Walker Hotel Chenggong

Location

Gave us a room (720) where the water smelled of sewage and we didn't even know until we bathed in it. That has to be against health dept codes if the bathing and shower water has sewage in it. DO NOT STAY HERE if they try to give you a room on 7the floor.

The location was great, as you only had to take a bus to get to Ximen, with many bus routes nearby. a bike lane right outside of the hotel. The free water, juice and coffee was very convenient and the staff was nice.

At checkout, they just keep annoying you 30 minutes before check out time, even when you tell them you need 15 minutes, they kept calling every 5 minutes to remind you. I stopped answering the call since I had talked to them.The breakfast lacks protein; it's just a bunch of carbs, and it's very repetitive every day. I was there for more than 10 days and only used it 2 times.

- Staff are great, friendly at reception and they all spoke English well.- Free coffee/tea/water 24hours. The coffee from the machine is decent.- The room is large, the bed was large and comfortable.- Shower, hairdryer worked well.- Reasonable storage area.- Close to the hotel there is a place to do laundry, buy fruit etc. Various restaurants and a supermarket within 5-10 minutes walk.

- As others have mentioned, the aircon is centralised and people smoke in their rooms, so sometimes you can smell cigarette smoke very strongly (coming through the aircon). You also can't control the temperature of the aircon in your room.- The WiFi has a decent speed, I was able to teach most of my classes online, however it dropped out / stopped working at times, so I needed phone data as a back up. Especially slower in the evenings when more people use the network.- The area has everything you need but it's very boring. Also further from the metro than I thought by looking at the map (15 minutes walk, which isn't great if you have heavy luggage).- The quality of the food at breakfast is just so-so.- There was some dirt/dust in the room. There are many black stains on the floor from cigarettes. The bathroom felt a bit outdated.- Mostly quiet in the day but in the evenings the people above used their bathroom very late (12-1am) and it was pretty noisy - I could hear everything.

Location was good and staff were friendly but didn't make up for how horrendous this hotel is. It is not worth the cheap price

Breakfast was inedible. Hotel felt like it was falling apart. Mould absolutely everywhere and a dripping ceiling just outside our room. Overall really did not enjoy staying here.

The hotel is in good location and has nice breakfast. The staff are very kind and friendly. Room was clean.

The staff was very polite and very helpful. The room was very nice. The location was excellent, very near the center of the city. And the breakfast was very delicious.

Not clean. Found a long hair on the floor next to the night stand.

The room was not expensive and there was water, coffee and tea in the room.

The entire place is dirty, including the lobby, the hallways and the room. The bathroom was moldy, there were several leaks in the ceiling of the hallways. The breakfast was not good, no healthy options, mainly bread and noodles.

absolutely nothing. This property was beyond dirty & disgusting

We found cigarettes that were previous lit in our room, cigarette ash on the beds. Everything smelt like smoke. The hallways, rooms & everything were very dirty. We didn’t even stay our entire booking we were so displeased/disgusted & they didn’t offer any sort of refund back at all

Not really clean hotel, really dirty in corridors and rooms, and probably have bed bugs. I can't upload of the bite marks on my legs since the review will get censored.

Big enough comfortable room, clean, good room service, always available staff.

Broken shower head. Broken bath tub wallpaper pealing of walls. Room was not very clean. Ac sucked.

Unrelaxing and very uncomfortable

The room is dirty and smells like cigarettes. Even when we opened the windows, the room still smelled like cigarettes.

The breakfast, and that the coffee and juice is 24hrs.

The room, the aircon, the smell, the sheets, the bathroom. It could have been better of we were given a nice room with nice smell as it smells cigarette we had to open the window so we can get some fresh air. The bathtub sounds like it will break anytime soon.

Not much better than a “private” hostel.Would not recommend for families, sketchy building and clientele on other floors. (Sex toy shop on the first floor and seedy Karaoke on others)The pictures are old(probably taken when it was juts renovated) and do not represent an accurate description of the room.The tub was broken and seemed about to crack each time we stepped in.

Nice sized room, good bed- slept very well. Coffee and toast were good for the breakfast, and there were a few convenience stores near-by. Bus stop to the main city was also easy to access

Breakfast could have done with eggs or some fruit IMO. Few scratches on the walls, and maybe small "stains" in the bathtub, but those didn't seem like dirt (was it paint?)
