Pros +
- Proximity to the ski resort was easy. Just had to walk about 7 mins up the hill. The western room I booked was huge, it could easily have fit an entire family. Great common space area with a fire.
- Loved the location, the room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the slopes. Breakfast was plentiful and range of foods. Onsen was lovely. Staff were helpful and friendly.
- Locating was the only redeeming aspect of my stay here. Otherwise, I did not enjoy my stay here and it paled considerably when compared to my other 3 hotel stays in Sapporo and Asahikawa.
Cons -
- The manager left much to be desired. When I checked in, he told me that the hotel had 2 restaurants for dining. When I went to the dining room an hour later, the receptionist told me I needed a reservation and that they were fully booked. I appealed to the mgr indicating that I had just arrived at the hotel, how was I supposed to have a reservation when I just checked in. All he would say was "sorry"... that's it. Note: there aren't many places close by to have a meal. Regarding the hotel and room itself, OLD. old furnishings, old run, old bathroom. They still had the very old cubicle bathroom that every hotel I've stayed in over the past 5 years has renovated. Terrible. The toilet seat didn't fit it's place so it wouldn't stay in place when you raised it. Not good for a male.Expensive hote given the quality of the room Very disappointed.
- No bar , to have a drink after skiing and a night cap .
- While functional, the room decor was very dated. Bathroom was a tiny Japanese style capsule. I had chosen this hotel because it had an onsen. However, it was really a basic bath that is unsupported/unmanned, with no service. There were definitely non hotel guests who brazenly used the facility. There was surprisingly no coin laundry facility, which is a necessity for a ski hotel.

Close to mountain , and had a shuttle bus.
No bar , to have a drink after skiing and a night cap .
Excellent variety of food for breakfast in a spacious room with plenty of seating.
Excellent value, cozy warm comfortable. Convenient 8 min walk to Kitanomine gondola + great food!
Front desk staff were pleasant. The daily but limited welcome drink spread was a plus, as was the provision of a shuttle bus service to the slopes. The food trucks near the hotel provided some food variety at low cost. It was a plus that the shuttle bus from CTS airport stops and picks up right outside the hotel driveway, which minimises lugging suitcases and skis in the snow.

Excellent sized rooms and amenities for a ski trip. A perfect mix of modernization and traditional Japanese hospitality. Exceptionally friendly staff in a warm and clean environment.
Hot springs and baths were sensational after a days skiing.
Bathroom was woefully small I could hardly fit on the toilet. No wardrobe or storage area. Hotel was extremely frugal on simple things like hot drink facilities etc. Breakfast not included why? I paid.
Staff were so accommodating.
Need more cupboards in rooms. Nowhere much to put clothing. Drawers were full of towels and Onsen outfits. Shuttle bus needs to run at 8.15 so.you can get in queue for lifts and not have to wait so long. Didn't realise until day 3 I could actually turn heater off. Said it was controlled by office and never mentioned it could be turned off. Couldn't read The dials in Japanese.
Close to Kitanominecho has a shuttle to the slopes.Friendly staff.
The rooms are outdated. The beds are hard and the pillows to soft.
the onsen and free snacks/wine around the fire in the evenings were great. They were so kind to me and were flexible finding me a room when my other booking was messed up (neither of our faults). There were lots of other little nice things including the onsen pyjamas.
i stayed in a three different rooms (not their fault) with views east, west and north. All good. however each of them had those modular old school bathrooms - however i saw a bunch of east facing rooms on the third floor that had really nice bathrooms. So try to get those rooms 301-308ish. Also, i rented skis and boots from them for 7 days that were half the price of rythmn up the street. I couldn't tell the difference, so if you are an average skier then i would use that option. HOWEVER i realised that i had miscounted the days i needed the gear for and only needed it for 6 days. They would not refund the additional day even though I was returning the gear a day early, which seemed a bit cheap.
Proximity to snow lifts. The onsen was lovely. Rooms a good size.
While clean and comfortable the rooms are a little dated.
Overall great value for money, good location and bonus use of shuttle to Gondola or Furano Ropeway. Staff we found very helpful and attentive.
No laundry or coin laundry facilities.
Location, staff and welcome drinks were all fantastic
Would be nice for more understanding of foreign visitors who may have tattoos, being banned from the onsen is an outdated mindset especially at a ski resort
Everything is as expected. And I would have rated it high had I not stayed in another hotel (at similar price) during the same time period, which is better (that other hotel was unavailable during part of my visit). I guess that explains why this hotel has availability while the other one doesn’t during the busy part of the week. That said, when the better choice isn’t available, this one is fine in and of itself.
In comparison, this hotel is not as good value as the other . The main drawback is its location, not close enough to the slope, nor anything else (town). Not even the bus into town has a stop nearby. So, it’s either a walk in the dark and cold, or taxi. The restaurant menu is limited. So necessitates eating out. Moreover, the hours are equally limited. It closes about the same time the last schedule transfer bus from the airport arrives. No grace period for patrons getting off the bus with empty stomachs. Further more, there’s a small concession which has a few food items (instant noodle soup, crackers etc). It would have come in handy with the hungry gang getting off the bus. But, although there’re other staff around, they didn’t offer to sell anything eatable.
A walking distance to the ski lift. Warm & comfortable. Excellent ski locker room too.
Nothing to dislike.
Close to the ski field and hotel provided a free bus service to and from the ski field. Great onsen to relax and warm up after a day skiing
Some of the staff were extremely patient and helpful. They went out of their way to help me when I was a clueless foreign tourist. The hotel is conveniently located near the ski resort and there are shuttle buses that send you there and pick you up at certain hours of the day. Morning breakfast was a buffet spread which was very nice and filling but a little expensive. Really liked the fireplace and sofa on the 1st floor where you can chill and drink something after a long day of skiing. There are some food trucks right outside the hotel that serve fast, delicious, and affordable burgers, noodles, crepes, and tortillas.
Nothing much. The room looked a bit old and the toilet was quite small but still passable. Dinner at a restaurant was quite hard to find because a lot of restaurants were fully booked and there weren't many options in the Kitanomine Zone. For some reason, the hotel said I could not make a reservation in advance by phone - I don't know why? I relied on the food trucks a lot for dinner.
The location and overall services were very good. The food and refreshments were also satisfiable. In conclusion, the stay was enjoyable and it is worth coming back again next time we revisit Furano.
However, some private facilities need to be fixed or developed; the toilet in the twin-bed room was too close to the wall and, especially, to the toilet paper holder (as it was squeezing with our leg while sitting), this gave a somewhat unpleasant experiences every time we use the toilet in our room. Also, the temperature in our room was too hot even when we turned off the (heating) air-conditioner; we also contacted the front desk to ask for adjusting the power but, due to the staff's limited command of English, we were not successful; still, the staff tried his best by giving us an electric fan that (rhetorically) saved our lives during our sleep. We understand that these are small details, but improving them would certainly guarantee even better memories and impressions to the guests.
