    Pros +

    • The building grounds, landscape and pagodas were excellent. The restaurant is great, staff is attentive and friendly.
    • Very classy. Everything about the place added to the comfort, the furniture, the layout, the staff, the artwork, the musical instruments. I didn’t want to leave.
    • Super friendly host and stuff, very kind and giving. Make exceptions and are curious of their customers.

    Cons -

    • The location is in a narrow alley, no walkable path to the beach, there was a strong smell in the room of phenylephrine so much that I couldn't breathe. The toilet area was open to the elements and had mosquitoes! The excerise facility was not air-conditioned so probably not usable (we didn't bother).
    • The place was a bit run down and it’s like proper house, so you can hear others from the room next door. But otherwise the rooms were clean and fully stuffed, had everything you needed.
    • Pool was Green and couldn’t swim.

Gardens , and surrounding area was really nice . The property itself self has a nice old Bali feel.

Pool was Green and couldn’t swim.

The most amazing place to stay. Sanur is the nicest area in Bali. The staff are amazing. The accommodation is perfect. They have scooters for rental. Pool is beautiful and the food is delicious. Cannot fault this amazing place.

Amazing hospitality! Got to meet the owners and they invited me to dinner. They really take care of the property and you can tell it has that personal touch.

    None, all good.

    4MattPosted on: 2-17-2025

a major disappointment and rather far from Sanur.

I expected a luxury room. The name of this place suggests luxury. But the room was substandard. The uncomfortable double bed was two single mattresses together. The shower room and toilet room wer both very small. This seemed more like a maids room. It was far from Sanur. It is falsely advertised. Even the breakfast was below the standard of a cheaper place in Sanur itself.

The pool area is really nice

Bathroom was a disaster. Puplic Toilet on the upper floor absolutely discussting.

Cheap and good for a one night stay

French-owned and operated. Not in a neighborhood for walking after dark although there is security and a fortified wall around the place. No walking to anything like a market or restaurant. Confuon during check in as I was sent to a 3rd floor apartment that looked nothing like what I booked. No one bothers to read requests from guests. Finally got to correct room. Wrong wifi instructions and another long walk to reception.

The hotel's ambiance is luxurious, warm and inviting leaving one feel more like a personal friend staying over rather than a paying guest. The charming decor throughout adds to the overall experience, along with Dewie and Patrick being the consummate hosts. The quality of food and drinks is exceptional, with every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. It's the small touches that add to the impeccable service - delicious peanuts served with a Bingang or lovely Balinese cake served with an afternoon tea, for example. The garden is next level fabulous and I enjoyed sitting in various spots admiring it, even in downpours. The staff here are absolutely fantastic and foresee what you may need prior to asking. Although this hotel is not within walking distance to too much, a driver is on staff and available to take you where you want to go. In the alternative, there are plenty of Grab taxis in the area.

I had booked a room with "private patio" but is actually shared with the room next door. The room itself was great but the bathroom needs some love - water did not drain completely after showers, area around sink rusting.

Property was very nice, grounds were very private. staff were really good and friendly very secure and very quite

Property is very isolated nothing nearby except a shop but taxis are very cheap so not a problem

    Breakfast was good

Far from everything. The shower emits an unpleasant noise, which is quite bothersome. It's also unusual and inconvenient that the toilet and shower are separated.

The villa is lovely with well designed garden and communal spaces.

Tge parking space is not enough for cars. There’s only one space for a car and plenty for motorcycles.

Beautiful place and facilities. Lots of places to lounge and relax, yoga room and gym plus game room with pool table. Good menu at the restaurant as well which has vegetarian options

    Not much within walking distance

The pool and the friendliness of staff and the owner, Patrick.

Delicious breakfast- three options each dayBeautiful garden and very helpful staffWe had room 2 and it was on the third story with a very nice outdoor area The villas are not in a very touristy area so I I loved being able to walk to the beach and not see other tourists. You get to see more authentic Balinese life Amazing massages available (I had two over 5 days)Easy to get Gojek to and from to get into Sanur mainThe property is a 10-20 Gojek from main Sanur (which was not an issue for me). Otherwise you can walk along the beach (crossing the river on the beach first) and get to Sanur port in 45 minutes Mr Dedy, the driver, was wonderful for airport pickup

Beautiful property, lots of well maintained plants. Furnishings and layout was beautiful. Very quiet and cozy feeling. Great place to just hang out and relax. Room was very comfortable and ornate. Very good A/C and wonderful private outdoor shower. Staff were amazing.

Location was farther away from public areas such as restaurants and shopping.

My stay at Menzelejepun Villa was unforgettable. The villa's blend of Balinese charm and modern comfort, along with its private pool and thoughtful touches, made it feel like a luxurious home. The warm, attentive staff ensured everything was perfect. Its peaceful location, yet close proximity to Ubud, made it the ideal retreat after exploring and then coming home to unwind. I highly recommend Menzelejepun for a relaxing and personal escape.

The room smells heavily of moth balls

There is an absolutely stunning, lush garden surrounding the rooms. It is really beautiful, especially the pond with fish that we were allowed to feed by one of the staff members! There was also a spot where you can play some games like pool, ping pong and table football. We used it a few times and had lots of fun. There is nicely lit pool with some amazing decorations. We liked it very much. Breakfasts were good, three different options to choose from, they were tasty.Rooms were clean although kinda dark but it wasn’t really a big concern. The toilet and shower were in separate spaces. The whole object was really nice, staff was helpful and did a great job. They answered every question that we had. There is also a gym, it is small but you can do a full workout if you need to!

Overall the whole object was clean we saw a rat once! It was near the pool area, hiding behind the flowerpot and ran into the bushes under the sun beds. The location was quite isolated but we knew it beforehand. Getting to the main road requires going through a small street where stray dogs are running. It was also quite far away from main places in Sanur.

Everything is perfect! Magical place... from the room, facillity, foods and staffs. The staffs really nice and helpful,

    Nothing.. wish we stay longer.
