Yuh Tong Hotel

Located in the middle with lots of inexpensive and good food options. You can also see the market and a small park. The Catholic Church is a 20 minute car ride away. Very nice display of lights around Christmas time. Do be prepared for some authentic experience of a Taiwan small city. The street can be noisy. The traffic follows its own rules. It can be scary if you are not used to it but it’s also very fun if you observe and be like the locals.

Location is good and the room is big. Staff members are nice. Most important of all, the breakfast buffet is awesome.

The air con. One of our rooms was too hot and the other was too cold.

Everything about the room and the description of the hotel is all wrong!! It starts at the hotel lobby - it is hot, humid, and has a musty smell. The room is outdated and the floor is dirty. The breakfast is less than par. Overall I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. They should study Guangzhi Hotel nearby and how they run their hospitality.

We reserved a deluxe double twin and two deluxe double rooms for a total price of US$309.53. Upon check-in, they had assigned us 3 double rooms, we advised them one of the room should have been a double deluxe twin and they resolved it. Instead of giving us 2 double deluxe rooms with queen size beds that we paid for, we received double rooms with double size beds. We decided to let it go because we were there for only one night and it was getting late. The rooms were dated, dirty with stains on the walls and mold in the shower areas. One family member complained of bad cable reception in their room and all family members complained about their accommodations. Breakfast buffet was fair for being included, the only complaint is when it came to fresh made egg choices. The options were fried eggs, fried eggs, or fried eggs, it appears they don't know how to make eggs any other way. We were lucky we got on site parking due to limited spaces, parking garage is small and spaces are very cramped. I would highly recommend do a more thorough search for rooms when staying Chiayi because we would never recommend anyone staying here. It's our belief that this hotel caters more to conventions and banquets, that may be why the rooms were so substandard.

I like that they have separate compartment for Bath and toilet which can be convenient if travelling with friends/ families.Breakfast was good, having some of their local fare.

Location was a bit out of the way from the popular sites.

Comfortable, clean, attractive rooms. The bathrooms are particularly nice, with a sleek soaking tub. Staff was helpful and many speak English. Plentiful breakfast buffet and parking on site.

Convenient central location, friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, and we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast.

We thought those pine trees on the roof were in need of attention. Perhaps it is the general air pollution, or perhaps the trees lack soil - but their health seemed to be not the very best. This does not diminish the value of the hotel, of course, but perhaps some smaller plants could be considered for a rooftop garden?
