Menzel Ubud

I liked the cleanliness, quite, my private pool and view everything was so great, I will be staying with them again if I every came back to Bali.

Love the location, it is a bit our of hand but that makes it so special. You have a beautiful oasis in Ubud when you stay at Menzel. The Staff was super helpful and welcoming. Facilities where great, clean, absolutely recommend. The restaurant super flavourful, and great breakfast!

It does not look like the pictures!!!! Tiny main pool. Not a resort.

It does not look like the pictures!!!!- Rice fields look different not pretty - you have to book an expensive room, budget and deluxe are easier to the road, loud or in the building next door looks like motel- motel rooms you hear everything the neighbour does at night! - food portions tiny, I am a girl weigh 50 kg how is a big man supposed to be full after that kinda meal if I still feel hungry after one little slice of bread with a little avocado. - view out of deluxe room shown on picture

Breakfast was fine. So happy to get a good latte at the bar in the morning. I loved the whole place - beautiful grounds and gardens, lovely pool. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

I celebrated my birthday here and the whole staff surprised me with the most beautiful cake — honestly, it was so perfect I didn’t even think it could be from the hotel. They came singing “Happy Birthday” and made me feel truly special.The place itself is stunning… one of those hidden gems you almost don’t want to review because you’d rather keep it a secret. But it’s too beautiful not to share. Thank you for such a magical stay.

All was great: the facilities, the staff, the atmosphere, all the food. I saw reviews mentioning rats: we didn't see any, and even if we did, we are in the middle of the nature, these are things that can happen, we don't want the nature to completely disappear please. Anyway, it was 100% clean and we loved it.

Beds a bit too soft but that's really a small detail.

Hotel room was reaaally old, and my shower didnt work, there was no water at all in the first day, and no hot water in the second day. They offered a room to change only in the second day (hotel was full in the first one) but we just wanted to sleep. NO REFUND WAS PAID, even though we had to shower in our friends room. Unbelievable

The view from the dining room and the villa was unbelievable! The location is a little tricky to get to but it is well worth it! The restaurant was also fantastic

The only negative thing I may have is that the room had 2 king single beds pushed together to make a king size bed which is fine, however it was still made with king single sheets overlapping each other so if you are a couple that tends to sleep close to each other the sheets tend to split and then have no sheets left on in the night.

We liked pool and natural environment

Breakfast was very limited and not too many options - fixed menu and limited quantities. Additional items or change was asked for additional cost. The hotel is located at the end of very narrow street, so driving in the night was too risky in terms of of slip over into field or water channel, only one car can drive a time.

Very kind staff

I travel around the world and booked this hotel last minute. Honestly, I usually stay in 4- to 5-star hotels, and this place is not a 4-star. I booked their most expensive option — a studio for €74 — and I didn’t like it. The furniture is old and ugly, the blanket feels cheap, and the worst part is that the studio doesn’t even have a proper shower or toilet.I came from Lovina Beach, where I stayed in another wonderful hotel, so I was honestly very disappointed. The rooms look nothing like the photos on Booking. They moved me to a standard room, but the receptionist told me I had to pay an extra 100 rupiah. I asked how that was possible — I had already booked a studio, supposedly a better room — yet I was being asked to pay more for a standard one (I refused to pay because on Booking it was cheaper than the Studio). The standard room was at least better in one sense: it had a normal toilet! Thanks God. But the room was still not like the photos, and it was located right in front of the restaurant and not in a natural place.On top of that, both power outlets next to the bed were not working, so I had to charge my phone across the room, using the coffee machine plug.This hotel needs some renovation and better maintenance of the rooms. And please try not to don't sell a room for another room!

Our stay at Menzel Ubud was exceptional. I think the value for the price was spot on with the quality of facilities on the property and the amenities. We enjoyed the included breakfast every morning which had lots of great options, thought the welcome snack was super nice, and loved the ambiance of the property as well as the friendliness of the staff. Menzel is located a little bit out of the central market area of Ubud so it was really quiet but still close enough to hop on a scooter to get to all of the action.

The single thing that was below my expectations was the rooms that weren’t villas were on the backside of the property and didn’t have much natural light or a view.

I really enjoyed the restaurant area, it had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a beautiful view overlooking the rice fields. The food was absolutely delicious, and to top it off, they had live music on some evenings, which created a great vibe. We had a very good time dining there and would definitely come back for the experience!

We loved the breakfast choices and they were all delicious! The staff were very friendly and willing to go over and beyond to help! One of the days we stayed the entire island of Bali had a power outage and it was nice to know we still had power. I believe they had a backup generator which probably prevented us from experiencing what the island was going through.

We booked the standard double room and upon arrival we were taken across the street to another building where we stayed. The shower always flooded after one person showered and we repeatedly asked but they said it was cleared even though it remained flooded during our whole stay. The air conditioner stopped working but came back on after we got maintenance to come by. Overall the cleanliness was questionable. I believe this might be due to us staying in another section of the resort. Didn’t seem like anyone else who stayed in the villas or in the main part had these issues.

Breakfast portions could be a bit bigger

Location was Great, Plenty of sights close enough to walk to (if you are a walking type). Staff are very happy, helpful, and pleasant; the food was exceptional, but the choices were limited. It could do with a choice of snack-type meals, as none are available.

It was in a quiet location away. from the hustle and bustle. The staff were great, very attentive and caring. I particularly liked the balinese style villas. Rooms are very spacious,

Although I don't watch TV, it could have been impossible to use, because in my room it was set close to the window, facing a bedside table. Sitting on the bed meant that I could only see it sideways. No tables or chairs around the resort... just at the restaurant which was by the pool. It would be nice to sit somewhere to relax and enjoy nature without having to stay at the restaurant area. The rooms are not soundproof and there was quite a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms until late at night - the hotel should have a notice stating quiet time and respect after 10.

The food and staff at the hotel are fantastic. Couldn’t be faulted.

The property is run down and in need of tlc. We asked for our teenage children to be close by , however this wasn’t the case, they were on opposite ends of the hotel across a car park in a run down wing of the hotel. One toilet was blocked the other smelt of urine.
