Shingu Ui Hotel

Fantastic as a one night stopover, for the price.The restaurant was closed earlier than expected but I still enjoyed a nice dinner at the Izakaya.

The hotel had no clothes' washing/drying machines (like others in Japan) so, I had to dry my clothes with the hairdryer after a day exploring out in the rain.

It's in a great location and convenient. Staff is nice.

The main problem is we were given a room that was meant for smoking and the room smelled of a smoker and we could not get rid of the that odor and the hotel would not change our room. Booking needs to make it clear to the hotel about non-smoking.

Location is good. Very clean.

A bit too business hotel like. They provide yukata but said you cannot wear it outside the room. Then what is it for? There is no big public bath so why provide yukata?

The rooms were big and well equipped. The air con was efficient and the room was very quiet. Although this could be because there were few guests.

The rooms smelt of cigarette smoke. We had come walking off the Komano Kodo. Walked 5 hours in the rain, we were sopping wet. The hotel seemed to have very very few guests, yet they could not accommodate a 1pm check in. They also do not have a washing machine facility.

Just between the station and the main shrines, post office (with atm) next door. Nice room with a bath.

Staff were very nice, service was good, could be better if more they can have more English

The bathroom is comparatively spacious for Japan standard. Room is clean and comfortable.

A bit warm in the room and I couldn’t switch to cold aircon mode as it is centrally changed to heater.

Ideal location ….. close to buses and trains, easy walk to places of interest, and safety.

Its location is perfect, near the train station and shops.

The bed was Extremely uncomfortable. Very hard mattress. Couldn’t sleep at all.The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices for local guests and very few for international guests.The smell of fried food (fish or other) was everywhere, in the lobby and in the room.

There is no power adapter convert for international travelers.

The location allows one to access the train at Shingu station or the buses at Shingu-kokomae. All within 8-10mins walk. Staff were helpful and allowed me to leave my bag before check-in. One can also buy breakfast for ¥1100.The room I had was quiet and the bed quite comfortable.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Hayatama Taisha - which was my main goal -, but it also close to Kamikura Jinja, which is also a great destination in Shingu. Great base if you're interested in visiting the Kumano Sanzan, close to the train and main bus station. Also, the hotel has its own restaurant where they serve the breakfast, but is also open in the evening serving dinner.

Nothing particular comes to mind. Great all around.

The room does not appear very modern but is quite large and clean.Free parking at the back. Good internet connection.

A 10-minute walk from the station but there a few restaurants and a convenience store nearby.

The room was lovely and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. They also have excellent service- I accidentally left my power bank behind and they very helpfully sent it to my next hotel within a couple of days. Would go again!

One or more light bulbs in the room weren't working and it wasn't enough light to do detailed work in the room. I'm sure if I brought it up with the staff they could've fixed it but it was the inconvenience of all that I couldn't be bothered with. And I felt things like light bulbs ought to be checked before someone else checks into the room. I also wish the cup in the room was bigger. It hardly holds any tea. It's nice to look at but not practical. Please can you include a normal sized cup in the room or at least have one available if a guest requires. I contemplated "borrowing" one at breakfast at taking it to my room.
