    Pros +

    • The staff was very friendly, room was clean and spacious! the view was beautiful and nearby beach had turtles we had the pleasure to meet. Food option was good. Tharusha was very helpful and courteous. The beach near the hotel is not suitable for swimming, a few meters to the left you can find turtles and on the right 15 mins walk later you can find a nice pleasant beach to swim and there's a restuarant which has a tree swing as well which was fun!
    • Room and location
    • It's right on the beach and has sun loungers under the shade of the trees where you can relax and simply watch the world go by on the hot beach. From our balcony we spent ages watching the turtles in the sea!

    Cons -

    • The beach by the hotel is not suitable for swimming, the central air conditioning was not working but it wasn't really hot when we visited so was able to manage with the split AC in the room
    • Pictures on website didn’t reflect the reality outside. Roof area not available to guests. Housekeeping inconsistent. Communications in front desk with female staff nearly impossible. Not happy when told I couldn’t have more than 2 towels, that I couldn’t have more than 2 teabags - instructions not given for tv operation - old towels disintegrating on first use. Housekeeping having to be told to clean the floor of sand- bathroom sink plug didn’t work the whole stay despite being “fixed” and left. Very poor wifi in lobby area. Had to send 3 emails asking for confirmation for a twin sea view room - “we will try” eventually was confirmed.
    • There not much to walk to in the area (shops, cafes) because it's a just smallish beach and the road is very busy. However, there are a few lovely beachside cafes which was perfect for us but if you wanted more choice may not be for you. If you want to go anywhere it's very easy to take a tuk-tuk.

Perfect location on the beach, Nice hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff (Nimasha in the reception and others). Good breakfast

Great location - walk out the back door onto the beach. 5mins walk away is the beach/lagoon area where you get to see and feed the turtles. This is a fabulous experience and the reason we stayed here so for us this place was a perfect 10. A few people were touching or moving the turtles but generally people were being respectful. The turtles are free to leave - there are a large number we saw from our balcony that chose not to go into the lagoon with the people. This area of the coast is a bit different from surrounding areas, driving down the road all you see are big walls with the hotels behind. There are few restaurants or shops on the road. But there are 2 or 3 good places to eat in the nearby hotels which you can access via the beach.Rooms were nice. Balcony views were wonderful.

Near the turtles, was lovely. Sea too strong to swim properly. Beautiful location. The horrible tuck tuck driver outside the hotel, caused us a lot of problems. He said he worked for the hotel but he didn’t, the hotel said he was a bad man but would not get involved and protect us from him. He told other taxis not to take us, it was very intimidating !

Comfortable bed, clean rooms, nice balcony, good location to beach. Turtles everywhere

Air conditioning kept breaking down, keycard didn’t work, we had to get staff to let us in our room. The tuk tuk driver outside the hotel was pushy, and not a nice man, he spoilt our time at the hotel.

    7BrookePosted on: 2-24-2025

Beautiful location but a little far from shops and restaurants, there are tuk tuk drivers out the front who are rude and overpriced - felt unsafe because of this but this is not the properties’ fault - just FYI to walk down a little bit and get a pick me to avoid them. The rooms were gorgeous and comfy and well kept.

Lift was out of order so we had to get the stairs all the time which was really annoying especially in the heat. The pool was a little dirty as well but otherwise lovely.

I really liked the location and the staff were excellent. It is right at a clean surf beach with the ocean rock pool 50 mtrs down the beach great for snorkeling and viewing the giant turtles and sub-tropical fish. I thought the breakfasts were quite good. I had a traditional Sri Lankan meal in the restaurant and it was equally the best meal I had in the district.

I wish I could get a 2nd room key so I could charge my iPad and phone. Only a small matter .

    Rooms and the location

Food and beverage. The breakfast is very bad and we had to have breakfast outside in another place though the price included breakfast. The staff service is good but the quality of the food is very bad

Location perfect and the staff were excellent.

Bathroom wasn’t great as toilet didn’t flush very well and there was a constant smell.

This is a little gem - about 6 km outside Galle. The hotel is clean and comfortable and right on the beach. The restaurant has a really good menu and potentially some great views out to sea. The staff were friendly and the food was well presented. Our room was large and comfortable, again with views out to sea where we could watch the turtles coming in to feed on the seaweed clinging to the rocks outside. It was good value for money

There was nothing we did not like, but we did make a number of recommendations to the owner to help her make much better use of the restaurant! We hope that she takes up some of them - as we say, she is sitting on a gold mine if she changes a few things and makes the restaurant more accessible to non-residents!

The location right on the beach was perfect - a few steps around the bay to protected swimming behind the reef with turtles nudging you for a sea lettuce treat. Nearer the reef there were lots of fish, big and small. The semi indoor pool was clean and well maintained with change rooms in the hotel foyer. Best to have your own beach towels, as was the case almost all over the island. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, housekeeping on request without extra charge. The bathrooms were truly clean with toiletries supplied, including toothbrushes.Breakfast was very generous, attractively presented. We had dinner there one night - excellent meal. The staff were always professional, friendly and welcoming and a little issue of our own making was attended to quickly and helpfully.

Not a dislike - merely a note for anyone who cannot manage stairs at all. Check with the hotel when you book if that's your case. This is one of a few hotels that has a lift however, unavoidably, the lift needed repairs while we were there. We were notified of this prior to our arrival on which our bags were whisked up the stairs for us. I was impressed that staff did not hang about looking for a tip, as often happens.

The Best location in Unawatuna. Nearby turtle beach.

    Regulární breakfest.

Room was ready before check in!The view of the beach & sea is incredible & exactly what we had hoped it would be after 2 weeks of travelling the island. There was enough sun loungers which was lovely & beach towels provided. The sunsets

There was no breakfast choice, although what was given was nice. On the 2nd morning i asked for no sausage ( as i dont like to waste food & did not eat this the previous day). They took off the bacon as well so left with only egg.It is not actually in Unawatuna so had to get a tuk tuk to find places to eat in the evening.

Amazing location on the sand. It was good that it was about 100 metres from the safe swimming/turtle area as it was quieter in front of the hotel. Amazing balcony views. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Lots of nice places to eat and a small grocery store within a short walk, cheap and easy to get a tuktuk to unawatuna for a change of scene and tourist shops.

I found it strange that despite booking 10 months in advance our two rooms weren't next to each other. This wasn't very convenient when travelling as a family. Some bits of the hotel are a bit tired and in need of repair, but everything is clean and it's still decent value for money.

We had a two-night stopover and were really looking forward to our stay. However, we encountered several issues: the room was not clean, there was only one torn towel provided, and the sink had leftover shaving debris from the previous guest.Additionally, there were some safety concerns, as the electrical plugs seemed faulty, and the fire alarm was covered up, which is quite alarming. On a positive note, the view was absolutely stunning, and we were treated to beautiful sunsets. The beach can get quite crowded, though. We also found the staff to be unhelpful at times, and it’s worth noting that the lift was broken, making access to the fifth-floor rooms inconvenient.

Location, staff very helpful, rooms relatively clean

The fact that they did not tell us that the elevator was not working for the past 3 months especially as one member of our group has difficulty climbing stairs.

Right on the beach between 2 good restaurants. Though the beach has shrunk. Excellent breakfast. Delightful staff.

Very basic - needs an upgrade.
