W Suzhou

Location is o the city landmark.

The lightings in the room, colourful color of green, purple, pink is too dark, and also creates an unsophisticated ambience. Considering it is a W chain, and its on the city landmark, it should be more prestigious. But that in my opinion makes the hotel feels cheap.

The room and bed is big. The view from high floor room is amazing. Next to Suzhou mall, can go through to the mall via level 3.

The design of room lighting.

Fantastic location, breakfast was incredible, staff was always very nice. The overall atmosphere and design of the hotel make it seem like it's suitable for younger people, but nearly everyone would feel good staying there. Rooms feel super modern (electrochromic or liquid crystal glass in the bathroom, etc).The highlight of my stay was the lobby bar (Woo Bar). The bartender was super cool and remembered our "custom" drink the next day. The sound quality at the bar was fantastic too. Loved the live DJ ascending on the moving DJ table from behind the bar shelf. Sol37 was also good, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and open space of the Woo Bar more.If someday in the future I end up in Suzhou again, this will be my go-to place.

Excellent room design with a lot of space and nice features. Super friendly staff and good food options within the hotel. View was extraordinary, parking included, direct access to the shopping mall, nice cocktails at the reception bar. Excellent starting point for a run or a cycling trip..

Restaurant cooled down too much, adjusted after our complain. Breakfast room too loud and more like a canteen - we like the one in Shanghai more.

Pounding music in the lobby bar. No option for breakfast included, which is the norm in China. Purchase option expensive.

Location was great. Connected to Suzhou center mall with various restaurants.

The breakfast was not good. Most items were old. And the coffee was awful. The bathroom had a stench.

Great room decoration, variety of pillow to choose, room temperature adjustable to our liking.

Would like the toilet panel to be sufficiently opaque.

I have been working in Suzhou for over 18 years. Usually, I stay in another area, another hotel (we won't mention his name... but since COVID-19, it hasn't returned to the same level). I was looking for something else. Three months ago, I had a meeting in the W's lobby and was helped by the staff. And even though I was not a hotel guest, the staff helped me exceptionally. So I decided to spend the night there. I must mention the service of the staff at the hotel, the restaurant at the hotel - one of the best I've eaten... And another essential thing for me - the Gin and tonic is one of the best I've drunk!... Without a doubt, this is the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are lovely. It has everything - view, shopping centres... excellent.

Everything was great

It is located in the new area of Suzhou, very modern and convenient as it is connected to a big shopping mall next door. But it is some distance away from the old town. Staff are polite and sincere to address your concerns and questions, nice.

The air-con did not function properly. We set the temperature to 17 degree C but the temperature never went down very far. This would matter during the day time as we had a much more costly lake-view room facing the sun. The air came out from the air-con felt like normal draft instead of cool air. It was even kind of warm in the middle of the night. If it was in the mid of summer, we would reconsider whether to choose this hotel.

Location

Staff were not well trained, reception staff were not competent. Housekeeping staff ignored the Do not disturbed sign everyday, knocked on the door to clean the room, stating she then could go have lunch. When I asked to have the sofa bed made up staff just left bedding items on the sofa bed, stating it wasn't a bed,she didn't seem to want to do it. though on booking.com site, it was presented as a sofa bed, and it was made by some staff during our previous stay.The attitude of some staff were completely careless and arrogant.We will not choose to stay in W Suzhou again.

The price is very high.In the check-in we had a big queue, we spend a lot of time in the check-in.

The W lives up to its expectations as one of the better luxury hotel chains around the world. Very helpful and attentive staff in all locations ever ready to help you. We loved the location of the Toro Loco restaurant on the 37th floor and the terrace above. The Terrace is a great place for after dinner drinks. The W is attached to the Suzhou Centre mall which is probably the best and the biggest shopping centres I have seen in China. Great variety of retailers and excellent dining options in the mall.

We were disappointed with the air conditioning in the room as even after setting the control to 19 degrees before going to bed, it was quite warm in the middle of the night. This happened across both the nights we stayed there and it cost a few hours of sleep each night. Secondly we could not view any of the channels on the TV as the "OK" switch on the remote failed to work. Unexpected experience as we expected better room conditions at the W.

We have not had the breakfast but room services were also very good, all in all very comfortable stay!

All Staff were very friendly, actively supporting.Bar has good vibe, not like a typical hotel bar. It was a pity we could not go to the high floor bar, that would have been great.
