The room was clean and staffs were friendly. The safari arranged was good.
Such good value! We booked a safari through the staff here (before we arrived) it was excellent! We had a jeep to oursel
The hotel is very good, and the location is excellent. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff were very friendly and treated us well. However, the front desk staff were not as friendly or welcoming as expected. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay with good food and service from the restaurant team, but the front desk experience could be improved
The food was great. The staff were lovely. The grounds were constantly being maintained. The location was great for our safari. The cheeky monkeys were entertaining and the bats at dusk over the pool were incredible. And the open air bathroom was fantastic. And it was all spotlessly clean
The property was great! Room is very spacious and clean, pool was clean too.

Friendly staff, good location and were able to organize a safari. Restaurant breakfast was good. Cool outdoor shower/bathroom. Pool was great on a hot day.
Room AC, power and wifi were unreliable.
Loved the luxury tent and great shower. Restaurant was also really good
A bit more expensive safari vs alternatives
Great starting location for a safari. Beautiful rooms with outdoor bathrooms. We booked the safari also directly through the Kottawatta Village and had a great safari guide. Friendly staff. Pool was nice, in general clean place. Good value for money.
Stayed here for the Safari visit. Pool was lovely and room was great although no AC and could not work out how to use the internal phone!Restaurant was fine but very slow service waited and 1 1/4 hr for a pre-booked dinner!Lots of monkeys to amuse us all too.
Amazing- great safari lodge! Amazing safari with Santa! Our amazing safari guide! Thank you! Alex and Steph!
Great location. Swimming pools are great to cool down in. Very clean.
Restaurant service is incredibly slow. Over 2,5 hours for dinner. Very noisy with crop bangs going off all day and into the night.
Room (tent), pool, restaurant. All the staff were so helpful. Good value for money.
Rather noisy road and neighbours ( next site) made worse by bank holiday celebrations so mainly outside the control of the owners.
Good location and nice staff! Pool was also very nice!
Outdoor bathroom wasn’t like expected and wasn’t so clean!
Lovely tents and fabulous outdoor bathroom. Showering with monkeys watching from the trees is not something you do everyday! Room a bit cramped with an extra bed in it but was fine for one night. Staff were really helpful and friendly
Breakfast was excellent. Good variety and choices, attentive staff. View from balcony was peaceful.
Staff could have been more attentive. Tried to reach via phone over 10 times while en-route, without success. The tent was quite a walk from the reception area, it was raining, and the staff (who were wearing raincoats) did not think to offer umbrellas to the guests. I turned back halfway, returned to my car, grabbed my umbrella and made it to the tent. The deck chair on the balcony was broken. As regards value for money, it was good. Walls were thin and the floor shook when neighbours walked, but this is not a shortcoming, but simply the facilities provided for the price point. However the service shortcomings I experienced are unrelated to the price point. These shortcomings represent basic customer service.
Great as a base for doing Safari, but not so good for in the local area in our opinion. We felt we had to use the restaurant for all meals. The restaurant was nice and the staff were very good, particularly Saman. Food took quite a while to cook, which was surprising as it wasn’t busy. Somethings were missing from the menu, but food was good and reasonable prices. The safari was excellent. Our guide was amazing and got us to a good location and we saw lots of animals and we were very happy with it, we think his name was Santie. The highlight of this trip so far. Go here for the safari. Good pool which we enjoyed. Loads of good wildlife seen from the camp as well. Monkeys, fruit bats, hornbills and eagles. Highly recommend.
The 'good' score given is relative to the budget price level it charges. It has many excellent dimensions, but also serious shortcomings; up to the reader to determine what is dominant. The hotel is really a village, spread over a larger area with 2 pools and 3 types of rooms. Even a lake with 2 bridges crossing it in the middle! Our luxury tent was nice and spacious; curious hardly usable lounger chairs inside and outside won't appeal to all. Lovely outdoors bathroom and still good working AC in the room, and even a hammock in the garden. Nice largish pool. Good dinner and breakfast, though servicing sometimes leaves desires unfulfilled.
Maintenance maintenance maintenance. Needing to walk to the restaurant at night over the uneven paths and stairs and seeing a considerable part of the lighting broken is bad. Having a bathroom light that does not work, and the handyman called in cannot fix it, and then having to shout to get a replacement room is bad.Kitchen can be a bit chaotic (meals served in wrong order and in one case even to wrong table), but let's call it a bad hair day of the cooks. Very unstable WiFi sadly belongs to this price level and the fact it's a large area to cover.
