Cafe Pinnalanda

The location is very good and it's just opposite the Elephant Orphanage. Breakfast and Lunch (Asian Food) excellent. It's a little spicy, but nice.

Only one TV channel was working, and the message was pop-up " subscription payment not done". Due to nonpayment, other channels were not working. Suggest to place dustbin in the toilet and tissue box in the room.

Very clean, spacious room, big bathroom, only there’s no hot hot water but it was ok of taking quick shower, comfortable bed, AC, very close to river where elephants taking a shower. Across the street is elephant orphanage. Sri Lankan breakfast very tasty.

Very friendly Manager Mr. Priyantha. The place was very clean and tidy. Supported us even when we arrived late night to the place. Answered calls on time and kept on checking on us.

There was a tea kettle but wasn’t work and no coffee, tea bags.

Unfortunately, no electricity or water for many hours, and no back up generator.Breakfast was poor, wasn't offered tea or coffee or juice, only got fruit, when I asked for it, was just a disappointing stay, but, the Elephant orphanage being so close by was fantastic.

The hotel is decent overall—comfortable enough for a short stay and conveniently located just opposite the elephant sanctuary. The staff were helpful, (communicate basic english) The room itself was fine, but it wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped. Some dust in the corners and a less-than-pristine bathroom gave the impression that housekeeping could be more thorough.

The breakfast was included, but it left much to be desired. The options were fairly basic, they serve Sri Lankan breakfast and they also have option for bread and butter/jam with fruits. Adding more variety and improving the quality would go a long way.

Super clean, spacious room! The value for money is amazing here. Really close to the elephant freedom project which we visited! Staff were so friendly and helpful! I would reccomend staying here in your visiting Pinnalanda.

Food is very good. Service best. Super clean. Room is very good for couple. Hot watet normal watet has in shower room. Super facilitys. I mentioned that Mr. Priyantha best of service .Thank you cafe pinnalanda.

In front of the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, you can park the vehicle in front of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful I actually forgot his name one of the staff ( a small guy) was very helpful.The host was also very friendly and a great value for our money.the room and Bathroom was very clean. Bed was very comfortable and large.

Some people will come to charge the parking ticket, but please ignore them and let the hotel staff know about that

Very nice bed and pillows, good price for this accommodation. Unfortunately, no any discount to see elephants. And if you come to this hotel by car or bike, the parking is free, don’t pay any guys over there.

Location is very convenient to visit the Elephant orphanage & zoo. They have a hotel downstairs. Can take food from there. There are lots of closerby places for food as well. Room is good. Spacious, Clean with basic amenities & hot water & AC. Enough parking space front. Prices are reasonable. Ideal for a night stay during Pinnawala visit

They tried to confiscate & keep my National ID with them until checkout even after paying fully during check-in. According to Sri Lankan law no person can keep someone else IDs except by a law enforcement personel. Besides we have to keep our IDs with us all the time we are going out due to the prevailing condition of country. After explaining this they returned the ID. But this whole incident ruined our pleasant mood for the whole day. The receptionist is good & understanding & diplomatic, but the incharge/owner isn't. Could hear him yelling even to upstairs. This is the first time similar thing happened to us. Btw, if you are concerned about privacy & security - the rooms can't be locked from inside. Anyone with a key can openup when you are in.

Good place to stay

Door lock is the issue. Someone can open the door from outside. No lock from inside.

The staff greeted us at our tuk tuk and took care of our bags. Our room was nice and clean. There's a mini bar, for a fee, and a store right below. It's directly across the street from the elephant orphanage. In the morning, around 10:00, you can watch a herd of elephant cross the street. Quite a site

The room was quite spacious, very clean and well equiped. Also the bathroom looks pretty new. You can enjoy some fresh air at the balcony. The location is perfect and just across Elephant Orphenage.
