A truly beautiful hotel in Sanur. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome. The facilities were superb and clearly very well maintained. The location couldn’t have been better — easily a 10/10 — with everything we needed close by while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. Our room was perfect: comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and would happily stay here again.Also HUGE benefit having beds available on the beach - what an added bonus!

Hotel is compact but room is spacious and clean. All the rooms are surrounding the pool. It feels like I am in a hidden resort. Nice balcony with pool view. Friendly staffs.

The staff was first class. They went above an beyond for my son's birthday - wasn't expected and was such a nice gesture.Understanding and very kind - all the front staff and receptionist as well as the restaurant and housekeeping staff.The only staff that wasn't great, was the greeter at the front. When we arrived, he just stood there and didn't offer any help. My female driver carried the luggage while I attended to my son and carry ons. When we asked him to take a photo of us, he just stared and moved slowly. Other than that, the breakfast was great, tasty and the hotel met my standards. Thank you to everyone for a great stay!

We were only there for a night. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The Bathroom was great with an open air shower and tub. The breakfast was great with made to order options. The coffee was good and the staff were friendly and nice. We had a good and comfortable stay. They were helpfull for making food for our baby also.

The staff, the cleanliness, the good bed and excellent hot shower.

The pool area is small and tight. The space seemed larger in the photos.

Hotel hallway is a bit noisy (which means that sounds carry, not that there is constant noise). Pillows weren't to our taste (subjective).

The Akana Hotel is located in a great area, with lots of shops, restaurants, and spas nearby. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach as well. Room was clean and had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. Would recommend!

The Akana beach area could have been more well kept. There was lots of trash on the beach, so it wasn't very pleasant. But it was easy to walk along the boardwalk and find a nicer stretch of beach to relax on.

It is not the fault of Akana, but a family group from Australia did detract from our enjoyment around the pool. I was somewhat embarrassed to be from the same country and went elsewhere until they left.

Staff were wonderful, hotel is very lovely, room was stylish and clean, and the bathroom was amazing. They also offered to pack me a pancake breakfast since I didn't have time to eat the morning I checked out.

Definitely on the expensive side, yet the hotel is not high end by any measure. Things in the room didn't work, like the coffee machine and TV (which was mostly static despite having good channels). The doors are sliding but look like swing doors which was confusing. I am sure the staff demonstrated the door when they showed me my room, but I was exhausted and weary when I arrived and didn't remember. So when I tried to leave, I panicked thinking I was locked in. The front desk came and opened the door for me. I felt like an idiot, but she said this happens often with guests. If that is the case, they need to put a sticker on the door reminding people how to open it otherwise it is a serious fire hazard.

The room was clean and efficient.

The floors would get wet from the poor AC not allowing the room to dehumidify. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open. The other guests at the property verbally assaulted me becuase I asked them to not smoke on my patio - that was by the pool. The staff did not handle this situation at all - the guests remained rude and yelling obscene language throughout the stay. The pillows were absolutely terrible on the bed.

Great small hotel. Excellent facilities and staff were exceptional and very accomodating. Good breakfast included. The only negative of whole visit was the lateness of room cleaning which was always mid/late afternoon but they made such a good job that we accepted this is their normal routine.

Positive:- Friendly and helpful staffs- Location is good- Breakfast is decentNegative:- The room is dark especially the bathroom (I was on the 2nd floor)- The sheet is not comfortable. It feels more like a plastic- The room service food was not so goodOverall it's decent but it's an old hotel. You get what you pay for. I personally won't come back.

Pillows were too hard & couldn’t be supplied with softer ones. Breakfast was very basic. Cleaning of rooms was not done until 3pm on first day. This was remedied on the next day following our request to have it done earlier.

Private little paradise, lovely breakfast, restaurant food good price and yummy, pool access room so comfortable with open air bathroom, staff are friendly and very helpful, could not do enough for us. This was our third stay and we will stay with Akana again on our next stay to Sanur.

The property looks like the photos provided and its clean (in Bali standards; some moisture damage). You get robes, flipflops, pool towels and the basic bathroom kit. At breakfast you can choose to have a cappuccino, if you so wish (at most hotels you have to pay extra). Breakfast is a mix of buffet and menu choices and its okay. The location in Sanur is good.The Akana was my first choice when I started looking for Bali accommodations, however, sad to say I was a bit disappointed.

We didn't feel entirely comfortable with our stay and check-in procedure. When we arrived, we asked for an early check-in and were informed that this was not possible (ok by us), thus went to have lunch at a nearby restaurant. When we arrived back another couple was just completing their check-in and was offered a welcome drink. When we approached the desk, we were swiftly asked to pay, however we were not offered a welcome drink. I am not sure whether this was down to the fact that we had just gotten off the early boat from the Gilis and Padangbai looked the part ((tired and windswept) or the staff simply forgot, but we did not feel treated the same.A/C was not working well and room was hot when we arrived. This was remedied by turning the A/C on and off (didn't notify staff) however by the morning the room was hot again. Not sure weather this was down to the location of the room (afternoon sun) or the fact that the A/C seems to be centrally controlled. One lightbulb on the nightstand lamp was not working properly. When we informed the staff in the morning they were eager to address these issues immediately, but we decided not to stay longer because of the below reasons.We had breakfast (included in price) at the hotel restaurant which was a mix of buffet and menu choices. The breakfast was okay, but the servers are very disorganised and disruptive at an early morning hour. During our breakfast (20-30 min) we were approached on approximately 7 occasions with queries relating to the food, drinks, our room, the A/C, etc. We felt we couldn't get a moments peace to enjoy our breakfast and coffee.We had booked for 1 night to decide if we wanted to spend the 2 remaining days of our holiday at the Akana. As the price was steep 2 nights/190€, the staff was overbearing and the room hot, we decided to spend a bit more (40€) and spent the last 2 days at a 5-star resort in Kuta. It was money well spent.

We stayed 3 nights at Akana. An executional stay, a friend was celebrating her birthday and they went out of their way to make it extra special and we are very grateful. The staff are what make this place! The hotel has lots of food and drink offers and some theme nights too. The room is a decent size and we really liked the pool area. It is walking distance to the beach and loads of shops and restaurants.

Beautiful little oasis in Sanur, close to amenities, beach and shops. The beds were the most comfortable we've had in Indonesia. We loved the balcony and the interior design. Staff were absolutely lovely, attentive but not intrusive.
