About

Desert Gardens Hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, some with a private balcony or views of Ayers Rock (Uluru). Guests can unwind in the outdoor pool, or at the restaurant and bar. Spa facilities, shops, tour information and cafes are conveniently located within a short walking distance from the property or via a free shuttle bus. Set among native gardens, each room at Desert Gardens Hotel includes a mini-bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a TV with movies-on-demand in every room. The hotel's Mangata Bar serves cocktails that can be enjoyed while relaxing by the hotel pool. Arnguli Grill offers an a la carte menu of traditional Australian cuisine. The Uluru Lookout is just 0.9 mi from the property while Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) is a 40-minute drive away. All guests staying at Desert Gardens Hotel receive free return transfers from Ayers Rock Airport (Uluru, Connellan Airport). This transfer service is available for this airport only. The hotel is only a 5-minute stroll to the lookout, where guests can view the desert sunset and Uluru. In 2024, Ayers Rock Resort became the first ECO Certified business globally to be awarded both Advanced Ecotourism and Respecting Our Culture certifications, recognizing our commitment to sustainability, cultural integrity, and responsible tourism that supports Indigenous employment, local enterprise, and environmental care. Complimentary airport transfers operate for all scheduled flights – no pre-booking required.

    Pros +

    • Beautiful location. Excellent staff. Excellent food. Nearby cultural center and hikes were fantastic.
    • Didn't know what to expect but very impressed with class of hotel. Its more 5 star than 4.5 star. Large , clean , quality rooms. Would definitely recommend. Very nice restaurant and bar area.
    • The staffs were very nice. Our building was a bit far from the front desk but no problem. The buffet breakfast was included and very good. Much better than a typical continental breakfast at Residence Inn or Spring Field Marriott that I stay exclusively.

    Cons -

    • Finding our room was a little difficult because of the layout. Better instructions need to be given upon check in.
    • One issue we had was we found used tampon in a box. Probably the maid didn't notice because it was in a box. Obviously the person who stayed before us did a good job hiding it.
    • The room was run down and tired, there was no info on daily activities in the centre,

The breakfast buffet and restaurant for evening meals were both v good in terms of both food and service.

The room was run down and tired, there was no info on daily activities in the centre,

This is one of the four or so lodging options outside Uluru and it was perfect for us. very friendly staff and above average rooms. The restaurant service in the evening requires reservations or you may not be seated in a reasonable time.

A calm cool oasis with many excellent guest amenities. I could retreat from the heat of the day and participate in their many hotel activities.

We appreciated the opportunity to get $10 food credit if we decline housekeeping.

The whole resort is too expensive.
