Jungle Hut Resort Sigiriya

It is away from city and inside jungle and very calm

No WiFi at all for 2 days even after repeated request they are just in process of recharging the WiFi

It was a horrible stayCouldn't sleep at night from insects and bugs inside the roomI also fin a frog jumping on my bags and beds at midnightKids were terrified We left even before having breakfast

Very unique stay! Breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly. Our kids loved the pool and we even had a late night visit from an elephant! The tree was very creative in our room, you could even hear it creaking when there was wind.

Little to no WiFi. Kids playground area was not very safe with lots of spider webs. The road was a bit difficult to drive as well (very remote)

The place is set in a lovely lush garden and has a nice little pool to chill off after the day. The rooms were spacious, the furniture was in perfect condition. The staff was really nice and friendly.

Indeed there is cc 10 minutes ride on a bumpy road but we thought the lovely setting was well worth it.

Staff was very friendly, both the guys in kitchen/garden as well as the manager. Food was very good. Kothu was fantastic. Swimming pool is clean

Good basic breakfast. Safari got arranged for us.Room was a bit dirty and drinks were a bit overpriced.A bit tricky to reach when its raining, but tuk tuk drivers will give their best to bring you there safelyVery nice views though?

The food

There was a mouse in our room on the first night. Very poor handling of the issue by the property owner. It caused us trouble, and we ended up at the tourist police.

It was hidden away, beautiful setting and the room is big and cleanStaff try their best to be helpful

The apartment is located in the jungle. The sounds of the jungle and swimming pool are pleasant. The room was clean. The staff was very nice.

We had an amazing stay at the Jungle Hut. Our room was spacious, very clean and had a great AC. The hotel is situated in a very lush garden right between the jungle and some rice fields. There are peacocks moving about on the road to the property, and the surroundings are beautiful. The staff were also great. Everyone was super nice and very service minded. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We had dinner at the resort one night, and it was amazing. We are a devilled beef and chicken kottu, and both were fantastic. The devilled beef is one of the best dishes we’ve had in Sri Lanka thus far. To sum up, we had a really good experience at the Jungle Hut, and it exceeded our expectations.We definitely recommend this place if you’re staying in Sigiriya!

Location was peaceful. Raw materials were there to deliver……

Room wasn’t properly prepared. No toilet paper or toiletries. No tea coffee water. Tv remote missing. Air con remote not working. Pool dirty. It had water boatmen swimming in it which means the chemical levels were too low and people will get sick. No cushions for pool furniture. We had 5 beers between us and they ran out. Next day they still didn’t have any more. No effort made here at all. Lackadaisical and poorly run there was no management just some boys. Manager just turned up to check in and take money. Oh and dinner (we only ate there one night) was so overcooked chicken and beef it was inedible. Like shoe leather. Lots of smiles but no idea how to run a place. Roy’s place (30 min walk) is 100% worth the extra. We had a great lunch there. Sorry guys. It’s a fail from us. All small things but collectively they just kept adding up.

The staff is really helpful.u will feel that u are living in the middle of a jungle. No need extra safari experience.

The Road to the hotel is in a very bad condition. Contact the hotel before ur arrival so that they will give the directions. Payment accepted only cash which is a bit headache. Food prices are bit over rated.

Well, it was an adventure getting there! It had been unusually rainy so many roads were flooded. It is also in the middle of the jungle, which is the best part. We had a very warm welcome and a lovely room. We were only staying one night and we were getting up very early to climb Lions Rock. When we returned we were able to have breakfast before we checked out. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great, service was great, pool was a delight and the puppies were so cute.

This was the most beautiful jungle retreat, we stayed here for one night and wish we had more time. Surrounded by nature and the rooms are to die for, exceptionally clean and furnished to a high standard. Big shout out to the staff who were lovely and always had the biggest smile.

A little bit out the way but then again, this is why we chose this location. To get away from the hustle bustle of the main areas

Quite far away from anything. Noisy room ( mainly due to guests and water pump right outside my window. so didn’t sleep well. And disappointed as no view and bars on window made me feel claustrophobic

The Location is amazing if you look for a remote getaway. The views are stunning and you can hear various animals at night (which can be also quite loud!). You should not be walking outside of the property at night as it can be dangerous.

There is no "real road" leading to the location and Google Maps will probably guide you through muddy roads with deep holes. Make sure to contact the number privided to get correct directions. If you don't have a vehicle of your own it will be quite pricey to visit the surroundings. The Manager was helpful, however he charges horrendous prices for "local partners".

If you really love the Nature … this is the best place to live with the natural greenery

The room was spacious, the accommodation is literally set in the middle of the jungle on one side and rice patties on the other side. Welcoming staff.Organized a Jeep transport when the local road got flooded.

It can get a bit noisy - firecrackers at night to chase the wild elephants. You need a way to move around - if you miss getting a tuk tuk from the owner you will need to walk a bit to be able to order Pick me.Internet at the higher floors is of varying quality.

The staff are wonderful- friendly and very helpful. The manager was exceptional and our rainy holiday was salvaged by his help in getting us out and about. All the people he recommended from tuk tuk drivers to jeep safaris to car drivers were fantastic. Also the restaurant served excellent food and very generous which is good because we ate at the restaurant each evening as had read getting tuks tuks back to resort wasdifficult due to rain and elephants! The rooms were comfortable.

We had two rooms for three nights and had no hot water the entire time we were there. Also not sure if there was wifi. We were there in heavy rain and the dirt roads surrounding the property were flooded. Also had to pay in cash and with the food bill we incurred over our stay used up all of our cash.

The hotel is fantastic. We stayed with my family for 3 days near Christmas. The Owner is an amazing person. On Christmas day he treat us a buffet with all the traditional Sri Lankan sweets which we appreciated very much. In the evenings we stayed and ate inside the hotel in a multi-hourly landscaped area. General the aesthetic of the hotel is in the climate of the jungle that exists all around and this is something unique. The rooms are spacious and clean, Very carefully placed screens to prevent insects from entering. Very good value for money.

Everything was very good. The hotel must be judged as what its name says, a hotel in the heart of the jungle. Therefore under this reasoning everything was perfect and a small mess we had the owner finally solved it so everything was good.
