beach, but there’s a bus system you can use for free to take you all throughout the National Park that the hotel is located in. It’s also walking distance to many other restaurants and bars on the beach.

Outdoor bugs, but that’s not the fault of the hotel. Just part of being in Mexico ?
