Hoshinoya Bali

This hotel must be one of the most stunning I have ever stayed.The premises are beautiful, sprawling, giving you a nice sense of privacy throughout the site. With jungle & greenery throughout. The villas feel very private and are worth the price. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms nicely designed, and it feels like your private home in the jungle. I loved the concept of the pool which felt like a river, canal, with small moments for privacy. We also made use of the bath often as it was a large size.Additionally, the staff is super professional & accessible, when you need help in coordinated anything from food to transit to Ubud. A special thanks to our driver Budi. He was one of the nicest people in our entire stay in Indonesia.The food offered is also really delicious and we ate at the premises often.

Serene atmosphere in the middle of forest of Ubud! Foods I tried were tasty and great, daily snacks also very good. Spacious room, high quality amenities, staffs also very polite and friendly with great choice of complimentary activities.

Location wise, a bit too secluded area so a bit difficult to find transportation. Not near the river but still can hear the sound of river.

Absolutely one of the best hotels we’ve ever visited.The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable - there was a Balinese holiday on our visit and they invited us to an annual ceremony they hosted with all the staff in the hotel temple. One of the best moments of our trip.Super special, a 25 min drive from the center of Ubud so the view and rice fields nearby are amazing. The outside area of the hotel is designed in such a way unique way. The room itself is beautiful. Great restaurant and activities for hotel guests to get to know the local culture.Really not enough words to express how much we enjoyed our stay!

The silence, the location and the service.

I loved everything

Everything about the hotel was beyond amazing. The suspended nests in the jungle were our favorite as well as the private access to the pool from our room.

Room wise the only thing I would want to comment on is adding blackout curtains. For some traveling it’s usually to disconnect and sleeping in is a big part of that. Food wise the coffee could be better.

Architecture and ambience is superb. Very friendly staff.

We had afternoon tea pre-booked but service was a bit slow. It’s almost an hour before we have the food served though they kept updating us on it and we had tea refilled. It was enjoyable just a bit slow.

A bit too distant from mainstream attractions

Beautiful location set in the thick of the rainforest. The resort design and connection with the land is really well considered. The dining options were decent overall, but the real highlight for us was being able to swim and enjoy the tranquility of the rainforest. The room itself was amazing - a perfect balance to of modern and traditional aspects.

Clean, great service, amazing swimming pool and good cages for a morning coffee with amazing view.

The food was expensive and small portions. The whole complex was almost empty, no clients .

Bathroom’s water was not hot enough. Changed the room was the same situations. We waste one night stay in the room without hot water.

Beautiful surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff, helped us with making bookings for activities.We had a lovely 90min massage in the spa.

The hotel didn’t feel alive, a bit desolate. Very limited room service menu, many things not available or had to order 1 day in advance. The room was ok, with a nice outside area and pool access.

it’s a bit expensive but it’s a unique Japanese resort. definitely feel like you’re staying in Japan. also rooms don’t have a TV so you’ll need to go out and about to explore.

Huge disappointment

I was very disappointed by my experience at the Hoshinoya hotelFor the price you are paying and for a 5 star hotel, the hotel is not at the levelFirst, the room service is not done everyday which is a first time in a hotel like thisThere are also specific time where you can eat at the hotel and if you are missing those times, you cannot have access to any food which is very bad knowing the hotel is isolated, we had to go through this unpleasant experienceThere are a lot of hotels in Ubud and I would not recommend this one
