Gamalan Spring Hotel

The service recovery was top notch!! When i arrived, it was too early check in, but when i finally checked in, it was too late to use the outdoor roof facilities (4-9pm thereabouts). The duty manager promptly called one of the sister properties, and got me access to their facilities the next morning, thankfully!!

Unfortunately, turns out it was a public holiday, so the price point was steep.

Location is excellent just next to Jiaoxi Train Station

Location is good, staff are helpful and friendly . Room was a bit small for 3 people not much space for our luggages and no sofa and sitting area. Onsen inside the bathroom was good.

The breakfast room is very big and the choice of food is huge.

The check in time is 3:30, no exception, we arrived at 3pm but they just won't let us check in. The reason is not our room is not ready, they are very strict to let you know it's the hotel policy?? It is not busy at all. I booked a double room with one double bed, but they actually push together two single beds with two comforters. The room is damp and has a stinky mildew smell. The light in the bathroom is flickering. There is no toilet tissue in the bathroom, although they have the bidet toilet seat. When I travel in Japan, almost every toilet has the bidet toilet seat, but toilet paper is always provided too. The washroom in the lobby floor is dirty and toilet paper overflow from the garbage bin.

Our room was nice. We love the hotspring tub. Extra bonus point for the automated toilet seat with bidet. I just wish they have onsite washer and dryer. The nearby laundromart is about 3-5mins walking. The breakfast spread was okay. Free parking lots are available. Their staffs were helpful when i requested extra towel for my kid. There are outdoor hotspring at the rooftop. But i didnt got time to try.

Bed a bit soft. But some may like it.

Staff was very friendly and approachable. They were also very kind to assist when my aged parent accidentally broke a glass. Superb service.

It is so close to the train station. You should take the train operated by the Taiwan Railroad and the station will stop right in the town and you get out and one and a half block is the hotel.

They did not allow early check in and the room will not be ready till 3 pm

Facilities, roof top hotspring jacuzzi no clear instruction. Maybe improve at the outdoor foot bath, mosquito control.

Hotel room is spacious, clean and comfy. There is hot spring bath in room and I enjoyed it a lot. Many shops and eateries surrounding the hotel, which is very convenient for traveller to find food and do shopping.

Convenient parking. Great location. Walking distance to the busiest parts of Jiaoxi.

The king room balcony, room 307, was right above the parking lot, so really don't see a need to get a room with a balcony. At 8pm, we complained to the reception that the air conditioner was too hot. They sent a mechanic up to check the AC. After an hour, it got really cold and when you turned down the AC, it got really humid so we had to keep it AC at 19-20°c but the AC unit was REALLY LOUD. It was like sleeping next to an airport. Google reviews had mentioned a week ago, someone staying in the same room, 307, complained about the AC. But obviously nothing was done about it. When my husband called to ask if there was another room we could change to because our toddler couldn't sleep due to the noise, the woman asked us to find another place and they wouldn't charge us a cancellation fee. Where am I supposed to find a place at 9pm on Christmas Eve? Instead of only caring about fully booking all your rooms, perhaps spend some time maintaining and servicing your AC so that customers can get some sleep. I paid over $4000 to sleep in a fridge that sounded like an airplane engine. Please train your employees to communicate to customers with respect and fix your faulty AC.

Do not even consider this hotel after seeing the words 'bed bugs'! If I could give zero point, I would! Found BED BUGS in different rooms, both families in separated rooms were bitten. Dirty & smelly carpet toilet and bath tub need a good clean.Rude receptionists, no help for luggage/ strollers.Lobby is very unwelcoming, very small & chaotic.The only have one tiny lift to serve the whole compound.Breakfast spread is good but the unorganized serving arrangement made it very crowded.As we heard, Taiwan is renowned for its hospitality, but we were so disappointed by the end of our trip after changing 6 hotels, definitely not coming back.

The roof thermal pools & room baths. Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable beds.

I like how cosy the property is. Perhaps because it’s not a large hotel, the staff were especially attentive. They also paid great attention to cleanliness. The restaurant staff can be seen cleaning the food station every 5 min, and topping up food items even though they were far from being empty.

Nothing! It’s almost the perfect hotel that I’ve always been looking for.

Good location close to downtown, hotel staff are nice and good service. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends if they come to 礁溪.

Breakfast may need improvement such as food variety compared to other hotel I have stayed.

We enjoyed the hotspring facility in the room.

There was limited electrical outlets and they are not anywhere near the bed side.
