Kalundewa Retreat

Kalundewa Retreat: 126 Acres of Nature, Only Nine Rooms Set across 126 acres of waterways, paddy fields, cultivated land and natural habitat, Kalundewa Retreat offers a rare sense of space and privacy, with only eight chalets consisting of nine rooms. Here, luxury is found in the freedom to inhabit a living landscape, surrounded by abundant birdlife, water, changing light and the rhythms of nature. The chalets are positioned across different parts of the estate, allowing guests to experience its lakes, waterways, paddy fields and views of Kalundewa Rock from within the landscape. Explore on foot or by bicycle, observe resident and migratory birds, enjoy kayaking and paddle boating, or relax beside the natural spring-fed swimming pool. Located approximately 10 minutes from Dambulla and 30 minutes from Sigiriya, Kalundewa Retreat offers a private base for exploring Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Now under the ownership of the Biomed Group, Kalundewa Retreat is undergoing a carefully phased refurbishment program to update its existing accommodations and facilities, while preserving the character and natural setting of the retreat.
