Hotel São Miguel

All of the staff were wonderful to us. They are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is kept very clean and tidy.

You could hear people outside in the hallways when inside your room, maybe the rooms could benefit from being soundproofed.

very friendly staff. we left early in the morning and they prepared breakfast for us to go. they also called a taxi for us. very good location of the hotel. it's a two minute walk to the center

very small room. we could hardly walk between the beds. there was mold everywhere in the bathroom. the taps in the sink were very old and did not close completely. the beds were very old. 140 euros for one night in a hotel is very expensive (most likely the price is due to the location of the hotel, not its quality)

The walls were very thin and so a lot of noise carried from room to room and in hallways. We also found a giant cockroach in the room each of the two nights, which we were told is common.

The room was very cosy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I loved the little balcony looking out onto the street.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing, as the same things were served every day, and it was not a big variety of foods.

Excellent breakfast, the entire hotel was absolutely spotless, extremely clean and pleasant. The staff could not have been any nicer, extremely helpful and friendly. The room was impeccable and very comfortable. The hotel is not vey modern but I actually loved this aspect. I had zero issues.

No parking nearby, it could be an issue if you carry large luggage, but if you don't mind to walk approximately 5-10 minutes as we did, the walk through the city it was actually very pleasant, the area is extremely safe and beautiful.

I felt the location of Hotel Sao Miguel was perfect: a five minute walk to restaurants, shopping and the harbor. Breakfast was lovely: scrambled eggs, various breads and pastries, fresh fruit, cheese and meats, yogurts, cereals. All of the staff was polite and accommodating.

The hotel has about 25 rooms on two floors, and there is no elevator. At times, I could hear the guests in other nearby rooms.

We stayed in room 16. The first night it smelt of fresh paint,the 2nd night it smelt of damp. We had multiple air conditioning units outside the window which I believe led to excessive condensation in the room.The hotel is very basic and not expensive. It is well located and staff were friendly. I would stay again but request a other room. We had booked 2 rooms and the other one was fine

It is a nice place to stay for a night before/after the flight, as it is situated in Ponta Delgada, about 3km from the airport. The place is very clean and the staff is welcoming. The property is in the heart of the city with an easy access to restaurants, shops and a stunning city center.

Sound insulation is poor (however, I must admit, the place itself is pretty quiet) and the breakfast could be a bit richer.

The location and the staff was great. In the heart of the city the hotel is well placed from all the major attractions. The church and the port is very close by.

The cleanliness could have been a little better. The breakfast option and cleanliness should be improved. The jam had fungus in it.

- The receptionists constantly disturbed our stay because they were not properly communicating information among themselves. The only competent receptionist was José. Irene, the other receptionist who attended us at check-in, was nice, but she did not seem to understand Portuguese and was constantly distracted, especially by her phone. We gave out our beach towel to one receptionist (another receptionist, Irene, was there, along with some other staff), who confirmed that everything was okay, but when we were checking out, a new receptionist told us that we had not given it. I told him that I had already given it to them to and he responded that they had probably forgotten.-Cockroaches in the bathroom.

Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms. we had to leave early in the morning and a breakfast pack was prepared for us.

Price a bit high but prices for accommodation seem higher in Ponta Delgada and Sao Miguel than on the other islands.

the double rooms at the back are tiny, really just single rooms. i spoke to the manager who said all the rooms were the same size which was not true. the front rooms, the one's in the photos, are bigger. he then said he would see what he could do about moving us then never mentioned it again. the pillows and towels are ancient. the wifi barely works.

The staff was very friendly. I was able to rest, I only stayed for one night. I had hot water for taking a shower.

It wasn't very clean, there was dust on the surfaces and the shower cabin is uncomfortable (too small).
