Byland Star Hotel

Property is good. Staffs were friendly. Loaction is perfect as all the Indian restaurants are nearby.

The negative part is the breakfast. Very limited options for Indian food. That too very average taste. The property also requires renovation now. Washroom upgradation too.

Dear Management,I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding a recent incident during my stay at Byland Hotel, which has left me both frustrated and disappointed.On [09-23 of April 2025. Incident happened on 13/04/2025], my companions and I checked into your hotel. Upon our departure to another province, we were charged an additional 200 RMB for what was claimed to be a stain on our bed sheet. We paid this amount under duress, as we needed to continue our travels. We had specifically requested that the bed sheet be kept with our luggage, assuring the staff that we would address the issue upon our return.When we returned to the hotel two days later, we inspected the bed sheet and discovered a small blue pen mark—essentially a line with two dots. We were taken aback, as we had not carried any writing instruments with us during our stay. Despite our attempts to explain, the front office staff remained adamant that the mark was our responsibility. Their refusal to consider our explanation was both unhelpful and discourteous.I find it hard to believe that a hotel of your reputation would handle such situations in this manner. It is concerning that the staff did not even consider the possibility that the mark may have been inadvertently created by someone else or that it could have been a pre-existing condition that went unnoticed until our departure. This incident, coupled with the harsh behavior of the front desk staff, has marred what should have been a pleasant experience at your hotel. I urge you to review this situation and consider refunding the 200 RMB charge, as it seems unjustified given the circumstances.I hope you take this matter seriously and ensure that your staff is trained to handle such issues with professionalism and courtesy in the future.Thank you for your attention to this matter. Almost everything

No need to charge 6rmb for a glass of water which was broken by mistake. They did charge me 6rmb bcoz there was a crack on glass.And also when u can to know that the glass is broken, you must replace it by new one.So atleast client can use it.Broken glass can harm the client.SO BE AWARE NEXT TIME.NOT ALL THE CLIENTES YOU RECIEVE ARE THIEVES, TRUST IS IMPORTANT.ALL THOUGH VERY GOOD HOTEL, EVERY TIME I VISIT CHINA, I STAY AT THIS HOTEL.STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL.

The location is good almost in the center of the town

Rooms were small and there was a dingy smell.

The room was big sized and the furniture was good

There was an extremely bad smell inside the room and i asked them to find a solution for this or to change my room but nothing happened

The hotel rooms are neat and clean, well maintained, the hotel location surrounded by indian restaurants and nearby halal restaurants

No jet spray with WC in toilet

We didn’t have breakfast due to an early start but there were lots of complimentary fruits and snacksand coffee.

The room was a little hot even with air conditioning

The location is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Especially Mr. Bruce, he's an excellent person.

Customer service, Cleanliness, Facilities, good food, Friendly and helpful staff and the location.

Breakfast never had much of a choice most was based on Indian style or Asian nothing continental to offer on the table.

But more understanding of English to serve customers coming from nonlocal backgrounds. The booking desk was unable to find our booking made through booking.com but later located it and moved us to a room which was quite small.

Poor service. We were told by booking.com that your room is upgraded but we were given down graded room.

Only had 1 time real breakfast though i stayed for 2 days because they start breakfast after 7..should start 6.30am as in many other hotel in China, because I have to go to station by 7.15...but the staf were nice enough to let me into breakfast hall at 6.45..though had nothing except egg n tea..but this is fine for me.the welcome biscuit n coffee in the lobby n nice staff are a plus point for this hotel.

what i dont like about the room..it is a big room with a game table..the game table is what is disturbing...we are not gamers..as we are on biz, they should be table n chair for biz..

Location and proximity to good Indian restaurants

Poor maintainance. The phone in the room was not working. Complained twice but it was not fixed. AC becomes too hot during winters.

Only Chinese hotel who understands Little bit english, Many indian restraunts nearby.

They can be better at english skills

Staff very cooperate. Taxi service very good

Breakfast facility. Delicious indian foods
