- Nice house in a tree. You are surrounded by nature and the sound of animals. It was a really nice experience. Just be careful to hide your stuff in the closets because monkeys get inside the house at night and search through your bags (especially food).
Cons -
- do not make any reservations here! this place is closed, they accepted my reservation and when i arrived no one was there, no email about closing, nothing. I had to find something else quickly. RIDICULOUS BEHAVIOR
- There are other residential properties around it, occasional loud music.Place was being refurbished so no food available on site.
- A little problem on the morning we left, we had no breakfast and nobody was awake (we were literaly stuck inside because the main gate was closed). Too bad the owners said to booking we had canceled the night and didn't come...

Very fun place to stay for a few nights with great staff including Udesh
Very basic with minimal creature comforts
We LOVED our little treehouse! Considering it was up a tree and we were in the middle of a cyclone where it did not stop raining- TORRENTIAL rain, we had a great time. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower were okay too. The staff were really friendly and cooked us some Sri Lankan food which was delicious- especially the Sambal! There were also a little family of dogs who belonged to the hotel- mum, dad and 2 puppies! They were so friendly and entertained us for quite some time! The whole place had a really cosy feel to it! It feels like you really are in the jungle!
As this was only our second night in Sri Lanka, we hadn’t quite got our head around the currency. We asked to pay by card or by dollars (which we’d been advised to bring with us) but they said we couldn’t and should pay in rupee. Luckily, we had enough, but when we looked at the exchange rate for 25,000 rupees to GBP later, we realized that they had over charged us significantly! This was really disheartening as the guys were really nice, and it was a great place.
Not Value for money paid
Cleanliness- When I asked for glass, it was really dirty because they hadn't cleaned it in a long time. Also, the bed sheet was not clean, so I asked him to change it, and he came and removed the dust and did not replace it. even the smell of the towels was very bad
Being in the jungle like environment.
Monkies attack . We are unaware of the issue at first.
location is very good and breakfast is exceptional
property needs some pest controlling system
We had a fantastic stay deep in the forest. The house on the tree was just what I always wanted to experience. Monkeys looking into the room was something that was the must in the morning. Very helpful staff always ready to please you. Very good breakfast and good food in the restaurant. Food was freash and yummy.
The bathroom could be a bit better as the water from the shower had very law preasure.
Very cool accomodation. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Very quiet and relaxing. Short walk to town
All was good
The tree houses are awesome. The bathroom is pretty basic and lacks proper maintenance (though clean) but the beds are huge and comfortable. Some units are closer to the bar area (noise). Some more secluded at the back. The bed is a bit too big for the room size. So you may not be able to wide open your bags. It’s an experience for sure, and we enjoyed our two nights here.
The place lacks maintenance. Mosquito nets must be replaced. Shower head was dripping water. It’s in nature, no luxury can be expected but small things should be fixed. Also the toilet paper was wrapped in plastic. No go for an eco lodge. The staff need a manager who would oversee all orders and give commands. They tend to mix up the order for breakfast, so waiting time can be long. Again with simple management actions, all can be fixed. If you’re used to laid-back service and can ignore minor things, you can enjoy your stay here.
Manager Mr.Madushanka & the staff gave us an excellent service and very delicious foods provided . Very comfortable atmosphere and ideal location for a eco resort .
Not didn't like , but we suggest to provide a cattle and some tea bags & sugar for the room itself , which they accepted .
Location wise it was good & the kids liked the idea of sleeping in a treehouse. We liked the food at the restaurant though more of a vibe at the restaurants in the centre.
The bathroom was dirty, dont think it was cleaned before us. Breakfast was mediocre. The rooms were very basic. Having no windows any noise or animal outside kept us awake. Very little lighting in the rooms and getting to the rooms. No torches were provided. Luckily we had our own.
Nice place to stay in the nature. Clean and comfortable. Thank you !
It was a really nice and new experience sleeping in a tree house. We had a lot of fun! Obviously, you have to deal with monkeys and some insects. The staff was really nice and helpful, perfect if you are an easy going person (as you should be, if you want to sleep on a tree)
An amazing experience overall, although the monkeys broke in while we were in town and stole all our food and drinks. Bed is very comfortable, this is definitely a try it once experience!
No WiFi in rooms, restaurant played music loud one night which ruins the experience of being immersed in nature. Don't expect good or any service, the staff barely speak English and seem to be terrified of speaking to guests so very difficult to just get a coffee or get your order taken.
The outdoor areas were quite nice. The restaurant, grounds, and balcony are pleasant places to sit and the jungle surrounds mean it’s about 5 degrees cooler.
This stay was honestly disappointing. The room was extremely cramped and it was difficult to move around each other or to get dressed. The mattress was quite dirty and the sheets had large burn holes in them. It was quite difficult to sleep as the common area played music late into the night - this completely ruined the “in nature” feeling and as the treehouse had open walls there was no way to block out the noise (not ideal when you’re up at sunrise to climb Sigiriya). A number of the bathroom fittings were broken. The hot water shower was only a trickle and had a strong sewerage odor. We had no running water for most of the night. When we checked out we were asked to pay more than our booking amount as they were using an inflated exchange rate compared to everywhere else in town. This added insult to injury given it was already very over priced considering the condition of the rooms.
It was a treehouse! We had one night. We loved it for the experience! Great location and good fun !
There wasn’t anything to dislike. Just be aware it was cash only.
The ecolodge is at a great location away from the busy street and the touristy center of Sigiriya. The grounds are well-kept and the treehouses seem of good construction.
Please be aware that the treehouses are very basic and on the edge of the jungle. This means that you have to deal with all sorts of animals: toilet-frogs, bats, monkeys etc. While the grounds are well-kept, the treehouse interiors could do with some work: the beds are a bit hard, the mosquito-nets have many holes (as do the bedlinnen) the shower is constantly dripping resulting in a continuously wet, moldy and slippery bathroom. To be fair, we didn't report the above to the staff. But this was also because most of the time they are not there with an empty reception. The present staff are very friendly and appear to want to do everything to help you, but they seem to be put there by their manager who is absent most of the day. Many questions are answered by a request to wait for somebody who might be returning to the lodge in 15 minutes (in reality 45-60 minutes).
Cool treehouses (though didn’t think could open up sides because of the monkeys).
Unfortunately it seemed that they had been busy the day before which meant they were out of sorts the day we arrived. It seems they forgot to order is a taxi to them (though they said theirs broke but that didn’t seem to ring true). They didn’t have food even though they said they would. It appeared we weren’t always being told the full truth which was disappointing.
