Lords Plaza Surat

The location was excellent for our seminars.The breakfast was really good and well planned out. The restaurant service and food quality was excellent and the staff went out of their way to accommodate all the guests. The front management staff and the housekeeping staff were very helpful

The bathrooms in the room was slightly calcified and the overall fixtures were datedThe key cards kept on timing out daily and you would have to go back to reception to request a reset. Many times the staff would not allow multiple cards and this is the first time that I have seen this in a reputable hotel. Most hotels have 2 cards for families and the card doesn't time out until the end of your stay.The windows in the room were partially open and could not be closed fully so noise level was much higher than expected. Safe did not work initially but was replaced when requested. For the price point that they are requesting, they can make sure that all little nuisances are resolved. Lords hotels have a good reputation all over India.

Breakfast was like King's breakfast

Card kept getting de-activated. Apparently, you can have only one card active per room.

Cleaning initially was an issue. The rooms were not up to standard.Once made aware of the expected standard, housekeeping staff ( khushi, Deepak and Ajay made sure that the room was upto standard.The stream room was excellent

I stayed for 3 nights (17, 18, 19 Feb). During my stay the staff I encountered were very friendly, especially the manager sitting in Coriander restaurant at the evening/night shift was very kind and attentive to my requests concerning the food. And one of the servers, Soham, spoke well and was very kind, attentive & helpful.The room was spacious, and bed was comfortable.

I have never ever stayed in a hotel that charged extra for using the health club facilities, so I was very disappointed when i was told that they will switch on the Steam room or the Sauna only if I accept to pay the charges for it.(and if the chef gets to read this review then he should know that the Biryani he prepared was a SPICE BOMB that i have never eaten in my life... and that's coming from someone who is accustomed to eating spicy food. So next time it would be a good idea to warn the guests of the spice level or at least ask them how spicy they would like the food to be.

Terrible avoid at all cost

I had an extremely disappointing stay at Lord Plaza Hotel. The rooms were very unhygienic, and the washroom had a strong smell of urine, which was unbearable. Despite informing the staff, they refused to clean or change the room. To add to the disappointment, I ordered a cup of tea, which was spoiled and undrinkable. Even after paying, they didn’t return the change, showing a complete lack of professionalism. The bathroom floor was sticky and slippery, which caused my wife to slip and fall. The staff showed no concern about this incident. The room was also infested with insects, making it impossible to relax. As someone who has stayed in over 50 hotels as a frequent traveler, I have never experienced anything so appalling. To top it off, the price was exorbitant—₹12,000 for two nights, which is ridiculous given the poor service and unhygienic conditions. Honestly, I wouldn’t even pay ₹1,000 a night for such an experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs. It was a complete waste of money and an incredibly frustrating experience

Nothing to mention specifically

The Dinner was OK. But the breakfast did cost us medication and an additional hotel booking. We suffered food poisoning and our work on 10 Dec was disrupted, we managed to catch the plane on that night with a lot of difficulties.

Except for the location, nothing was good. It is an old property, and face-lifting has got its limitations. It is high time they should change the toilet seats and the wash basins as they cannot be cleaned properly. The towels were worn out. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was good ambience-wise but the food was not up to the mark. Breakfast quality was not good and we suffered food poisoning.

Would hope that the washrooms are a bit more clean.

As ladies traveling alone to the city, safety and comfort were our top priorities, and Ashok and Arjun (manager on duty) went above and beyond to ensure we felt secure and respected at all times. The rooms were spacious, Clean and well Maintained. Hygiene level was good as well. Good for persons travelling for business and work purposes. Good breakfast buffet with wide selection.

Room Service is pathetic and slow. Even check out long Q. Only 2 staff available for check out. And all gust soughting because miss appropriation in handling billings.

Bad

The service was just not worth the money. The receptionists tell one thing and some seniors come ahead and tell something entirely different. There is a huge communication gap between all the working members. I wouldnt pay so much for such a messy service.

Decent

The reservation process through booking.com was a disaster. The hotel asked for a 50% advance and did not accept non-Indian cc. When a friend sent the money, at check in the hotel said the reservation had been canceled. When we showed them the deposit, they gave the room, but blamed us for not informing them that we had made the payment, although it had been made on the link they provided. Then again at check out they wanted the same amount to be paid and the deposit receipt had to be shown. Decided never to use booking.com again.
