Ha Long Essence Boutique Hotel

It was really comfortable, everything was clean. Room and bathroom were big enough, beds are perfect. Room had good equipment. The price is really good for what you get. We had a nice stay!

Location not perfect, near the beach, but a bit remote from bars, restaurants. Staff barely speaks English, was a bit hard to communicate.

Staff very helpful when having to cut trip short to help refund the extra days booked.

Not much around. Only one restaurant Mr Cue which was terrible.

We stayed for two nights. Everything is very good. The staffs are kind, professional and helpful. The room is clean and has everything we need.

- its a very good three star hotel- large comfortable beds- nicely decorated - price per night is fair - helpful staff in booking taxis and giving area information

- Being on hassled on check out to leave a review, we would have happily done one in our own time and given a 9/10 (as we were happy with our stay) but we werent allowed to leave before doing so and then the receptionist told me it couldnt be a 9 and had to be a 10. They then took a photo of the review and called the hotel owner to check we were allowed to pay and checkout. Hence why we are adjusting this review score down. Honestly its not worth the 10% discount they offer you to leave it, as it has to be a 10. They are now sending us WhatsApps which just seems unprofessional, I feel bad for the receptionist as they seem to live in fear of the hotel owner. -this isnt a fault of the property but in low season its a ghost town, no where to even get dinner we ended up going to a store and buying instant noodles. We ended up going to a hotel a few roads down and paying to use their pool and facilitates for the day. If youre staying in the area get somewhere with a pool or at least something to do during the day. Nothing to do at the beach either, no beds, cant swim in sea. If youre doing a cruise go straight there. - we had to change the dates of our arrival which we have done at lots of hotels in Vietnam and have never been charged an extra day. Especially as we were the only hotel occupants most of the time. It was hardly preventing anyone else from booking in.

Excellent room. Very clean and everything nearly new. AC and amenities within the room worked perfectly. The beach was very close and although eerily empty, it was very pretty and well kept.

Location was pretty terrible. The whole neighborhood is completely empty and there is hardly anywhere to eat (except one place 20 min away). Literally blocks and blocks of empty buildings which can be dull. Maybe in the future it will grow more popular. Brakfast was pretty bad and ended at 9 am. Staff was generally pushy and insistent. We grew to dislike passing by the reception.

Great hotel, nice interior, very helpful staff. Even helped us order food delivery when we felt like staying in. Breakfast was very nice as well.

It's ok for one or two nights. The area was build for tourist. So it was quite dead in the evening. But with a taxi everything in close distance.

Stunning hotel, very clean, friendly staff, nicely decorated

Area is a ghost town. Very quiet. Breakfast in the hotel was very poor so we had to it. No where near by for breakfast, or late night food. No minimart nearby. When we asked for recommendations we were told about the restaurants we had already tried which were closed.

The room was great, it was very vlean, and the staff was very nice. It was the best hotel that we stayed in Vietname.

The location is a little bit far from the city centre, in a new part of the town, that looks like a "ghost town" with so many empty buildings. Also, there was no view over the sea like we thought, and the room had some humidity. Besides that, everything was perfect.

There was a strange smell in the room. Music was played at 7 am outside our room. Not sure who was at fault there. Breakfast a bit confusing and not super varied.

Location is tricky, not much happenings around. A lot still closed after the pandemic.

It was very modern and sleek design. Good value for how much we paid.

There were roaches that would come out at night. It was extremely close to the beach but SO far from everywhere else. It was really difficult for us to find food close by after 10pm.

They Organizes the transfer from the airport to the hotel; this was convenient

- breakfast was no good value for money/ no real European choice, milk was not good any more- there was mould in the bathroom- the hotel is noisy, you hear a lot from other guests that stay- personnel didnt make us feel welcome; they do not give any information about the area, English was okay only - the location is far away from busy part of Ha Long
