    Pros +

    • The buildings and facilities were old, but everywhere was clean, well-organized, and convenient. It was evident that a lot of effort had been made to accommodate family travelers, with thoughtful touches throughout.
    • The breakfast was very good, with both Korean and Western options. However, none of the advertised restaurants was open for business. They seem to have excellent playgrounda for small kids. There are no restaurants around the hotel either, but there is a public bus with rather infrequent schedule. Is is only a 10 USD ride to the entrance of the Odaesan Park, though.
    • Although the place is a great choice for families with kids, the breakfast provided did not worth the money at all. Also the restaurants are super expensive. For such a hotel resort with that level of facilities for kids, we really expected better breakfast. You definitely need to take some food with you if you plan to stay 2 nights like us.

    Cons -

    • Since the building is old, the soundproofing between rooms and the gaps around the entrance door were noticeable, allowing noise and hallway light to enter the room, which was a bit disappointing.
    • Restaurants or room service food options.

Comfortable rooms, good size, nice balconies with blackout shades.

Everything costs extra. The pictured pool and kids area were very expensive on top of room costs.

Very kids friendly hotel with many facilities like kids Cafe, animal farm, indoor and outdoor pool. Very good breakfast in the morning with some options for the little ones.

Everything is a bit pricey. The pack for the outdoor and indoor swimming pool is 40,000 won per person.. Kids don't stay in the swimming pool long enough to justify the price..One day I even asked for an extra blanket and they wanted to charge 22,000 won per night... I would prefer to pay more when booking rather than having all these small fees adding up

The facilities for kids were great. The food was out of this world and I mentioned this to the chef at breakfast.

The staff were not clear in communication and often had conflicting information. The one restaurant that was open was great in German of food, but the opening hours were confusing, often waiting times when the restaurant was clearly not fully booked and plenty of tables available. Seemed hotel was understaffed as they could not even help with luggage. I found this a shame as I had a toddler and was traveling on my own.

The location is great, really close to Yongpyeong ski resort and Alpensia ski resort. Great amenities for kids! Our daughter loved the kid's world play area.

The room was a little outdated, showers had rust on it, ceiling was chipping in the bathroom.

    Family friendly, relaxation

    Bathroom was a little old

The hotel was clean and staff were very nice. The decor was very cool with Olympic themed items. The kids play area was nice and the pool was warm. We had a problem with the race car bed breaking and the hotel was very understanding and got us a new room.

Breakfast was just really expensive. Not feasible for a family of 4 to have breakfast there. It would be better if they had a more realistic children's rate for breakfast.

    8VickieLiiPosted on: 11-17-2023

Great location for families and kids with big open grounds for kids to explore, even a small animal farm. Rooms were comfortable and big, with glamping grounds for the more adventurous.

Location is on the way to Odaesan, but it's a little remote - Not much else around the area. Thankfully there is a convenient store within the hotel on L1.

Great hotel, very reasonably priced. Pool and sauna were included in price.

On first evening there was no dinner to be had at the hotel, and on 2nd evening when we had dinner it was not great. Breakfast is expensive for what you get. Pool closes quite early at 7pm.

The location was perfect, and the hotel was very nice and well decorated. the room was comfortable, and worked out great for our family of 4.

The parking in the front got a little crazy and even though the snow made it hard to see the spots, a lot of cars were parked anywhere they could which made it hard to navigate through the parking lot. underground parking was full but the secondary lot in the back was available. The water pressure was not very good in the bathroom but it did not hinder our trip, just not our preference. The signs for dining did not match the actual times it is available, but it wasn’t a big time difference, only 30 minutes.

The pool is really nice for kids, and the sauna was an unexpected treat. We were blown away once we started exploring the grounds. It's a destination in itself! Overall this was a great family-friendly stay.

The water in the kids car room couldn't get hot enough for a comfortable bath or shower, but we decided to just shower at the sauna and it was a great way to start the day.

Kids friendly environment and facility. It was our first family trip with 1 year old baby, and everything about this hotel was fantastic.

    Wish breakfast time was longer

    9BenjaminPosted on: 6-19-2022

Spacious rooms, and the grounds with the French Gardens were spectacular. I feed the deer multiple times at the little petting zoo, and enjoyed it immensely. close to the entrance to Odaesan National Park and located in a secluded valley.

Sadly the pool was not open, no water. Some road construction nearby with accompanying noises…starting at 0700.

    - Super clean rooms,- Excellent breakfast taking into account the eating habits of foreigners as well. So you will not have Korean breakfast option only.

-Kensington is not a ski hotel and unfortunately there is no shuttle service between the hotel and the ski resort. So if you are staying in Kensington for skiing and did not drive here, one way taxi ride to Alpensia will cost you circa 20K wons and more than 25K wons for Yong-Pyeong.- If you do not get the buffet dinner which is 100K, your only options are burger, pizza, fried chicken, pasta and steak, one option for each except for pasta which I guess had 2 options.- We were staying in 3 rooms on 2 different floors and 1 room in each floor did not have hot water at nights and early in the morning. Do not know why but you might not be able to take a shower as you wish.- They start playing music in the garden at 7:30am every morning. It does not matter which floor you stay since it is so loud and wakes you up.

the bathroom is very dirty. there were so many insects. and they didn’t clean well the room. the room is dark. the floor

I didn’t like the room! they didn’t clean it well, especially the bathroom. buffet breakfast food is not good. and the set up is terrible. I didn’t like that there were so many insects! it was scary the whole time coz we stayed there with our 8months old baby.

Recreational areas around hotel were nice (gardens, animal farm)

Bed was hard as a rock, not comfortable at all, when I asked for a better they said they only had that type of bed available.Asked for sheets to be changed and "new" sheets had damage and stained, when manager came to change the "new and clean" ones ALSO had stains, when changing again the next set of sheets had HAIRS on them!! After this the next set wasnt even a double bed size, apparently they didnt have any more... so we ended up with TWO single bed sheets... HORRIBLE experience, never in my life had this on a 5 star hotel. Also, hotel is in the middle of the mountain, remote location, has two restaurants but doesnt even offer room service... especially with the pandemic
