Ubad Retreat, Ubud

I had a really relaxing stay at Ubad Retreat. The whole place has a calm, homey vibe, and the staff are super assisting and genuinely friendly—they make you feel taken care of from the moment you arrive. The room was nice and spacious, which made the stay even more comfortable, and I loved that the pool was literally just a few steps away, always ready whenever you felt like taking a quick swim. The location is also convenient since it’s close enough to Ubud’s cafés, restaurants, and shops, but still quiet and surrounded by greenery. It’s also an easy ride to spots like the Monkey Forest and some of Ubud’s nature attractions.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pineapple pancakes were great. Like that there were two pool options. Room was really nice. Great sun beds. Nice that it was quieter.

Shower was great but it was tricky not to flood the floor.

Me and my daughter booked last minute. No where did it say rooms faces a main ( Bali style ) road. Traffic noise was unbearable . No option but to upgrade. Staff was polite about it but nice to have known earlier

Lizard shit in washroom. Small issue if living amongst bugs but still.. hygiene.

My Superior Room was spacious, with a large sleeping area, a separate vanity room, and a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. The property has two pools that stay open late, perfect after a day out. The on-site restaurant is delicious and budget-friendly — I often ate in the city center, but honestly looked forward to coming “home” for a smile at check-in, quick room service, or chatting with other travelers in the dining area. Their happy hour is a nice touch, too. I’ve visited 29 countries, and Bali — my most recent — is one I’d happily return to, especially to stay here again. I had no problem with the property. It is about 15 minutes from out of town but they can get a taxi and the driver's they call are friendly and knowledgeable. There was nothing to not like. Family owned.

Staffs in this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good, hotel Facility is ok and the environment very peaceful. The location is good near to bali zoo, ATV provider, there is pepito super market near hotel location however you need motorbike or bicycle to reach it.

This hotel is a true gem. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home—it felt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. The area is peaceful and uncrowded, with hidden spots where you can truly connect with nature and slow down. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Gus, who generously shared insights about the local culture and their beautiful way of seeing life.Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quiet escape just outside the city, with easy access when needed. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning our return.

Staff were super sweet. Location was right next door to a retreat at Lumina. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

Very little soundproofing on room. I could hear noisy people in next room.

Little bit far from the Ubud

Very nice guet House a few minutes ride away from downtown Ubud. The place is nice, quiet, relaxing. Bar and restaurant on site, very good local and international food.Gus and his familiy are amazing people that will do what they can to help or make you feel good. Could be better: breakfast. Overall highly recommended

The property was good but expensive For a private room. But it had a huge round tub in the room with hot water, shower with hot water and a balcony.

Never Ever Again

Bad breakfast only 2 eggs and 4 pieces bread Room’s door can’t close. Two sides are open and roof is open too. So inside the room is like zoo ( spiders, ant, lizzards, frog) and outside monkeys :) Dirty rooms I paid 6 nights but I can stay just 2 nights.

What a perfect place! Sri and her crew are very accommodating and very nice. I stayed in the bungalow which has a beautiful balcony overlooking the second pool. Everything was very clean. Getting into town is about 15min by scooter.

Loved the set up, the cleanliness and most important the wonderful staff.

It’s not easy to walk anywhere from the property. Also, the onsite restaurant is poor value (bland, very expensive food).
