    • We really liked our stay! Cute place directly on the beach, comfy bungalows, friendly staff, snorkel gear available and option to rent kayaks, good breakfast.
    • Awesome island to enjoy life's simple pleasures due to staff and the Chef was great!
    • Great hotel. Not cheap in terms of Thailand, but we got a free kayak as complimentary (while it costs from 200 to 500 baht at other sides of island) and snorkelling masks. Clean rooms and I suppose also the best restaurant in the island (bigger choice and the same prices as in other parts of Koh Ngai)

    Cons -

    • The bed and pillows. I love the traditional Thai style bed and pillow. Firm to hard.
    • Bungalows are a bit dated but still great experience
    • Bed was a bit hard for us ! Breakfast wasn't great ,but adequate.

Out of our entire trip around the Krabi area, this tiny island surprised us the most! A true little paradise that we already miss so much—and we will definitely return! Warm-hearted people, absolute tranquility, the best food, and the most amazing cocktails on the island!!The sound of birds delighting us from morning till night, live music in the evenings, breathtaking scenery—it truly felt like we had landed in paradise! This is the most beautiful place on the island, with the best vibe and the most stunning views. In other places on the island, we found crowds, poor food and bad drinks. But here, everything was perfect! We traveled with three infants, and this was the place where they felt the happiest too! Thank you for your hospitality and for creating such a dreamy place! We will surely be back as soon as possible!

Very relaxed Hotel ! Plenty sun chairs etc scattered about ,but only 2 sun loungers . Nice wee tiki bar by the seafront.

Bed was a bit hard for us ! Breakfast wasn't great ,but adequate.

Great location and remote island. Breakfast was good and staff accommodating When sea calm some great snorkelling on the reef

Bed was very hard took a good few hundred meters to lose. Up on morning walk Rather unimaginative layouts

Amazing stay at a wonderful resort by the beach. Truly felt like you were staying in paradise, and the views from the beach were some of our favourite in Thailand. The staff were really helpful and made us feel special upon arrival. The resort was well decorated and had live music in the evenings. The beach had lots of different seating options which was nice throughout the day. Breakfast was great with numerous options

The room was slightly basic compared to the rest of the resort but it was still nice, clean, and comfortable. We tried the restaurant but weren’t overly impressed; they didn’t have numerous things on the menu and then some of our order didn’t arrive.

We enjoyed staying in the Mayalay resort. Personally, I liked the most houses that were plain and had this "paradise island" vibe. Resort is nicely located. The area was clean as well as the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. I really regret we spent only 2 nights in the resort.

The price, compared to the quality, was too high. Houses need some renovation. The restaurant, which belongs to the facility, offered high prices and small portions compared to other bars on Koh Ngai. The staff was also sometimes quite confused and mixed up the orders. Breakfast was ok and plentiful, but the lunch menu could be better. I wouldn't complain if the prices weren't so high...

Perfect location. The best part of the beach. Loved the ”happy hour guy with the bell”!And of course the happy hour 4-5 pm.Waste sorting station!Free water refill-excellent!

Would love some more plants and trees on the premises, especially around the bungalows.Beds are extremly hard.A lot of plastic on the beach-a general problem in Thailand.”Day torists” occupying loungers and hammocks belonging to the resort.

The hotel has a best location in the island. Very cozy and beautiful area. Very green, palms and trees make a unique atmosphere. Enjoyed a space around, not that busy what is also nice. The most beautiful and romantic place in the world ?

Some area around was not so clean, fallen trees and trash, even the toilet was just lying on the ground behind the bungalows, that was noticeable. Some bungalows are tired, but still cosy enough. But I am really a big fan of the hotel, I hope they keep the atmosphere but improve some things.

My stay at Mayalay Resort was truly a memorable experience! The standout feature is undoubtedly the amazing view from the bungalow, which is situated right on the beach. Waking up to the sound of waves and a serene ocean view was pure bliss. The location of the resort is excellent – it's peaceful, quiet, and feels like a secluded paradise, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The breakfast offered was delightful, with a good variety to start the day off right. The staff deserve special mention for their warmth and attentiveness – they truly made the stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a tranquil escape with stunning beachfront views, Mayalay Resort is a fantastic choice. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return someday!

The only minor downside is that the rooms could use some renovation, as they are a bit dated. However, this did not detract much from the overall experience.

If you are looking for an eco/jungle vibe you can’t go wrong. The property is gorgeous, on the contrary of many hotels around it’s not a block of concrete and swimming pool on one of the whitest beaches of Thailand - and that’s what make this place special. The bungalows are lovely, super comfortable and super clean, equipped with what you need and literally on the sand of this wonderful beach. There is also a restaurant area that is well kept for breakfast and food throughout the day.

I have been coming to this place 3 times, in 3 different years and I keep it always in my heart as a special place. It saddens me to see that things have not improved though when it comes to the service of the restaurant and bar and this is a real shame. With little corrections and improvements this place could really thrive, instead it made us just wanting to stop using their bar and restaurant service and go somewhere else for all the length of our stay.1) The staff is sweet, but it’s clearly inexperienced (but this could be improved simply with some proper training! I work in service since 15 years and have my own restaurant, I know what I am talking about). They don’t even have basic English and don’t even try to make it work using google translate for example so communication is difficult. They forget orders, confuse the queue of ordering even if the place is not busy at all, can’t make an half decent coffee never mind a cappuccino or anything that requires milk.2) the bar or the restaurant is ALWAYS short of something. One day is the wine, one day is the ice, the other day is half of the food written down on the menu. Now I get you are in an island where everything gets imported, but with proper planning ahead and a good storing system you don’t end up in this situations systematically. All the other places on the islands we went to, with much simpler and poorer infrastructure never had any of these problems once.3) the food, including breakfast, is nothing exceptional. Maybe is catering for “farangs”, but a lot of people come to Thailand for the food, so make it a bit tastier could really step up your game in my opinion.4) since it seems the majority of your audience are people from USA, Europe, Australia, I would recommend you to have a look a bit at the cocktails trends in the west, and maybe include some more “contemporary options” to your menu (negroni, aperol spritz, espresso martini, gin tonic, etc).

We like the wonderful location on Ko Ngai beach, the spacious resort hall and the breakfast place on the sand, in front of the sea. The breakfast offer is rich and the quality of food is good.

The bungalows are really basic, quite old and not well-maintained (i.e. old mosquito net with holes, very old fridge, we could not close the main door of our room). They would need to be refreshed. The staff is friendly and smiley, but it seems they do not have so much experience and they often get confused about orders at the restaurant and various requests. This implies long waitings and inefficiency. The prices of the services at the resort are more expansive than other options on the island (i.e. restaurant, spa, tours, transfers…).

We couldn’t wait to get back here! Pulling up toThis place on a longtail makes your heart stop… is it too good to be true? Nope… it is 100% extraordinary! What an amazing little gem… the staff, the service, the location had us booking again!! Their attention to detail is incredible and they are very concerned with the environment and don’t use plastic water bottles on their property- instead, they have a refilling station for everyone to get filtered water… something you don’t see in Thailand! The staff are amazing, they are so warm and kind and do whatever they can to ensure your stay is perfect. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious… and all have a peek a boo view of the ocean which is just steps away! They even built a house for the Great Hornbill’s to be comfortable!

    It’s perfect!!!

To me, this is the best hotel on Ko Ngai. My partner and I spent three nights here and felt like we were living an island fairytale. The island is a small slice of paradise—a pristine white sand beach with crystal-clear water and a serene, magical tranquility. Best beach in my life. The property is literally on the beach, with sleeping huts set back slightly for privacy. After trying food at several other resorts for variety (there are no native community or standalone restaurants on Ko Ngai), I can confidently say Mayalay Resort is the most atmospheric place. Resorts closer to the ferry pier felt overly polished and commercialized (with too many kids), while those farther down the beach became increasingly basic (with beach only accesible at low tide). Mayalay strikes the perfect balance: all the amenities you need with an alaways accesible beach, while maintaining a laid-back, elegant vibe. The open, airy design of the dining area—with white sun shades and white furniture—gives the resort understated elegance. It’s easily the islands most aesthetically pleasing resort. The coral reefs and beach (though unfortunately mostly dead) seemed better than at other parts of the beach. We noticed that longtail boats tend to anchor closer to the pier, making those sections of the reef busier, while resorts farther down the beach often attract large groups of day tourists. Mayalay’s beach, in contrast, felt like a tranquil enclave, perfectly suited for relaxation and adding to its recharging atmosphere. The staff were attentive yet respectful, giving us a sense of privacy that helped us fully unwind. They were always friendly and talkative when engaged but never intrusive, creating an enchanting, stress-free experience. Having arrived with an early ferry from Ko Lanta, the staff made our room available even before check-in. My girlfriend and I are already planning to return with our parents to share the joy of this magical place.

I loved my stay at Maylay Resort. Everyone are very friendly, houses are clean, bathroom is outside what is very nice. Place is intimate, so you can really feel vibe of this paradise island.
