Alam Jiwa Ubud

A fabulous, tranquil hotel, very conveniently located just outside the bustle of Ubud. Beautiful grounds, large and character-filled rooms, and a 20 min walk to Ubud proper through the monkey forest. Easy to use grab to get around, and lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. A terrific, tranquil base to explore the surrounding area.

Nothing! Would absolutely stay again

Absolutely gorgeous. Cool comfy rooms. Beautiful pool. Nice large outdoor shower. Free shuttle. Grab rides are also plentiful.

The mosquito net was kind of hanging down in the way. We did not need the net since they burn coils outside the front door at night. So a hook on the wall would be nice to hold the net out of the way when you are sleeping.

Exceptional staff. The grounds are beautiful and breakfast was excellent. We loved how quiet it was, while being an easy walk to restaurants and the monkey forest.

We stayed in the spacious two bedroom villa which was very clean and comfortable. The location is quiet and convenient to central Ubud through the Monkey Forest. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back.

A very minor detail…the bed pillows were a bit hard.

Amazing place close to nature. If you want to feel like living in a village while still be close to cafes and shops, you have to stay here. River right behind the room. Birds chirping. Lots fo greenery. And on a lucky day, you can see the volcano in the far distance. They have shuttle to the central area. Very friendly staff, greeting you with a smile. Nice breakfast, can also serve to the room.

Excellent staff and service. The gardens and outdoor shower overlooking the rice fields make for a very serene environment. You can order breakfast each morning to enjoy on your private patio, and the free shuttle service to town is great! You can also request free pickup, but we just used Grab for return trips (only around 60K). Monkey Forest is within walking distance.

We organized airport pickup through the hotel and it was a horrible experience. Our assigned driver Pak Bebas went to the wrong terminal (fine, mistakes happen, but it was how he handled the aftermath that was unacceptable). Instead of coming to get us at the correct terminal, he led us on a ridiculous rabbit chase-telling to meet him at a circle K, then at the arrival pick up zone, then back at arrival hall- all while screaming at us over the phone instead of listening. We dragged our luggage all over the airport while being yelled at by this man for over an hour.

It was so special, the villa was just fabulous.The staff all super helpful and friendly. It was an oasis for us. We ate around the pool one night and it was wonderful Cannot recommend enough!

An amazing place, beautiful garden, in the jungle. We saw monitor lizards and flying lizards and lots of birds. The staff were so lovely and thoughtful. They were gracious even while working on a major holiday, for them. The beds were comfortable.

My downsides are that there were lots of ants in our room. Also, it smelled really musty, disturbingly so. The mosquito netting is in desperate need of a good wash. We couldn't use it, it was so smelly and dusty. The walkway, near the monkey forest, to town was closed which required us to take a shuttle each way, with lots of traffic. I think this is temporary though.

The staff were so lovely and discreet. The villas (we booked 2) were to die for. Set on the edge of rice fields and jungle gardens. All very colonial and relaxing. Breakfast on the private veranda was a daily feast.

Just loved this place! We slept so well too. The location was great for walking into town and lots of cafes and restaurants very close by. The staff make this place even more exceptional. The design of the hotel is beautiful and it’s right next to some rice fields and farm. They offer a taxi drop and pick up into town as well, nothing was any trouble. Breakfast was fantastic too, lots of choice and very yummy. We will definitely stay here again

The breakfast was amazing and always promply delivered to our room by the super kind personnel - Thank you All for your punctuality and kindness! The wide garden and open air shower were all amazing - beautiful place!

The beautiful setting along a river, overlooking rice fields. Large rooms and spacious bathrooms with outdoor shower. Traditional Balinese decor all round and impeccable gardens, lotus ponds etc. Excellent complentary shuttle car service into Ubud. It was great that our group could order in dinner on the evg of our arrival - convenient and delicious! Breakfast options are varied and all of high quality. Some rooms have large outdoor terraces - great for lounging. Lovely helpful staff. This was our 4th stay here - and I hope to return again.

Wow what a gem! Really loved the area - it is very, very quiet, green, a lot of beautiful cafes, but still very close to the city centre. The hotel staff is so friendly and attentive! Ready to help with anything.

The staff were very helpful and lovely polite people. The size of the room and bed were amazing g and bathroom is huge and luxurious with an outdoor terrace overlooking the rice field with a small stream flowing below your residence were exquisite.

Everything about this hotel was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.We were four people with three spacious, spotless rooms. As a group we especially loved the size of the balcony which offered a table big enough to host a feast and a sofa to relax. The location is also amazing. It's slightly outside of the busy city center but still close enough to reach it within 10-15 minutes bike ride. Trust us, you want to be here - you have the nature views but you're still super close to everything. An added bonus was the hotel’s shuttle service - they bring you to places and also pick you up in the Ubud area.We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it!

Great privacy, with a fantastic large balcony overlooking Ubud’s rice fields and forests. Enjoying breakfast there was an amazing experience. The breakfast itself was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly, and they even provided an extra bed for our child at no additional cost. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby.

That said, being in the tropics, encountering some insects is inevitable. Additionally, the hotel’s facilities could benefit from some updates.

Outstanding staff/service; excellent location; beautiful Balinese decor/gardens/scenery; peace/privacy; great breakfast; spacious room/balcony; pool (large, clean, garden-setting); ability to order in lunch/dinner.

Parts of the property are looking worn/shabby (eg outdoor blinds, roofs, linen). Our first stay it was very peaceful and relaxing. This stay (our second) had large families with loud children who took over the pool area (sometimes unsupervised) and parts of the property.

The building we stayed in is very old. We wanted a functional kitchen but it’s not functional at all and we never used it. Here are also some old building issues. For an old Balinese / Indonesian style building it was interesting to stay but for the price we paid a lot of little details were missing like door handles that are falling off, dirty mosquito nets around the bed etc
