The Royale Krakatau Hotel

Spacious nice quiet room facing the swimming pool and the golf club.Buffet breakfast with variety of options south and north east asian, continental.

we needed a taxi to drive us to business meetings, and card payment resulted in a much higher cost than previously agreeded.When we asked for payment invoices and receipts, that was difficult to produce.

Staff were friendly, especially the front desk. Offered to assist booking taxis etc. Pool looked good (didn't enter as was full when I visited), and golf course looked great (also didn't sample due to work commitments).

Room was really disappointing, not sure how this is classed as 4 stars. Was not in the hotel directly, instead in one of the rooms beside the hotel in a separate building.- Almost all the door handles were about to fall off from the door, all visibly damaged.- Multiple surfaces clearly not clean, thick layer of dust / grime.- Shower looked disgusting, could see the mould within the showerhead (which was clear plastic, so could see through).- Mosquitos got into the room every night. Only ever opened the front door to arrive / leave, all other doors and windows shut. However, mosquitos got in every night regardless and woke up with numerous bites. Not entirely the hotels fault, but also would expect the room to be sufficiently sealed for this purpose.- Beware, there is a mosque at the corner of the property. Not a major problem, but there are multiple speakers throughout the hotel grounds, including right beside the accommodation. The soundproofing in the rooms is so poor, that the call to prayer at 04:45 in the morning cuts right through as a wake up call.- Room generally looked very dated, worn and in need of a refresh - paint thinning in areas, tiles were dirty and mis-matched, stains in the bathroom floor and shower etc.- Room safe didn't work.- Staff in restaurant were friendly, but very poorly trained. When they showed you to your seat, they would stand right beside you pressuring you to make a decision on food and drink instantly, had to be asked to leave to give me more time to actually look at the fairly large menu. I ordered a starter, that arrived 10 minutes after the main, no apologies or anything. And then when I was ready to the plates to be cleared and order dessert, after 25 minutes of waiting and trying to catch their eye, I gave up and left. Then at breakfast, they would try clear your plate instantly even when there was food still on it! Had to ask a few times to just wait, I wasn't done...- Food itself was very average.

Old room need redecoration and the AC was not working properly even with maximum setting of temperature and fan.Bathtub in the bathroom is potential hazard of slip and trip as it not equipped with non slip mat and the toilet flush button is missing a piece

The breakfast is delicious.

Repairs in the bathroom were not done properly, unbecoming for such a classy hotel. The window is difficult to open.

Great location with very friendly staff. The room was perfect and so was the food.

Some things need an update like the lamps in the central hall - most of them nog working and dirty.

Rooms, pool, breakfast are so good!

Near industrial location and the access to the hotel

The room is really comfortable, bigger than other hotels with same price, there's netflix in the room and good bathub with spacious toilet
