Wonderful, spacious rooms. Very quiet at night. The mattresses were not the best I’ve slept on, but the design and high ceilings of the room made up for it. Easy walking distance to the historical sites.

Loved my stay here! room was comfortable, spacious, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. loved having a bar/restaurant on site, the owner helped me coordinate tuktuk rides for all my excursions, was super friendly and helpful. location of homestay could not be more ideal!!! pool is beautiful and cleaned daily.

Facilities were very beautiful and the pool quite picturesque. Great staff, very helpful and attentive. Wish we’d been able to stay there longer.

We couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay here. The staff are incredibly friendly, always eager to help improve your stay and suggest things to do. Even if you already have a plan, it’s worth chatting with them as they might suggest tweaks that make your itinerary even better.For example, we weren’t sure about doing an elephant safari because we didn’t want to stress the animals. The staff recommended a guide they knew, which turned out to be cheaper than booking online. More importantly, we felt the guide respected the animals. You even have the freedom to say “please don’t go there” if you feel the elephants are being disturbed. That gave us real peace of mind.The breakfast is amazing, it had fresh fruits, juices, toast, pancakes, teas, and pastries. The pool area is surrounded by nature, giving it a very relaxing vibe. We stayed in an upper-floor room, which was spacious with great views over the pool. Just a note: if you’re a light sleeper, you might prefer a lower-floor room. On the top floor, you’ll sometimes hear monkeys running on the roof or rain pouring down heavily. Personally, I loved this as part of the Sri Lankan experience, but some might find it disruptive.Overall, I truly loved this place. The owner should be very proud of such a wonderful and caring team. Highly recommended and I already miss it

A few suggestions:- Some towels had stains (though they were clean)—maybe time for replacements- A pool umbrella would be great since shade doesn’t reach all the beds- Think about ways to reduce plastic use, especially water bottles (perhaps refill stations)- Breakfast portions are very generous, but it might help to share the menu with guests first so there’s less food wasteThey are currently expanding with new rooms, so expect a little construction noise for the next couple of months. It didn’t bother us much.

Everything! The location was amazing, it felt to be in a small paradise away from the chaos of the Main Street but still very close. Also, the pool was very relaxing and the breakfast amazing. Last but not least, the staff was incredible, extremely helpful in any circumstances and very cordial. Would definitely go back!

This was a gorgeous property, so green, and tucked away from the main road. The room was cozy, the A/C worked very well, there was a pretty pool, and the breakfast each morning was huge and delicious! Everyone who worked there was kind, helpful, and respectful. They helped with arranging 4 different drivers, including airport pickup. Really glad I chose this hotel!

Everything! Definitely our best accommodation in Sri Lanka. The staff were excellent. Our rooms were spacious and really well laid out with everything we needed and the pool was wonderful.

The location of Il Frangipane couldn’t be better…an easy walk to Siguriya Rock and not far from Pidurangala (definitely do both!) The hotel is simple but good and the pool was clean, as was the room, good shower, lots of hot water. The aircon worked well and our room was huge (two comfortable double beds) There were good places to eat in very easy reach, yet it was peaceful, safe and the guys running the hotel were friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

We booked Il Frangipane through booking.com for three nights as part of a bigger trip of Sri Lanka. Our room was delightful, we were ground floor looked onto the garden, pool and restaurant area. We are a family of four and had two large double beds - the room was incredibly clean. We booked half board and both the breakfast and the dinner served each day were plentiful and delicious. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff work hard, nothing is too much trouble, they are all really friendly and helped arrange our days transport when needed. You are a three minute tuk drive to Lions Rock which proved handy for our sunrise walk up. Raveen the owner also organised our collection from the airport and transfer to the next location, he was easy to communicate with and came back quickly with my (many) questions. We would definitely stay here again!
