Sanmira Renaissance Hotel

+ Staff was very friendly+ The hotel is very beautiful and the pool area is amazing+ Location. You have to walk a bit to the Unawatuna beach and city center (something I knew beforehand) but it's right in front of the beach. So it depends on what you want, but still I believe it has a good location

- Breakfast. We went during low season so I think there was less variety compared with other months. However compared with other hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka, the breakfast was not the best.

We had quiet a spacious room with a large bathroom. But nothing else to mention.

The breakfast was poor, no options at all (one of us was a pescatarian and had nothing much to eat). No lift, so was a bit uncomfortable to climb 3 flight of stairs and no access to beach.

This place is indeed a 3 star hotel. It was only a great experience from the start. The staff was very attentive and professional. Especially Ranga tried his best always to made our stay cozier and easier. The pool is well maintained. The rooms are amazing and the furnished with high end furnitures. We had a seaview room with a balcony where you can sit in the morning with your morning coffee. We also had a great breakfast from them. Our personal experience was 10/10 here.

Room had an amazing view of the sea and a terrific breeze making it the perfect place to chill out with friends. Location is conviniently located next to happening places. Hotel is very clean and very friendly staff. Reccomend to everyone

Located in the beach front and the view is amazing upon the balcony. The staff is very friendly and loved the pool. There is a safe and beautiful beach to have a bath in front of the hotel.

The breakfast is just a basic one but the portion was enough for two people. The noise from the AC machine was there throughout the night.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The dinner is very tasty!

We had a deluxe room with sea view. The view is amazing but there is a busy road just underneath, so it can be abit noisy at times. But we were still very happy, the view was worth it!

We liked the hotel. Very very helpful staff, delicious food in the restaurant. The room is quite well renovated. We were given a room with an ocean view. We are fried under sun and staff found the real ALOE vera for help us)The best pool ;) Very clear, calm atmosphere

Room is not clean. Bathroom is not that clean. Restaurant area is not clean and tables are smelling bad. I felt very uncomfortable staying this hotel. I don't recommend this hotel.

the was a mouldy smell but I think it was from lack of use of the room that’s all wouldn’t put me off staying again

... The location was good - only about 2 mins away from the far end of the beach. The swimming pool was large and clean.The building where we stayed (not the main hotel) was comfortable - it was in the process of being upgraded so the shower was new but there wasn't a TV, which we didn't mind.There was good a/c and a ceiling fan and a fridge!The breakfast was buffet style with omelettes through to pancakes, fried potatoes, 2 types of curry, fresh fruit, sausages... Very tasty!

The sea facing rooms are noisy due to them being on a main road - we changed rooms and got a lovely quiet one round the back of the hotel (in a separate building) looking onto the pool.

Our room was very spacious and the view of the ocean from the balcony was incredible, definitely worth paying extra for. The pool area and garden was nice. Food was excellent, especially the Sri Lankan curry, the portion was massive as well.

Staff, even though kind and friendly, seemed unkoordinated and had low understanding of service and predictability. Breakfurst was, to say the least not adopted for a european clientel. Background music in eating areas should have been banned by the Geneva Convention and humanitarian law.

its nice place. peoples who works there very nice and friendly. this place has a big pool with nice surrounding. very close to beach.

wifi doesn’t work at all. A/C doesn’t work properly. Breakfast is so so …….

We really liked the staff - they are very pleasant and kind, try to do everything you to be happy and the pool at the backyard was nice, but we didn't swim in it as we arrived in the evening and checked-out in the morning

We was dissapointed with the room uncleanliness and the food in the local restaurant - it was not tasty at all. We didn't have towels and washing facilities in the bathroom, we asked to bring it but they didn't and when we came back to the hotel at night the security guy helped us and brought the towels. Thanks him for that!

Location was good. Stewart was very friendly.

Breakfast portion was not enough for a person. Cleanliness was not up to the level. There was no facility to have a shower before taking swim.
