Pros +
- It had everything I needed and a convenient location to the train/bus station.
- Location is good, easy to move around as the station and bus interchange were 100m away. Eateries and supermarket were also 100m or less away from the hotel.
- Very centrally located hotel just across the street from the main train and bus station with plenty of restaurants nearby. We had breakfast in the nearby Starbucks.
Cons -
- Breakfast could have been better. Not much varieties. Room is small since we were in Hokkaido before coming to Tsukuba, the rooms in various hotels in Hokkaido were much bigger.
- Nothing particular
- The room was small and narrow, which made it uncomfortable at times, especially if you have large luggage. There simply wasn’t enough space to open it properly or move around easily.

The location is excellent - a short walk from the station. The room was quiet and very comfortable for one person without a lot of luggage. (It is small for two people - I was there once before with my spouse.) Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. We were able to leave our luggage at the desk after check-out on our last day.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tsukuba. The location is excellent — convenient access to public transport, shops, and restaurants. The staff were professional and friendly, and the facilities were well-maintained. The room was clean, quiet, and equipped with everything you’d expect from a modern business hotel in Japan.

Very good location, clean, very friendly staff
Great location, short walk to trains and buses. Easy to get to University of Tsukuba, Tokyo, and other areas in Tsukuba. Hotel was clean and comfortable, with all amenities needed (including laundry that worked well), good breakfast, and helpful staff. Rooms were good size and comfortable.
It was difficult to get a double room with two beds. Otherwise, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Good location and friendly staff. A bit tight but as expected. Clean. Will stay here again when. we visit Tsukuba.
It was business trip and I did not spent too much time in hotel. It was a good size - by Japanese standards - room with all necessary equipment. Free WiFi was excellent and I used it a lot for my work.
Location close to Tsukuba bus station, convenient for taking bus (main means of reaching Tsukuba) from and to airport. Breakfast - even though relatively basic - was included and it was useful.
the location is just perfect, nearby a big shopping area, beautiful garden, bus and train station, also near the campuss wear my daughter is studying making it such a perfect place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they hired some staff who spoke English well and really help us communicate, but the staffs who are not speaking English fluently are always try to explain and communicate smartly with guest, I love their effort to keep assisting and trying to do their best to make guest feel all their needs been taken cared for, very professional and diligent staffs. The breakfast is also wonderfull, they provide japanese style breakfast and some western too, but my family love their japanese breakfast most and their coffee, which is very good. The coffee is also provided at the ammenities stall nearby the reception area for guest to pick for free :). We were stayed more than 12 days in Daiwa Roynett and satisfied for the choice we've made. We definitely will return when we visit Tsukuba again.
Convenient location for just about anything. Recently refurbished, so the room carpets and lobby were in tiptop shape. Staff were all nice, except the one who checked me in. She needs a slight attitude adjustment.
For "ecology reasons" the hotel only cleans the guest rooms every three days. Fine in itself and they hang a towel set outside your door each day, but no indication of how to deal with used towels or garbage. My room never got cleaned once, even though I stayed four nights. The outsides of the lobby windows drip (and I mean drip) with condensation on rainy, humid days. Never seen that before. Pretty bad look and pretty bad considering the hotel owner is a housing manufacturer and should know how to make a building with proper ventilation.
Super comfortable bed, pillow, blanket!
Location is ideal
I booked through booking.com for 1 adult and 1 kid (12 years). Upon checking in they informed that 12 years is adult and charged extra person charge. Plus breakfast wasn't accommodated as my booking was 1 adult and kid. When I mentioned the age of the kid while booking why issue while checking in
Perfect location, very clean, very cosy hotel. Definitely going there again!
Breakfast hall was a little bit small.
Great hotel with well-designed rooms, efficient facilities and a very nice breakfast. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English, the room was always made up nicely and I had a free water bottle every day. Great view of Mount Tsukuba from my window.
WIFI in the room was great, but no WIFI in the breakfast room.
The hotel is placed very close to bus and train station, as well as to the convention center in Tsukuba. There were also two small malls close by with restaurants and food stalls to grab lunch or have dinner. The bed was very good.
Check-in was only possible after 2pm.
Great facilities for working in the room.
The room was a smoking room. I've understood that the hotel was fully booked and non-smoking rooms were no longer available.
near shopping mall & restaurants
parking garage
Clean and cosy, perfect location, excellent stuff, great breakfasts,
Everything is good
Good location next to the train station. The hotel is tuned for Japanese business travellers. The breakfast is accordingly: only Japanese-style with rice, miso and fish. I like that, so good. The rooms are convenient with a big table by the window.
It's much too hot in the rooms in winter. After a few nights with heating off I could reasonably sleep. But the default setting is just too hot.
