Bundelkhand Riverside

Great location. Really beautiful. Feels like the real India, as does Orchha. Food is very good. This was our first night in India following a long drive from Delhi. It’s like diving into the deep end of India.

Whenever you need assistance, such as for example the AC remote did not work and had to be replaced, someone is quickly there to help, but then they stand around waiting for a tip.

This was originally a hunting palace and it retains all its former charm from manicured gardens to bakelite electrical fittings. It felt like we were transported to a bygone era. We had a river view room which was stunning. The room was large and very comfortable.

We were really disappointed with the pool. The water was cloudy and we don't think the pool pump or filter system was working. The water in the overflow channels smelt really bad and was stagnant. The restaurant served a nice evening meal but many of the breakfast items had been reheated and were not very fresh.

Very noisy due to cars blaring their horns until upto 1 am.Dangerous looking wiring. Immersion heater failed to heat the water. Bathroom is a century old!

The location of the resort is wonderful. Food quality is good and food is tasty.

Behaviour of staff especially on reception counter is not upto the mark. Man on reception was rude and uncultured . One sales manager was also very rude and unprofessional.

Loved the resort property, the humble staff, the lovely homely tasty food. Moreover the breathtaking view of Betwa river on the backside ❤️

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. We had a great experience. Location of the property is exactly as described, by the river. You can walk up to the river to enjoy amazing sunrise. We ordered plenty of food items from the menu including vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes which we found to our liking. Staff was courteous and available on call. We saw some reviews about issues with cleanliness of the property. However our rooms were spic and span including the washrooms. So no complaints there.

The most beautiful hotel. The dining room was spectacular. Feels like you have stepped back 100 years although it isn't that old. While we were there they were re-tiling the pool, so we couldn't swim.... but there wasn't time. Really a gem.

Very Bad expérience :-(

It's a shame: I booked online and what was my disappointment when I arrived. The swimming pool is under maintenance (that's why I came here!), there is work going on all day long which makes the stay unlivable. Furthermore, the team is not pleasant (bad welcome and not a smile...). Very bad experience despite the beauty of the place. Finally, it takes a 10-minute walk to leave the property... And then no tuk-tuk passes on the road so to go to the city center it's really a bad choice!

The location was absolutely beautiful and so was the property! The staff were really kind and nice!

There were insects; also I woke up with red rashes only to realise much later that there were bed bugs (some of which I ended up carrying with me!!!)

The hotel has very spacious and nice rooms with a good bed and is close to Orchha. We had a nice view on the river

The swimming pool was quite dirty and the food in the restaurant was pretty bad. We had biryani veg and with chicken which were not very tasty and far too much koriander. The murgh tikka was the worst we had in India.

It was a great place close to Orchha on our road trip between Shivpuri and Khajuraho. The peaceful location overlooking the river and wildlife were absolutely idyllic.The room had a strong heritage theme and could be best described as shabby chic. Good aircon and good night's sleep.The shared tip pot seemed very fair on the staff.

The room lacked a fridge.The bathroom was basic but adequate. I regret having the rice for breakfast as, with hindsight, it may have been reheated.The credit card machine would not let me pay in rupees, so I ended up paying in cash to avoid a 5% conversion charge.
