Suzhou Sun Plaza Hotel

The location was the best. It was right next to a metro station. And, foods were not far away.

Cleanliness can be a little bit better for a four star hotel.

Great value. Paid about €32 for a room that would be hundreds in European cities. You can hear a bit the noise in the square but that’s inevitable. A couple blocks away from the seven mile street and canals. Easy to get a cab from there to other places like Pingjiang (15min uber/didi vs 1h walk).

It was a bit too warm and I couldn’t find a way to lower the heating. Had to open a window, 14th floor though. Speaking of windows, the toilet had a clear glass with a curtain, but certainly less privacy than usual if you go with a friend, not couple. Other than that it’s great.

Location and clean, good value

We were early (around 10am) and were able to check in as a room was available. So flexible ! The room was spacious and clean, although carpet looks a bit old (just keep your slippers on), the bathroom was bright, big and clean; there was a separate shower and bathtub. The location was very good, just a skip and a hop from the subway station and many eateries around.We could walk all the way to a big mall via the subway so that was very convenient and allowed us to avoid the sun.We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

The reception staff was efficient but not very friendly. The breakfast (¥48) was so-so only. Not really value for money as we were able to get a much better breakfast elsewhere the next morning for a fraction of the cost.

The room was very clean and matched the photos on booking.com. Price was reasonable. Staff was accommodating with extending checkout time by an hour.

Very strong cigarette smell in the rooms and hallway. I thought I booked non-smoking rooms. So this was disappointing. This could be a common issue in China.

I had a twin room to myself for a very reasonable price. Spacious room with large bathroom including bathtub. Nice view to the west from window. All toiletries provided. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, etc. Very convenient location, next to subway station as well as 西塘街.

The location is near to most attractions. Mostly within walking dist.

The staff were always cross selling their tour packages whenever they see us.

Room and facilities are dated. Good enough place to rest for the night. Food is all around and a stone throw from Shan Tang street

Room was very hot with a room temperature of 28 degrees as air con didn't work. The hotel moved a standing fan to the room for cooling. Our room didn't have a fridge.

We booked 2 nights, when we check in we were told to stay only one night and the hotel will temperarily closed for 1 week. We were not informed in advance, we have to spend tiem to find and move to another hotel. In addition, the double bed is small and not comfortable.

Perfect location: subway station just around the corner; 5 minutes walk to the magnificient old town; Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby!

The hotel seems to be quite old, the carpets are full of stains. Bathroom was very clean though!

Even though it was a non-smoker room, the tobacco smell was always present, apparently coming through bathroom ventilation (from the other rooms). Very unpleasant for non-smokers.The staff did not speak English, some of them not a single word -- although they were all kind, friendly, and willing to help. On the last day, we had the luck to have a young lady speaking very well, and she arranged for us (obligatory) online booking for Humble Administrator's Garden (must see, a real wonder).

Located right beside a (石路) subway station and short walk to famous Shantang Street (三唐街) with lots of shops, local crusine and local dressed in traditional dynasty clothing for photo shoot at beautiful riverside scenery. Nearby hotel also has lots of restaurants. Hotel reception is located at Level 5 via the lift. A Sun Plaza beside hotel didn't have much to walk about though.

Although room allocated is non smoking, somehow cigarette smoke is sucked into the room (believed from the corridor or air inlet) making a night sleep uncomfortable. Else I would be giving the highest rating.

The staff attitude is horrible. The male manager and the female receptionist treat us not friendly at all. We asked for a warmer room and get a even colder one. Terrible.

Very closed to metro station and Shang Tang Street.

Though it’s a non smoking room floor, strong cigarettes smell lingered in the lift lobby and hotel room at all time except after the smokers went to sleep at around 3am. I had to put on the mask to bed to protect myself from inhaling the 2nd hand smoke.
