- The guys at the restaurant/bar of the hotel are a bit unfriendly, no smile and stared at me as if I trespassed in the hotel or just ignoring me when I come to ask for something, they could be kind to every clients in the future
- A more expansive outdoor sitting area would have been great. Breakfast is always helpful… coffee tea Sitting area in the room also would be an improvement
- Would have been nice if there were a refrigerator in the room

Very nice place to stay when in Porto Delgada. The room is very clean and the receptionists very accommodating and helpful. Room facilitates are very good. Cooking facilities and a patio are upstairs. The room is located a few streets up from the harbor not far from the Mercado. No breakfast is included but a nice pastry shop is nearby next to the theater. All in all we enjoyed our stay. The island is very scenic. We especially liked the East and West Island tours with Pure Azores Tours. If we return to San Miguel we would like to stay there again.
Would have been nice if there were a refrigerator in the room
Was in a good location, nice close walk to the town. Had a nice rooftop area with a shared kitchen, had all the things you needed to cook a meal. Was nice that you get a code to enter the building and do not require a key.
The pillows were very uncomfortable.
Location
When I booked the room, the hotel was under different management and name. I was informed about the change of management but not about the changes in general. They had to inform me and asked me if I still wanted to stay in the hotel or not. When we arrived, there was still the old sign outside the hotel. We dropped the bags and went out. In the evening we were looking for the hotel but there was a new sign installed and we were actually very confused. We were looking for the hotel for more than half an hour. However, they gave us a code to open the door. The code wasn't working on the first try. It was confusing and frustrating. There wasn't anyone to ask for assistance. Anyway, I booked a hotel for a reason. It turned out that we stayed in some sort of accommodation similar to RB&B or something. I didn't pay for this. Our towers were ripped with holes! On top of that were dirty with stains! In their instructions, it says that we are not allowed to take the towels out. Otherwise, we will pay a fine . How much should I charge them for the awful towels? Anyway, I didn't enjoy my stay.
Disappointing
I have stayed here on several occasions and it has generally been my first port of call when visiting Ponta Delgada. Regrettably, I was disappointed on this occasion (16-18 March). I reported that the toilet in my bathroom was leaking on the morning of the first full day of my stay. The receptionist suggested that I had splashed water from the shower. But that was not the case.A maid cleaned the floor. But I do not believe that anything more was done and, inevitably, the toilet started leaking again that evening.I had not showered since the maid had cleaned. If it is possible to do so, I will attach photographs of the water leak and the unused shower to this review.Unfortunately I was unable to speak to a member of staff because no one was on duty at 7pm in the evening. So I had to report the problem by email to the hotel and, because I had a very early flight to catch the following day, I had to leave the hotel before I could talk to a member of staff. I await hearing from Thomas Place at the time of leaving this review. Also, I could have done with more towels. I had one hand towel and a small towel that I could barely wrap around me: insufficient for a shower and hair wash. The towels were hard and one item of towelling had several holes in it. In addition, it used to be possible to check in at 2pm. But it is not now possible to check until 4pm. It was fortunate that I had somewhere to wait until I could do so.All in all, I am sad to say that Thomas Place left me feeling underwhelmed. ☹️
A very uncomfortable experience and not one I’d recommend
I had a very disappointing stay at this apartment. The beds were incredibly hard and uncomfortable, with spring mattress. I woke up every day with a sore back, and the pillows were just as bad. On top of that, there was constant high noise from the ventilation system running 24/7, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. The location was also far from ideal, situated quite a distance from the city center, which made getting around inconvenient. Reception was unattended after 5 p.m., so we had no way to address these issues or request help for 2 days. They finally changed the room, but in the other room there was the same constant noise from the ventilation system. Overall, a very uncomfortable experience and not one I’d recommend.

Noisy neighborhood and too much traffic
We were there just for one night, before the flight back home. Basic accommodation near the town centre; good place if you want to stay at Ponta Delgada
No "human" reception, the check-in / out is self service
Location. Kitchen facilities. Elevator.
Very clean, comfortable beds. Access to large dining room.
Kitchen too small for number of rooms. One saucepan, two frying pans, two ring hob.Guests were queuing to make meals and because there was only one pan etc you felt obliged to wash up before you sat down to eat!Use some of the dining room to make a bigger kitchen!
Location. Clean. Parking was convenient.
Bed was hard (and I like a firm mattress).
The room was really spacious, with air conditioning. We were provided with a code to the room before arrival, so it made the check in process really smooth. Good location, close to the Marina.
The bed was really uncomfortable, we ended up putting the duvet under the sheet to make it a little more bearable.
Good location - close to the center, marina, shops and restaurants. Very nice and comfortable room, with a small balcony which guaranteed fresh air, nice bathroom with all necessary equipment. Daily cleaning and change of towels, very clean. Amazing terrace on top floor (fantastic sunset view!), big and clean dining room, also with a nice view, kitchen well equipped. Very nice and helpful staff!
Not the nicest neighbourhood to walk alone at night, but during the day it was ok.
- very helpful and friendly staff - very good service (Taxi and other wishes)- small but good modern rooms
- we didn‘t miss anything during our short stay
I have stayed here several times and will return. Good location. Value for money. Very helpful staff.
We were scammed. This place was not the place we booked. The bed was a pullout couch old and dirty
Everything. The place was old and dirty. Not the hotel that was promised.
The stuff was super kind and helpful, there is an elevator
The room was a little bit small for a group of 3 people but still loved it
It was easy to enter. The key codes worked well. The kitchen on the 3rd floor was nice.
The street is busy and very narrow.
