The space was open and clean and the staff was very accommodating and helpful

Convenient location, easy access to attractions and restaurants. This resort is suitable for family stays.

The area was spacious and the greenery beautiful. The employees were friendly and helpful. If we needed anything, our needs were dealt with asap. A truly very good stay. They attended to all our needs in a great way. The food and breakfast buffet did not miss anything! Close to the beach.

There were very few guest, and we felt a bit alone. But this did not affect the service we got. Very close to the beach, however there were some clean-up on the beach, so we had to walk a bit to an area where we could swim.

Everything! The staff is more then amazing, very clean and beautiful hotel. The house is so comfortable for families! The spa is the maybe the best I’ve ever been! Thanks for a perfect holiday for us

Location medium, next time I would stay closer to Halong city.Restaurant staff seemed very unorganized, no service at the pool area, very long waiting times, leaving eaten dishes on the tables for hours, …

Our villa was exceptional. We were able to open a fourth bedroom at an additional cost. Master suite was stunning. Had our own pool which we used at night. Resort was very quiet so service was quick. Enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. An ideal one night stay before going on a boat cruise on Ha Long bay

The bikes you were allowed to use couldnt be taken out of the resort and they needed some TLC as tires low pressure and couldnt change seat height.

Over half of the dining and bars were closed. When asked if they would open the pool bar, they said no as it is low season. Had to walk to main restaurant if we wanted any service. Limited English skills from staff meant that basic requests took a lot longer to get what we wanted. This sometimes also made prices unclear.

The property was perfect in terms of available amenities, location, pricing, and view. My family and I truly enjoyed the villa. The hotel staff went above and beyond to arrange various shuttle requests, cruise and Spa bookings, and were most helpful when my husband was unwell. The Spa personnel provided superb customer service and massages. The breakfast was varied and delicious, as were the dinners we had at the hotel’s restaurant. The overall ambiance at the hotel was most pleasant. We will be certainly coming back here, in fact Oakwood Ha Long is the only place I’d consider coming back to in Northern Vietnam, we liked it that much.

There was no cutlery in the villa, but when getting room service the cutlery was provided, so it wasn’t that big a deal.

Our stay was fantastic. Upon entry, we were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and size of this resort.We came off season, so we had the breakfast restaurant to ourselves and the restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a set menu breakfast for our first two days, but there was still a lot of choice and large portions, but on our third day we had the buffet which had even more choice with lots of different styles of food.The front desk staff went out of their way to help and advise us and were very useful and professional.The villa itself was much larger than we were expecting and the bed and bedding were really comfortable.Would love to go back and stay again!

We stayed in Oakland during Chinese New Year over 8 nights with 2 little kids. The hotel is exceptional, perfectly managed. The staff was extraordinarily engaged, professional, friendly. The breakfast was superb. We had a beautiful house for ourselves, which was build in a very high quality (e.g. regarding the materials). Every morning, several staff members cleaned up every corner (every surface, under the bed, windows,...) of our house over two hours. Within 10 minutes, you reach a large adventure park, a cable car, and the ferry port for Ha Long boat tours. The pool area was beautiful, decent gym, the beach was great (huge sand beach with the Ha Long Bay mountains in the background of the ocean.. spectacular). And they had an own 2-level house as a kids club, open from 9-5.

Evening meal menu was too limited and occasionally poor standard.It is a pity the staff didn’t offer any trips from the hotel although they did arrange the Ha Long bay boat trip which was very good.

Nothing, it was perfect

I loved everything. Accommodation size, price, service, location and breakfast buffet. We rented scooters through the hotel. They where really beat up but we got to explore the area.

Dinner, we ate at the restaurant one night because we arrive at night, tired from a tour. The food was not good. Which contradict the breakfast buffet wich we loved.

Modern, stylish resort-style accommodation in Ha Long - a great base for those looking to stop over before a cruise. We did a 2D 1N Lan Ha Bay cruise and stayed at Oakwood the night before - it was ideal. Ha Long is a strange place as it's a ghost town, and though the hotel was quiet we had a great stay, using the gym and pool and enjoying a great breakfast.

Check-in was a bit strange with staff more interested in processing deposit payments and holding charges etc than making us feel welcome

Big units (large houses), large facilities (gym, pools, spa, restaurants). Great pastries and food.

Besides reception staff not many understood English. The area is a no man’s land — it was likely once thriving but covid seemed to have killed the area. Many buildings deserted or never been occupied. Nothing to do in the vicinity. Lack of tourist likely is killing the capital invested and in the hotel too: bikes are out of age, no equipment (cutlery, cooking utensils…) in the accommodation, kids club closed, even people outside the hotel come to use the gym — are they paying ?

Awesome house/villa with great rooms, spacious and with a garden. We were a family of 8 on a short one day breather after a Ha Long Bay cruise before going to Sa Pa. We went there probably off season, so we did not experience any crowds. Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed some sun and spent some hours lounging around a nice pool with an along side restaurant. On departure we were given 50% vouchers to the cable car at Fansipan, but did not realize that in order to use these you need to present them with your passport.

I cannot speak for in season, but off season it feels slightly empty.

The area is quiet, very relaxing and private. Unfortunately we stayed for a short time and the weather was not that good. Very good breakfast. Comfy beds and pillows. The room is big but cozy. Staff is friendly.

It would be nicer if the villa has cutlery and a few plates, since there was a kitchen. Would be better if the bathroom offers bath bomb or something for the bathtub, it might complete the experience.
