Pros +
- Good location
- Generally fine. Good-sized room for any hotel in Japan, and nice to have a large bathroom + tub. I only wish the staff at check-in had alerted me to the fact that I had to notify them by a certain time the day before if I wanted breakfast the next morning. I have no complaints about the policy, since it avoids pointless wastage, just wish I had known earlier, since I never saw the sign until it was too late. Price, though slightly steep for a tiny town, was somewhat understandable given the size of the hotel, its rooms, and the fact that tourism is pretty low there.
- This was a clean ninja themed room
Cons -
- Everything is old. Receptionist asked me to pay for the room I already paid when I booked the hotel which was finally resolved after I showed him the payment confirmation.
- No ninjas attacked my son through the wall. He was unable to compete his ninja training after spending time in Iga.

This was a clean ninja themed room
No ninjas attacked my son through the wall. He was unable to compete his ninja training after spending time in Iga.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay pleasant. Facilities were adequate and easy walking distance to the major attractions.

Close to the train station, castle and specialty confectionary shops. Staff helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Ninja rooms available.
The food at the hotel restaurant was fine for dinner and breakfast, but did not stand out. Very limited non-alcoholic drinks.
Decent hotel. Staff speaks English very well. The room is a nice size. It's obviously old so don't expect modern. Fridge keeps things cool (tip: the center shelf can actually freeze your drinks. put drinks on the bottom). There are outlets located at the desk, one at the headboard of the bed, and one near the door. Probably more outlets in the bathroom but I don't remember. The desk outlet has a multi plug but I didn't use it since my 4 port charger is too heavy and too big.Internet is decently fast. Could get a bit slow in the morning but rest of the day is fine.I got 9th floor. Not sure where the noise is coming from but I hear a lot of slamming noises (maybe neighbor or at the laundry on 10th floor). Walls aren't sound proof but enough to drown some of the noise.Location is perfect, near ueno park, ninja museum, and next to train stations.Price is reasonable.Other reviewers said you can't control the temperature. I think that's wrong. Was able to change how hot the air is, but I don't know if you can do cold air. I put it to 15C and was only getting room temperature air blowing.
Downsides: I wish they replace the pillows as it's very hard and only includes 1. I had to put my clothes under the pillow to raise it and to give some sort of softness to it. Maybe I should have asked front desk to give me a second pillow. Also, mattress is old, And blankets have small stains.
The location was great. Breakfast was good. Easy walk to the castle and Ninja museum.
Nice location, very friendly staff, the ninja themed rooms are great for kids
Breakfast selection is basic
The location is good - about 10 min walk from train station and 15 min to Ueno Park/ Ninja Museum. Also we started the Ninja experience tour right from the hotel, and we were happy to find all experience spots within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The height of the hotel makes it easy to see when walking around the city. You probably won’t get lost! The price is reasonable. The room is very clean. Facilities was fairly enough even for light travelers- amenities, hair dryer, slippers, shower towel, etc. Dinner menu, though simple, provides a fairly good taste especially the sashimi. 2 min walk from the hotel, there is a cute café called “木花”, serving excellent ice coffee and snacks such as sandwiches.
We booked a standard twin room - non-smoking and it was 215, on the second floor, almost right in the front of the elevators. During night around 11-12 pm there were continuous blunt noises from the upper floor, and in the next morning, it was also noisy because of the elevator takers. Opening the room window there was a reflective roof that made the room temperature high. Good thing that the air conditioner was efficient, which helped to shortly adjust the room temperature to the ideal level.
The location was within walking distance from the train station. very basic but clean, reasonably priced and relatively close to the attraction. The desk staff was friendly and helpful.
Amenities were less than expected. You have to pick up some of the items from the lobby.
We were given a ninja room. My kid loves it. They also sell ninja souvenirs. The hotel is very near to attractions.
Old facilities. Need some refurbishment.
Location, especially the higher floors, are amazing because it's one of the tallest buildings in an area with not very tall buildings for a great view. It's incredibly close to delicious restaurants, historic sites, and the train station. They also offer nice themed goodies for sale of the towns specialty, ninjas.
The beds were quite firm and only one key card even for a double room was less than ideal but definitely not a deal breaker.
Very lovely hotel, nice service, good staff, clean environment.Really enjoy this holiday for stay~
the property is an easy walk from the station and well situated in the town. The staff are lovely and very helpful but speak very little English. we managed with a translation app. They helped me send my luggage onto my next destination.
I booked this hotel as my friend was staying there. I was charged 30% more for exactly the same room. When I queried the price I was told it was because I booked on a different day. I found this disappointing. There is a great coffee machine in the foyer but they turn it off at 10 am and turn it back on at 3 pm. a couple of times they put it on for me as I was a bit late. The restaurant has a very limited menu. There is no sign on the property so it's difficult to find the entrance.
The breakfast is well prepared and served in terms of anti-Covid 19 virus, with every dish wrapped up in plastic covering.
Nothing at all, I was very thankful for all the hospitality from the staff.
The hotel is very central just 5mins from the station and 15mins from the castle snd museum. We booked the ninja room. Loved the decor and view of Ueno castle at night. There were ninja costumes left in the wardrobe. Simple buffet breakfast. We ate plenty.
The wardrobe really smelt bad so we didn’t want to wear the ninja costumes which was a shame as that would have been fun.
