The room was large & the view was nice. The room was very.clean & very basic. They did have 2 security guards all night.

Needs to be a bit more modern with key cards.

Everything! Staff, room, breakfast, swimming pool, aquarium, location, facilities, decoration! The best stay in Mirissa!

It was clean & a block from the beach. Rooms were spacious & bathroom also. Nice view of town ^ ocean. They were quick & responsive to a request from our room.

The restaurant didn't seem inviting. The front grounds weren't too appealing but the fact the had security during the day & over night was nice.Need to update to better door entry instead of old keys. .Not enough counter space in the bath but for 1 night it was fine.

So dirty and old, but I guess this is considered “basic” in Sri Lanka.During breakfast the staff asked if I wanted fresh juice or tea/coffee, and I asked if I could get a bottle of water instead. They tried to charge me for the bottled water and only offered a glass of water for free. I didn’t even want to touch the room key—it felt so dirty—so I’ve been using tissues to hold it. And of course I couldn’t take the glass of water.I also struggled a lot with the room key. I really wish they used a card key system.The Wi-Fi was good, though.Nothing in Mirissa felt beautiful to me. Maybe it would have been better if I had skipped Mirissa altogether.Sri Lanka is basically India.

Breakfast was quite enjoyable with a good variety of options to choose from. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a warm smile. Their hospitality added a pleasant touch to the overall dining experience.

The swimming pool itself was great, but there were too many crows around the poolside, which led to litter falling into the water. As a result, the pool wasn't as clean as expected

The staff here are lovely and the location is good. Vipul at the Gatsby was so friendly and helpful and the food was decent there. My only issues were the tiny ants in the room - I switched rooms and they were in both - and the black mould in the bathroom on the ceiling. These issues stopped me from feeling comfortable in the space.

Amazing place, the restaurant up the top served spectacular food! The bar staff were all very friendly and made some great drinks!The rooms were very big and large bed. Perfect location! One of the best pools we have swam in!

Great spot with ocean view from roof top infinity pool -just across the road from beach. Room was nice - large with concrete floor but limited items provided - 1 towel each, 1 sheet on bed - no coat hangers or blankets. Ok for 2 nights - no room servicing provided.

Excellent location, comfortable family room with partial sea view from the balkony. The beach is just accross the street, 2 steps away. The restaurant on the rooftop is great, food is fantastic, view is beautiful to the big pool and the ocean. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel was clean, but we had issues the first night with noises from construction at a nearby hotel. We asked to move rooms and the hotel staff were accommodating and therefore our stay improved.The breakfast is ok. It is a short walk to the beach and other amenities so the best feature is the location.

Location was great, everything is near. There is nice pool on the top. It was clean and spacious.

Isolation was bad, you can hear everything from the hotel.

Somerset Mirissa Blue hotel was excellent! The staff working here were exceptional!I was here with my husband, my 5 year old and 1 year old.All of the staff were very kind and accommodating and happy to help for whatever you needed. Buddi was very kind to us and gave us lots of great advice and helped us with our whole trip of Sri Lanka as Mirissa was our first stop. He helped us with great, tours, places to go, places to eat and taxis too. He looked after my family very well and we will never forget how much better he made our holiday. It’s a new hotel and very clean and looked after and the roof top pool is stunning! They were really accommodating at the restaurant too which was so helpful for us as my children are fussy eaters and they made it much easier for us. Thank you Somset for such a lovely stay.

Size of the rooms

Tv did not work, no tea coffee provided had to ask another room I booked the bed slats were broken and was then unusable had a meal in the evening and we had 3 meals which were 2,900 rupees but actually charged us for a steak meal at 9,500 rupees it was soon adjusted but if one of our group did not notice we would of been stung for a steak meal

Lovely rooftop pool with great views. Location good for the beach.

The room was at the rear of the hotel and looked out over a scruffy building site with rubbish strewn beneath the balcony with clearly no attempt to ever tidy it up. No desire to use the balcony as a consequence. Disappointing for the price charged for the room. Fridge didn't work although after a couple of requests it was eventually working.

Hotel location is excellent as just across from the beach. The shops and multiple resturants were within walking distance. The hotel staff were able to help with booking sightseeing options such as whale watching, Yala National Park safari plus decent priced commute to airport.

Breakfast had no Sri Lankan food most mornings - catered for western style breakfast. Loud music played on the 6th floor for hours at night (on weekend not as bad weekdays).

Had to request towels twice and toilet roll in my room which I would have expected to be in there when the housekeeping was done and we asked for pool towels one morning but were told they would not be ready until lunchtime
